  1. But he's not biased!
  2. Let's see, who's better at making predictions, an unbiased computer algorithm or a herd of biased observers?
  3. My three Hart finalists would be Crosby, Luongo and Lecavalier. And I agree with Bob about Luongo deserving the Vezina.
  4. It's not as stupid as Steve Phillips saying that "there's a sixth category -- chemistry -- on the guys who have a sixth sense for creating it," in an article about the five tools. FJM got to that one, too.
  5. I was wondering who would be the first to post the "A-Rod's not a True Yankee" and "A-Rod's not clutch" drivel. I didn't expect it to be Marvin.
  6. (12) The Incredible Hulk (6) Faith - Buffy (4) B.A. Baracus - A-Team (2) Simon Adebisi-Oz (1) Angelus - Buffy/Angel (10) Dr. Gregory House - House M.D. (5) James T Kirk - Star Trek (10) Macgyver - Macgyver
  7. FJM rightfully ripped this guy to shreds the other day.
  8. Carolina ended up getting blown out, 5-1. That's just flat-out embarrassing.
  9. Is that the one where he closes with "I'm going upstairs to masturbate"?
  10. Still bitter over the Drury hit, are we?
  11. Interesting show, as they showed a lot of moments from years gone by. I would have put Phil lower, just because I didn't think this blowup was much worse than his three-jack on the 71st at Shinnecock. 1) Jean Van de Velde triple-bogeys 72nd hole of 1999 British Open, loses in playoff 2) Phil Mickelson double-bogeys 72nd hole of 2006 US Open, loses by 1 3) Greg Norman shoots 78 on Sunday, blows 6-shot lead in 1996 Masters 4) Arnold Palmer blows 7-shot lead on back nine of 1966 US Open 5) Ken Venturi shoots 80 in final round of 1956 Masters 6) Mike Reid blows 3-shot lead with three holes to play in 1989 PGA Championship 7) Doug Sanders misses three-foot putt to win 1970 British Open, loses to Jack Nicklaus in playoff 8) Sam Snead triple-bogeys 72nd hole in 1939 US Open, misses playoff by two shots 9) Ben Hogan plays final two holes of 1960 US Open in 4-over-par, needing two pars for playoff 10) Ed Snead blows five-shot lead in final round of 1979 Masters
  12. Oh, definitely not. It's entirely possible that the four matchups in the East are going to be: 1 vs. 8 2 vs. 4 3 vs. 7 5 vs. 6 That's just wrong, and there's no excuse for not having fixed this long ago.
  13. At this point, I'd love to get Jersey. I'd rather go against a team entering the playoffs on a slide than a hot team, and there's no team in the East hotter than the Penguins.
  14. I know it's kind of lame to still be making fun of Dusty but it's hilarious that he actually said this in the 1st inning of the first game he's broadcasting for ESPN. Should be a fun season. Oof. I think if I had to watch ESPN's baseball coverage for a prolonged period of time, I'd blow my brains out.
  15. That was New Jersey's game in hand against Pittsburgh, too. It's all tied up with five games to go. I like the Penguins to win the division now, and hopefully draw Montreal in the first round. That would be a great series to watch.
  16. Clearly, Carolina doesn't want to make the playoffs if they're down two to the Flyers with 15 minutes to go in the 77th game of the season.
  17. Golf Digest did one of their great retrospectives on the '97 Masters this month, where they interview everyone who was involved in the tournament and go back over the entire week. It's the top 10 major meltdowns on TGC at 10:00. Norman should still be #1. Phil won't even be top 3.
  18. Eh, they've done that already. They close against Boston, Washington and Philly, and they get the Islanders this week too. If they don't pick up at least seven points against that crowd, they don't deserve the top seed.
  19. Bumping this thread because Urbina was just sentenced to 14 years in jail.
  20. Pittsburgh and New Jersey both clinched playoff spots last night. I think the Islanders are realistically out of the playoff race now, since DiPietro isn't coming back.
  21. I hate to say this, because we're short on time as it is, but Sosa's not on the Yahoo list, since he didn't play last year.
  22. OK, here we go... Round 18: Jose Vidro, 1B/2B, Mariners Round 19: Alexi Casilla, 2B, Twins
  23. Well, I get to pick two, but that's only because I'm at the end of the last round too. I'll need a few minutes, since my draft sheet is at work.
  24. The Flyers just signed Martin Biron to a two-year contract extension.
  25. If only he could have been traded tomorrow...
