  1. That's impressive. Also a spectacular waste of time.
  2. Blowing a 17-point lead is a big deal, whether it's a good team you're leading or not. They should have been able to manage more than three points of offence in the second half against the Charger defence.
  3. Not really, no.
  4. This was an appalling loss. Up 17 in the second half and lose? You don't deserve to be considered an elite team. This is a short week, so I don't see them doing it against KC, but I wonder if it might not be smart to put Cutler in in Week 13.
  5. Oh geez. Thanks, Jake.
  6. Jagr got his 600th career goal tonight in a win over the Lightning.
  7. I'm getting a really strong deja vu back to the Colts game.
  8. The reason Michigan is still ahead is because the polls are so close. It's just about a toss-up in the voters' minds in both polls. If they just put the ordinal rankings from each poll in the system, USC would almost certainly be second.
  9. Season 5 also had 5 (Bowling Moms, Christie, Kim and Nicole). The Family Edition had an even higher proportion (11 out of 16), but that race never happened. Come to think of it, Season 5 had 9 females in the final 12 racers (Mirna and Schmirna and the twins). Of course, it would be hard not to have a bunch of women, since there were only 9 men total out of 11 teams.
  10. That was a gutsy play call on 4th and 1. You usually don't want to have to run 6 yards to get 1. That pitchback scared the crap out of me.
  11. Perhaps not (although I think so), but I think the combination of losing to Oregon State on the road, almost losing to Washington State on the road, almost losing to Washington at home, and almost losing to Arizona State at home is worse than almost losing to Ball State at home.
  12. It's because the proponents of the BCS like to say that the regular season, especially the last month and a half or so, is a playoff. If you lose then, according to that logic, you don't deserve another shot. Never mind that that's about as logical as my ass.
  13. Who's going to get the fourth at-large BCS bid? I'm assuming that Michigan, Boise State and Notre Dame will get the first three. It's a shame that Wisconsin can't go to the BCS, because they've had a really good season. I would say (assuming Louisville and Florida win their conferences) that it will probably be LSU, leaving West Virginia and Arkansas out in the cold. Of course, if Arkansas wins the SEC, then it will almost certainly be Florida. The Big XII and ACC will likely be one-bid conferences in any event.
  14. THERE'S your defence, right there.
  15. Correct. But who gave up that run? The answer of course, is Jesse Orosco. A point for the max.
  16. NBC's pick of Indy/Philly for next week isn't looking so impressive in hindsight, is it?
  17. And there's an impressive answer by Denver.
  18. It sucked that the Chos got eliminated, but they really deserved it for all the non-racing they did. Plus, seeing them nearly get arrested was pretty funny. Alabama really pissed me off in the previews with their "what goes around comes around" comment about yielding the BQs. What the hell did they ever do to them that would need to come back around? If we're talking about things coming back around, Bama should be eliminated next leg for thigs like stealing that poor guy's cab from last week.
  19. I'm pretty sure it was Jim Thorpe.
  20. Looks like the Colts are going down. Playing all those close games was going to bite them in the ass sooner or later.
  21. OK, those standings are from last week, but the BCS site is reporting Michigan still at 2 and USC still at 3: http://www.bcsfootball.org/cfb/story/6188418
  22. WOW..... Latest BCS standings: 1 Ohio State .977 2 Michigan .974 3 USC .870 4 Florida .850 5 Notre Dame .819 6 Rutgers .787 7 Arkansas .757 8 West Virginia .658 9 Wisconsin .643 10 Louisville .641 11 LSU .603 12 Boise State .554 13 Texas .517 14 Auburn .468 15 California .439 16 Wake Forest .436 17 Oklahoma .387 18 Georgia Tech .361 19 Maryland .220 20 Boston College .219 21 Virginia Tech .205 22 Tennessee .189 23 Nebraska .102 24 Oregon .087 25 Brigham Young .063
  23. I don't know how anyone can make that determination right now. It's just a guess at this point, since he's gotten next to no playing time since he was drafted.
  24. Anyone have word on the Colston injury for New Orleans? They may not even make the playoffs at this rate.
  25. Ohhhhh so close for Cleveland. How does Gus Johnson always get to be the one to call those type of games?
