  1. Well, I guess they're out of the national title picture now.
  2. Preview? What did you do besides say that the Ducks and Sharks would be playing a hockey game on Tuesday night?
  3. If I remember correctly, he had five assists. I'll go check. EDIT: I obviously do not remember correctly. He had two goals last night. EDIT THE SECOND: At least I partially remembered correctly. He had five assists in the win over Phoenix on the weekend.
  4. That was Indianapolis' problem as well, and Belichick did nothing to exploit it. As long as Maroney is splitting time with Corey Dillon, I don't see a problem for Chicago.
  5. I doubt it, since their schedule was really soft and they lost the only game they played against a strong opponent. Maybe a spot or two higher, but that's it.
  6. Thomas was a much bigger part of the Oakland offence than Kendall. Kendall is higher in WS, though, because he's one of the best catchers in the league. Which was my point -- if you're going to be considered for MVP, and you don't play in the field, you'd better be the definitively best hitter in the league. Which Thomas wasn't.
  7. College Football does not have a playoff You just proved Czech's point.
  8. Because they actually voted on what the award should really be and not turn it into "Best Statistical Player of the Year"? Without the Big Hurt that offense doesn't do anything this season. When he did actually get a hit he was mashing it. Win Shares, American League, 2006: 1. Derek Jeter (NYY) - 33 2. Joe Mauer (Min) - 31 3. David Ortiz (Bos) - 29 4. Manny Ramirez (Bos) - 29 5. Paul Konerko (ChW) - 23 26. Frank Thomas (Oak) - 22 DHs ahead of Thomas (as well as fellow Athletics ahead of Thomas) are helpfully bolded. If you're a DH, and you're going to compete for the MVP award, you'd better have an out-of-this-world season. Thomas had a very good season, but certainly not MVP-quality.
  9. AGGGGGGGGGH that song's in my head now and I can't get it out... "Everybody come and play / Throw every last care away / Let's go to the mall...today!"
  10. 5-0 Ducks. Can we all agree now that it's generally a waste of time to hype any regular-season game, particularly a divisional matchup?
  11. Denver - 24 Miami Dallas Denver Arizona Carolina Chicago Cincinnati NY Jets Jacksonville New Orleans NY Giants Indianapolis Baltimore San Francisco San Diego Seattle
  12. Quit teasing the Pirates fans, Al.
  13. Awesome, Sportsnet West is showing the Flames/Oilers game.
  14. ESPN.com's eTicket feature this week is on Don Cherry. It's quite interesting: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/sto...mp;lid=tab3pos1
  15. Greeeaaattt Actually, that's terrific news, since we all know common sense is a completely foreign concept to WWE.
  16. I read that earlier, and it was outstanding. A couple of other parts I liked:
  17. You'd think this was Ohio State/Michigan from all this buildup, and not game 22 in an 82-game season.
  18. I'm guessing that Indy/Dallas would have been the NBC game this past week, but it was protected by CBS.
  19. What Damaramuesque posts? Yeah, that.
  20. Getting back to yesterday's topic, and the coverage thereof, I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a little man-crush on the guys who run FJM: http://firejoemorgan.blogspot.com/2006/11/...nk-quietly.html
  21. Agreed. I'm going to have to avoid TSN and Sportsnet for the next week or so. I'm predicting an endless debate of Nash vs. Morneau for Canadian athlete of the year during the next month.
  22. That's possible. What really hurts the Bills is being in the AFC. 9-7 would have a legitimate shot at winning a wild-card spot, if not one of the divisions, in the NFC.
  23. Frank Nabbit scores with Robert Altman. Updated Standings - November 30, 2006 220 - Princess Leena 140 - CanadianChris 120 - Ortonsault, Frank Nabbit 100 - FFMS 80 - Carnival 60 - MarvinisaLunatic, Ced, Will Scarlet, KOAB 40 - NYU 20 - Evolution, Spaceman Spiff, Milky, Hawk 34
  24. Sorry, Leena, but you lost me at the part where the Bills were beating San Diego.
  25. The Kramer thread was in the Movies/TV folder.
