Don't say anything. Comment on the game afterward. Or give your opinion on how the game is going as it's going on. But don't do PBP. It's annoying.

Who on earth made up the schedule? The Sens have played one game since their European sojourn, and don't play again until Friday, when they get a lovely back-to-back against the (surprising) Coyotes and the Bruins.

I don't see how rating could be lower for Rays/Phils. Philly is the #4 media market, the most passionate sports market in the US, and starving for a championship. It's going to get a huge market share. Plus there's enough fans in the Northeast he have reasons to tune in to root against either team. The Rays are a great underdog story that will draw in a decent amount of casual fans. It's easily the most appealing match up this decade. The last World Series I cared about was 2001 because I was sick of the Yankees getting all the 9/11 love despite being the evilest franchise in North America. Are you serious? Red Sox/Cardinals from 2004 blows this matchup out of the water. And last year proved that fans don't tune in just to root for the underdog. If the Rays make the Series, it'll be the lowest-rated Series ever. I don't say that to denigrate the quality of the matchup, because I think it could be quite a competitive series, but that's just the way it is.

They said during the coverage last night that May chose Central Nova due to her not wanting to run against a sitting Liberal or NDP member. Mackay's seat was the only Tory seat in that part of the province. Doesn't make it any wiser of a decision, but there you go.

Good point. I'd love to know the answer to that one. You don't have to live in a riding to be able to represent it in Parliament. Happens all the time.

So, how much longer until we're back at the polls? I give it two years, tops.

1. a) For what they gave up, yeah. b) Absolutely. c) If they can't get their shit together, yes. This season has "2005 Eagles" written all over it. 2. Minnesota in week 14, and that's it. They're going 1-15. 3. Probably not. They're 2-4 already, and have road games with the Giants, Cardinals, Cowboys, Bills and Dolphins still to come, plus the Redskins and Jets at home. Even if they beat who they probably should beat (Rams twice and Seattle), they need three wins in the rest of their schedule, and I'm not seeing it. 4. Grant for sure. Addai at least has 4 TDs and hasn't turned the ball over, and the Colts just haven't been using him a whole lot, mostly due to the fact that they've faced a bunch of fantastic run defences this season. Grant is just really bad. I expect Addai to break out some against the Packers. 5. A lot of that will depend on whether we see the Redskins that beat the Cowboys, or the Redskins who laid a giant egg against the Rams. I expect a close game here.

Are these threads going to become one long running Kings play-by-play this year?

God, yes.

80-year-old Barney was beyond awesome. I wonder how they'll do the Ted/Stella breakup.

Trent Edwards returned to practice today, giving the Bills some hope that they can at least be competitive this week.

I'm going to hang my favourite American university out to dry here and mention the Syracuse Orange. Not the Orangemen, a great nickname, but the Orange. Terrific. They're now named after a colour or a citrus fruit (very apropos for a school in f'n upstate NY).

This was the week where I just threw up my hands and admitted that I know nothing about almost all of these teams. Any attempt to predict what will go on from week to week is just pure guesswork.
-
I was going to say I couldn't remember the last time I saw the Pats throw up a total stinkbomb like this, but then I remembered it was just three weeks ago.
-
Oh yeah, and thanks a whole fucking lot, Pats.
-
But they're no longer haunted by the spectre of suck that is Martin Grammatica.
-
I thought I had it in the bag until the final 90 seconds of the Philly game. Thanks a lot, Niners.
-
Good thing I backed off Washington. That was a head-scratcher.
-
Hm, a lot fewer on Washington than I figured: Minnesota - 2 New Orleans - 2 Washington - 2 Indianapolis - 1

Wow, I'm going to get some crappy games out at my parents' house for Thanksgiving dinner today. Looks like Jets/Bengals, Raiders/Saints, Bears/Falcons and Packers/Seahawks.

What am I bid for Gerber? Anyone?
