  1. I think the show's been good the whole time I've watched, which has been seasons 6 and 7. I've been watching old episodes on ABC Family from time to time, and now they're showing random episodes on a new channel I get called HDNet. Chloe in HD? Even hotter.
  2. Well, the IQ test measures potential. Perhaps Jeff Hardy could be a Rhodes Scholar if he had never done any drugs, nor eaten any pine cones.
  3. Haha. Well, I knew he had Joe on his list since he told me, and since all but 3 of the achievements are easy (the others being "Beat someone ranked as TNA Champion on leaderboard" and to become one yourself) I checked his achievement list via my friends list. I only have 1000/1000 in one other game, so I wanted to get it on this. Probably won't happen.
  4. Scroby is pist. I hope Luke knows I was just fucking with him.
  5. The Kings lost 2-0 to Columbus. Despite the fact, I must agree with 909- I like Jon Quick a lot. He's looked really good this season, and the one goal he gave up tonight (the Blue Jackets' other goal was an empty netter)was a rebound shot on a Columbus power play. I think LaBarbera's contract expires after this season. Obviously, he should be gone. I say call up Quick and let him compete with Ersberg for the starting job while Bernier gets another year of seasoning in Manchester.
  6. As I said in the thread I made about the GC sale, Impact is actually pretty decent. If Fire Pro is a 10, and SVR 2009 is an 8, Impact is a 6. Well worth the $10 at Game Crazy, or really $5 considering you get 1 free game, too. I have played 6-8 exhibition singles matches, including a couple Ultimate X, as well as the first few matches of story mode. There are obvious flaws with the game. Some collision detection problems arise, but I can count those occurrences on one hand. Twice, while chasing me outside the ring, opponents tripped themselves over the steps. Honestly, that was kind of funny. Some of the controls are unnecessarily complicated. There's no need for separate buttons for punches and kicks. To differentiate between weak and strong strikes, they could have set weak to tapping the strike button (preferably X) and strong to holding it. LB + Y doing three different things also causes some issues. It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't need it to use your finisher, but the fact that you have to grapple with LB + Y in order to use the finisher is awkward since you have to stand still. Pressing forward or back while entering the button combination causes you to do an Irish whip or other attack. To summarize, there are some collision detection issues. Some controls are awkward. They're nowhere near WWF Attitude level bad, but also nowhere near as intuitive as SvR's. Everyone's been over the no DQ/countout thing. I don't mind since the game is a fun arcade style title, but I wish there was an option to turn those things on and off. All that being said, the game is worth the $5/10 at GameCrazy. I'd say it's actually worth $20, maybe $30 if the online play, which I haven't tried, is decent. Oh, and about the Planet Jarrett achievement: I wonder if anyone has that. I have a friend on my list, and acquaintance of mine who is former indy wrestler who came up with Samoa Joe in the late 90's and remains friends with him to this day. He has Joe on his friend list, yet still doesn't have the achievement. That seems to imply that either Joe doesn't play the game, or that one or both of them dislikes the game enough that they never played each other online. Then again, said friend only has achievements from 10/6/2008 and hasn't played the game since, so I guess it has more to do with my friend than Joe.
  7. Good match, and I liked the Cena/Kingston spot. But why give Knox his first Raw loss in that match?
  8. Milena attacks Melina! I guess they're going the predictable route of having Beth face and defeat Melina at the Rumble, followed bya feud for WrestleMania with Roucka/Mendez. They've been hinting at a Beth face turn, but I hope they have her shun Mendez and keep Beth heel. There are more face divas on Raw than heels, and Beth is the only heel who is actually a threat.
  9. Neither do I. but there are no Thursday games at all, this nothing on TNT. And ESPN is showing NCAA bowl games.
  10. That was an awesomely hilarious promo from John Cena.
  11. I wonder if Agent knows there's no such thing as the NFC Central.
  12. I just got the game a week and a half ago and have put in 8 hours. I'm exploring every last inch of towns and the like. Very fun game.

    NFL Week 17

I really hope that wasn't Favre's last game. It'd be a sad way to go out. I'm happy that Miami won, anyway. The Jets couldn't make it after Baltimore won (the Ravens' victory which was never in doubt once that game got going anyway) so there was no effect on the Packes' draft pick, and I always enjoy seeing the underdog come up as logn as it's not a team/person I hate. I missed most of that Cowboys game while watching Miami/New York, but I have a feeling I'll get some enjoyment out of my new DVR playing back the Dallas game. I'll be relieved if Champ Bailey is out for the game, but I'd never wish a groin injury on any man.

    Yes.

    NFL Week 17

Packers didn't lose, and the Cowboys are now down 27-3 headed into halftime. I'm happy. But fuck, this is my first Sunday with an HD receiver and DVR, so I'd be enjoying watching the games even if they were all 55-0. Not that I even got to see the Packers game, as usual. Sunday Ticket it is for me next season. I just hope the Chargers beat the Broncos. The whole division is an embarrassment, but watching the "NFL Replay" edition of SD/Denver game 1 from September reinforced the point that San Diego shouldn't even be in the position of having to win today.
  17. Quoted from my friend, GameCrazy manager and fellow wrestling fan Scorch from CAG: I got TNA Impact and Blue Dragon for $10 and change total.
  18. Everyone knows that would never happen. CanadianChick was neither fat nor redheaded. Jingus would certainly be indifferent in that scenario.
  19. Same guy. The book I mentioned is quite good as well. Just came out in late October.
  20. This doesn't really anger me, and it may not be the case with you, Leo, but it astounds me how so many people don't know their parents' birthdays or even their ages. I mean... how do you not know? But as far as things that anger me, I have a rant about DirecTV coming when I have more time.
  21. Neither. They're "predicitions". Smooooooth. I was pointing out the fact that the thread title says, "predicitions" rather than "predictions". Also: Luke-Owned.
  22. I was sold when I saw the preview where he was pointing a gun at the Asian kids and said, "Get off my lawn."
  23. The Kings looked a lot better tonight against the Coyotes in Glendale than they did when the two teams played last night at Staples. 4-0 Kings win. I set my new DVR to record Montreal/Pittsburgh, but it somehow got deleted. I'm recording the Flames, senators game, but I just turned it on as Ottawa scored their second goal. I think I'll just watch it from here rather than the beginning. I just wanted to see what hockey looks like in HD.
  24. Well, Czech would tell you they need to get rid of everyone but Derrick Rose. While I'm on the subject, in the last NBA thread, bob_barron said nothing when Czech stated that the Bulls should tank the season to get a good draft pick since that would do more for them than the 8 seed could. Bob had previously called me a terrible fan for believing that my team, the White Sox, would lose a game when they were down in the 6th inning after they had shown an inability to win in such situations for a long time. That just goes to show the double standard Bob has when it comes to me. Anyway, the Bulls have a very solid foundation. They were distracted early last season by the Kobe Bryant trade rumors, and Deng and Gordon were upset about their contractual situations. Scott Skiles was fired prematurely, and it was all downhill from there. The Ben Wallace trade didn't help because, while they got rid of a big, overpaid oaf, they took on a smaller, overpaid guy in Larry Hughes who is a locker room cancer. They really only need 2 things. It's just that those 2 things are hard to come by in the NBA. They need a good coach, which they had, and they need to acquire a talented center, probably in a trade involving Gordon or Hinrich, another player, and a draft pick or two. I like Drew Gooden, but he's not sticking around nor is he worth keeping at the salary he will command, and neither he nor Joakim Noah are fit to play he center position in the NBA. Noah doesn't score or rebound well, and he's so skinny that he can't defend NBA bigs. If the Bulls has a good coach and a decent to good center, they'd be the 4th or 5th best team in the Eastern Conference, though still clearly behind Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando.
  25. Luol Deng is out only a week at most. That's a relief. He's under-performing this season, but the last thing we need is another injured player.
