So I "splurged" and dropped $20 on the paperback guide. I am only 8 hours into the game, but I doubt I'll have time for a second playthrough due to now owning 65 games for my 360 with more on the way. The plan was to play tonight, but I feel compelled to read the parts about the stuff I already did, so tomorrow will be Fallout time.

OH HELL YEAH! I thought I'd only be going to 1 Kings game this year, but it turns out I will get to see 5 more! My friend called just now saying he got 4 tickets each to 5 games, for a total of $286. I only have to miss 1 Reign game, too. The Kings games are as follows: Monday, January 12: Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday, February 14th: Edmonton Oilers Saturday, February 21st: Phoenix Coyotes Monday, March 9th: Vancouver Canucks Saturday, April 11th: San Jose Sharks I'm fucking stoked.

You can get Saints Row 2 for $40 and GTA IV for $30. Both are great, but very different, takes on a genre. Why not get both? Alternatively, you could buy the first Saints for dirt cheap.

Yeah. All the World Junior games, and obviously HNIC, are branded with the TSN logo. But to answer your question, Twiggs, anyone (at least in America) who's not a Rangersfan, Habs fan, or someone who watches the NHL Network often would likely not know about the broadcast.

Just finished watching the Lakers game off the DVR. It is both a blessing and a curse when both the Lakers and the LA Kings play on the same night, because I end up spending 5 and 1/2 to 6 hours in front of the TV just for those two games. Once again, the Lakers blew their lead in the 4th, but this time, they didn't recover and the Hornets won. New Orleans, meanwhile, has been looking more and more like the team that took the Lakers to the last game of the season over the 1 seed in the Western Conference last year. David West was beastly with 40 and 11, while Kobe had 39 for the Lakers. The Bulls also beat the Kings, but of course, I didn't get to see it. Next Bulls game I'll see is a week from Thursday on TNT when they play the Cavs. Speaking of the Cavs, how odd is it that they can beat most any team, yet they lost to lowly Washington after barely scraping by them last time around on Christmas day?

Remember kiddies, Montreal at the Rangers on NHL Network at 7:30 Eastern/4:30 Pacific!

I only get 1 disc at a time on Netflix, but I watched Evil Dead and Driving Miss Daisy back to back on instant streaming.

I'm ordering a guide. It'll take 9 days to get here, so I won't/can't play till then, but once it gets here, I'll immerse myself. I know I won't have time to replay the game, so I don't want to miss anything. I just hope I finish before school starts on February 17th.

I love Drew Doughty, but I wanted to throw something at him tonight. Both Ducks goals (not counting the empty netter) in the Kings' 3-1 loss came on power plays after Doughty got called for penalties. Grr.On the bright side, Ersberg looks like he hasn't missed a beat and the 2 goals he gave up were on Anaheim power plays. I keep forgetting to ask- does anyone follow the ECHL (I know Smues does)? A few days before Christmas, the Fresno Falcons- who were in first place in their division- folded, giving my Ontario Reign first place. I thought it was amusing that the first place team with their Carl's Jr. sponsorship folded due to attracting only 500 fans per game, while Ontario draws around 6,000 per. Kings at Ducks was pretty uneventful in the first period, save for that Anaheim goal 7 seconds into their power play. Otherwise, very few shots were taken by either team. Regardless, it's great to be able to watch my team in HD now rather than random NHL Network games. Tonight's game is in HD on the Ducks' channel and Thursday is on the Kings' affiliate. The Kings are going on a minute and a half long 2 man advantage once the second period starts. Jonas Hiller is in goal for Anaheim, and he gave up 6 goals to the Kings early on in the season. Ersberg is back for the Kings. Oh, and my friend uploaded the pics from Saturday's game. I'll be posting them soon.

This sucks so much. I've read EGM since issue #100 (last one was #236) in November 2007. I bought every issue until getting a subscription a couple years ago. That subscription was set to run through October 2010. I wonder if there will be a refund (doubtful) or a replacement (something shitty). This is a sad day for me. While anyone can get the news and reviews online, I still enjoyed reading EGM the day I received it each and every month. I was fortunate enough to meet the crew at E3 2005, and all of them were class acts. I hope they start a new site, or something to that effect.

Man, this game is pissing me off. I'm 0-3-1 since the All-Star break and have fallen from 4th in the Western Conference to 9th. I'm not sure what's going on. I'm still doing fine in the EASHL, and in my dynasty, I'm winning more than 50% of the faceoffs and getting more shots in most games. Still, I have gone from 23-12-11 to 23-15-12, being outscored 9-2, including a 3-1 loss to league-worst Ottawa. I even lowered the AI learning slider, and haven't had any luck scoring. It's usually not a problem for me to get goals. Now I can't even support LaBarbera and his <2.00 GAA.

You know what sucks about this game? It takes a commitment. All my playing was done in 2 days' time. I haven't played since Christmas Eve, acquiring Dogmeat about 8 hours in, since i can't just play for 30-60 minutes. I feel the need to devote at least a couple hours to exploring, but I always get sidetracked by non-gaming stuff, or I end up playing NHL 09 or something else online with friends for hours.

I really need to learn about prospects. I am familiar with the names of Manchester Monarchs players due to a few call ups /send downs and the roster in NHL 09. Also, Zatkoff played for Ontario before Quick was called up, so I've seen him in person. But otherwise, I know jack shit. Predictable win for Canada in the World Junior Tournament. I still have one hockey game on my DVR- the Winter Classic. Despite knowing the results and people saying it was horrible for the last 2 periods, I still feel compelled to watch it. Not sure when I will since the Kings are on (and in HD, for the first time since I got my HD DVR!) Tuesday and Thursday.
