  1. I was going to put this in the Gaming forum since it's a picture of myself and The Bad Guy (my cousin) after beating Donkey Kong Country, but we look so damn gay that I just wanted to post it here and see how creative and/or vicious you assholes (and I mean that in a loving way ) could get with your flames. Anyway, we both got DKC for Christmas 1994, so I'm guessing this is late December '94/early January '95, which would make me 10 and him 7 (both our birthdays are in July). We're at our grandma's house, the site of many gaming moments throughout our childhood. I'm on the left, and he's on the right. Laugh at how funny we look, and flame away. NOTE: The pic says "90%", but soon thereafter we achieved the vaunted 101% score. Then my sister erased the game (one of many) while trying to start a game. God, I hated that stupid bitch.

    Coffee

I'm a caffeine addict, as the title states. I have drank at least 6 cans of soda (recently diet) per day for God only knows how long. I used to drink coffee at my grandma's house before school while growing up, and I recently started that up again when I got a job at CCB a while back, since I am NOT a morning person. It has continued even after that job has ended. Right now, I am enjoying the perfect combination- I've filled my cup with 7/8 Folger's Classic Roast, 1/8 milk, 1 teaspoon Coffee Mate Amaretto Creamer (the serving size is 4 but it's too fattening), and 4 packets of artificial sweetener. It tastes great, and I'm enjoying it along with my morning (in this case afternoon, I just woke up) cigarette and lucha libre. I don't really go to coffee houses, so I don't know much about what they sell there, but when I was in Canada Tim Horton's Iced Cappucino rocked. So what do you drink to quell your coffee/cappucino cravings?
  3. I've never purchased a shoot interview video, but I love the recaps on this site and this seems to be the perfect tape to start with. Russo should provide one of the most interesting shoot interviews in recent memory. One question, though... How much does Feinstein generally charge for these videos?
  4. This is great news. I am a Tough Enough mark. I watched every episode of all 3 seasons, and I even watched the reruns every time I was home. Thus, I feel a special attachment to all the show's alumni (yes, even Matt Morgan). Here's to hoping Nowinski makes a full recovery and is able to come back to Raw very soon.
  5. Well, I feel stupid. It was 3:30 AM though, so I was kind og out of it. For some reason, I tend to get Banky and IDRM (at least I think that's who Tigger is... hard to keep up with all this shit) confused for whatever reason. As for the Arby's food... I stick by my statement. I don't think there's a fast food chain that I don't like, which probably contributed to me being a fatass from ages 7-18.
  6. I definitely agree with the Bankster here. i don't believe I mentioned Arby's, but I worked there almost 3 years ago and got free food every night, and the shit's delicious. Beef and Cheddar, Chicken/Bacon/Swiss, Big Montana, and the curly fries are some of my personal favorites.
  7. Well, I just got through reading eevry single post in this thread. The discussion in this topic reaffirms my belief that we have the most intelligent wrestling discussion on the entire net here. It's just very unfortunate that it took a tragedy to spawn such an interesting exchange of ideas. I will comment more on my thoughts of what should be done to prevent such events from occuring, but at this time it's too late to put all my thoughts together. However, I will re-post what I wrote at another board when I first read of his death. "I guess wrestling deaths do always come in threes. It's been a horrible few weeks... Road Warrior Hawk, one half of my favorite childhood tag team passed away, followed by Stu Hart, father of my all time favorite wrestler (Bret) and one of my top 10 (Owen, who is hopefully resting in peace as well... I cried when he died as I was watching the PPV live and almost went to the actual show... glad I didn't) and now Crash. I was never a hug fan of Crash Holly/Mad Mikey, but he was incredibly entertaining as the 24/7 Hardcore Champ and also as an MF'er. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. It's so weird, seeing as how he was so young and I just saw him on TV a few months ago. I'm getting chills just thinking about this... how utterly tragic. I'm still planning on resuming my training and getting into the business once I can afford it, but all these deaths make me second guess my decision. Knowing that probably 1/4 of the people I meet/work with/befriend will die tragically young is very unsettling."
  8. Heh, I just saw some "History of Sex" show last night that said that Romans used to have rendezvous (is that the plural of the word, too?) with prostitutes in graveyards, so you're not too off-base. Oh, and I love the AFI pic in your sig, btw.
  9. Where are you from, Czech? As far as I know, Portillo's is only in the Chicago area, so I was just curious. I had neevr ehard of the place until March when I went up to Wheaton, IL, and my friend who lives up there said I absolutely had to try it. Man, the food there is killer... I had a chili dog with cheese and onions, along with some of the best fries I've ever tasted. Highly recommended. As for my favorites... Non-fast food: Cheddar's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster (I hate lobster but love most seafood), Chesapeake. Fast Food: There's something I like at every place just about, but my favorites are Subway, Taco Bell (although they shut down all the ones here) and Burger King. Pizza: Ah, my favorite food ever. The best has to be Papa John's, followed by Vic's, Pizza Hut, and Antonio's.
  10. I joined sometime in early 2001, I believe. As always, I went by my real name, Matt Young.
  11. I only remember bits and pieces of my dream from this morning, but it was really fucked up. I've had longer and crazier ones, but nothing like how this one ended. I remember first that Mandy and I were having sex, and then the next thing I recall is going to the mall. I should also mention that my mom was with me for whatever reason. She wanted to look around for a second, and apparently I had to go find a new phone, which I did. I then went down to some electronics store where I walked down an aisle filled with people programming things. The store had some cheap DVDs, and there was this $4 MXPX one that I wanted. At the same store, they were selling some large posters and had an NMW (New Midwest Wrestling) one. They also sold tickets to the NMW shows there, and I was about to buy one since they were $5 in advance, but then Justin (Tom Arson) showed up and I bought one from him since wrestlers get a discount on training if they sell 50 tickets. For some reason, Justin was in his wrestling gear, as was Jarin (Guy Smith). After this happened, my mom had to go to the service desk for something, and in my dream it was right next to the food court. At one point, Christie Carlson Romano from Even Stevens got up from a table, did some weird dance in front of me and then kind of disappeared. Every time I got near this one hallway on the side of the area I was in, the receptionist at the desk would say I was being too loud. I didn't understand that. In the dream, I joked with some girls about that. Eventually, I made my way down another hallway to a large conference room type area where I once again met up with Mandy, as well as Tori (Cherry Malone). There were other people in the room that I knew, but I can't remember whom. Black Sabbath was in there and started playing "Paranoid". When it came time for the solo, Slash from Guns 'N Roses came out, but instead of playing the guitar, he played some weird Indian type flute. He then handed it to me, expecting me to mimic him, but I had no idea how to play. He tried to coax some hot blonde girl into playing, but she kind of laughed and refused, appearing somewhat embarrassed. Just seconds later, I heard the sound of gunshots as bullets shattered the windows and ripped through the walls. Slash was killed, and everyone else hit the floor, obviously surprised that their visit to the mall was culminating in an attack of that fashion. I crawled along the floor as bullets whizzed over my head, pushing chairs and other objects in front of me for cover. I planned on crawling out of the room, but Mandy too scared to move. She was probably 10 feet away and was so in shock that she hadn't even tried to take cover. I pulled her to the ground and basically covered her with my body in order to protect her. I told her I loved her... She said, "I love you, too"... And then seconds later, I was shot in the side of the head. The bullet went into my left ear, and I felt a sharp pain as my ear began to ring and I slowly faded out of consciousness and life. That was the first time I had ever died in a dream, and the scariest part was that when I woke up, my left ear was ringing and was also actually bleeding. I doubt I'll be able to sleep for a while.... That really freaked me out.
  12. I'm not going to argue with you guys about your opinions, because in one way or another they are all warranted. I just wanted to share my story. As far as the bulemia goes... I don't know if that's the ebst term since I don't make myself throw up. I just was (and still am to an extent) going through a hellacious time in my life, and I get so upset I can't hold down food. As a result, I just stopped eating more than once every few days. I went from 168 pounds to 132, stayed at 135 for a while, and now I weigh 127.
  13. Well, you all make good points. However, Dames, my mom can't keep me in the house, seeing as I am 19. And the cops had NO REASON whatsoever to pull us over, as we weren't even smoking at the time and it would have been impossible to notice the beer in the cupholders. The driver made no violations which would have resulted in being pulled over, which means this shouldn't have ever happened. The cops literally followed us for 4 blocks as we headed to this guy's house. I've had bad experiences with Chatham cops prior to this... They pull people over for no reason at all.
  14. I don't think I've posted here yet... Anyway, I haven't smoked for long. I'd accept the odd cigarette from smoker friends on occasion back in the day, but I never smoked regularly until February-March of this year when Mandy and I started ahving problems. I smoke her squares when I was with her... She was smoking Marlboro Ultra Lights in an attempt to quit, but soon switched back to Reds. I bought my first ever pack (reds) on March 30th, which I remember since it was WrestleMania. A couple weeks later, I tried my first Newport, and that was that. I can barely stand non-menthols now. Most people are shocked I can smoke so much since Newports are kinda strong and I am a relative n00b. I enjoy the buzz though... When I can't scrape together enough cash for Newports, I usually snag a the2-for-1 deal most places have on Salems (Black Label). 2 packs of halfway decent smokes for 3 bucks is hard to beat.
  15. Yeah, me. That's right. Straight A's, Christian school going, perfect little Matt Young was arrested and incarcerated for the first time in his life tonight. I got my ass cuffed and tossed in county. The charges and story are as follows since I can lazily and sleepily copy and paste from my AIM convo with LJ: "Illegal consumption of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of cannabis- all misdemeanors. It sucks... I never got caught before, and I shouldn't have this time. I wasn't driving, but the cops followed us and pulled us over and never said what for. They saw the beer cans, then searched us and took my bowl. I had like 1 gram of weed on me and had drank 2 beers... basically nothing. But I should have seen it coming. My mom was all like, "don't get busted tonight!" before I left, and when Shaun bought the beer, it rang up to $6.66. It was a fucking omen." So this past 8 months, in addition to becoming suicidal, depressed, anorexic/bulemic, alcoholic, a nicotine addict, and just overall loser, I now have been arrested. I asked for a copy of my mug shot, but apparently they don't give those out. Would've made a great avatar though. I honestly wasn't too worried when it was going on... I'm still confident I can make a case for illegal search and seizure, and I wasn't doing anything morally wrong, so my conscience is guilt free. Still, looking at it from an objective perspective, you can just add this to the long list of reasons for me to cease to exist
  16. I was just reading this in our local paper. I had no idea this was national news. I don't think we've been represented in any national media since Buff Bagwell was arrested here (which I saw ). I know people who go to school with the dude, and the man whose record he broke, Griff Jurgens, attended Glenwood High School with me for a year. I think that's very honorable of him to turn down the tainted record.
  17. I missed his vignette, but I thought he sucked in WCW. He's funny as a commentator, but sucks balls in the ring.
  18. Anybody? I need my fix!
  19. They are on pop/Top 40 radio stations, at least around here.
  20. Since when is one a loser for being home at 2:15 in the morning? Everything's closed by then, and my drunk friends and I were ready to pass out. I realized when I woke up that I had stayed on the internet for over 8 hours somehow while I slept. Usually it disconnects me long before that length of time. I wonder if I made any drunken posts last night... *checks*
  21. Are you by any chance a cast member from that short lived mid-90's Fox show "Erie, Indiana" that aired on saturday mornings right after Goosebumps? I remember an episode where the kids got caught ina timewarp or something because of the lack of daylight savings time. Anyway, I got home last night and my computer clock was trying to confirm the time change with me. I was drunk and it confused me. Didn't fall used to begin (and daylight savings time end) on September 21st? Huh....
  22. I'm a rock fan. Pretty much all I listen to is rock. However, as a songwriter myself, I'm a sucker for a great hook or some good emotional lyrics, no matter what the genre. Third Eye Blind technically is a rock band, although they have a pretty poppy, Top 40 sound. I've always enjoyed their music when I've ehard it on the radio, but my interest never really went past that. However, a couple weeks ago I dug out some old CD's I got from Columbia House for free maybe 4-5 years ago, and 3EB's self-titled debut album was in there. Upon further inspection, I have to say that this is one of the most surprisingly good albums ever. I have listened to it all the way through more than once, and it's very good. Stephen Jenkins has this innate ability to write amazingly catchy pop hooks that draw in the listener, at the same time somewhat masking the "taboo" topics he discusses in his lyrics, such as drugs and sex. The singles alone (keep in mind, these were played on teh radio) discuss oral sex, methamphetamine use, and suicide, among other things. All in all, I have greatly enjoyed this album and it continues to grow on me with each listening session. It's even starting to influence my songwriting. I'm sure many of you heard at least the singles from this record when it was released, but I urge you to give the entire album a listen if you haven't already.
  23. The old lady's out of town, so I chose to spend a nice quiet evening at home browsing the forums and playing Chrono Cross.
  24. It wouldn't be for a while since I haven't even traiend enough to have a match, but despite past differences, it would be cool to participate in a match with someone I am at least acquainted with. Then again, if you decide to wrestle, we could always relive my first e-fed match- Matt Young vs. Angle. Actually, I have a couple friends in Montreal that I plan on visiting sooner or later, so who knows? It could happen. To JumpinJackFlash- This is your golden opportunity. Don't let size limitations distract you from achieving your dream. If you want to wrestle, become a wrestler. if you don't like it, you can always switch to a managerial role later on. If you're in this just to make it to WWE or NWA-TNA, then you're wasting your time most likely, regardless of size. But if you just get in the ring and work your ass off doing what you want to do, it will be more than worth it in the end, I'm sure.
