  1. I purchased it on a trip to Arizona in August of 2002. It was a good book, not as entertaining as, say, a WWE wrestler autobiography, but as far as non-WWE produced wrestling books go, it's the best I've read yet. I read the thing straight through on the plane ride home.
  2. Zero degrees Celsius is equal to 32 degrees fahrenheit, so it's in the mid 60's there by our temperature scale.
  3. I generally love sim type sports and wrestling games (big EWR fan here), so when I originally read this post I checked out reviews for Baseball Mogul. It looked alright, but it seemed like nothing truly special. Can you guys tell me more (or link me to info/reviews) about Out of the Park?
  4. I hear ya. It was 57 degrees the other day, and today it's like 10 below with the wind chill. Although, to be fair, this winter has been far warmer on average than the typical central Illinois winter, which usually features below zero temperatures from early December- late February at least.

    B2K Breaks Up

From 411mania.com: R&B group B2K has broken up after six years together. "We've had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies," the group's manager, Chris Stokes, says in a statement. "The kids are growing up and are interested in pursing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers. B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed." The group's latest album, B2K, has sold 891,000 copies since being released last year. The group's biggest hit was 2003's Bump Bump Bump which featured P. Diddy. -------------------------------------------------------------- All I have to say is... Thank God! I hated B2K's music with a passion. They were quite possibly the worst group ever, far worse than any other boy band (That's what they were, like it or not).
  6. I was about to say the same thing. I'm not a Kings fan by any stretch, but the man has the second highest scoring average in the league. Also, being a T-Wolves fan, I must also question the lack of Sprewell love.
  7. Man, that brings back memories. That was probably the last story arc I read before quitting comics. I've been wanting to get back into them, and now I really hope my old books are still around. I had (and loved) every issue of the Phalanx Covenant and the Age of Apocalypse, and I really want to read those again.
  8. I'd like to join, if only for the fact that CWM seems like a cool motherfucker and shares my fondness for drugs, terrorizing neighborhoods, drugs, Nirvana, and drugs... But then again, I don't even know what the purpose of the group is and I'm probably not known by enough posters to be considered ESTABLISHED~!
  9. I'll second Jericho and Raven, circa 1998. I also really liked Charlie Haas' hair when he first entered WWE, when he had the sides closely shaved and the top was somewhat shaggy with blonde streaks. I'm considering copying that, seeing as how I already have my hair cropped short on the sides/back and slightly longer on top for spiking purposes, so it wouldn't take much.
  10. It probably doesn't matter, but just so I'm straight on this- Are we voting on who we enjoy playing as most or rather who has the best character design/backstory/etc.?
  11. Don't forget John Wilkes Booth. He killed the one person that my hometown is famous for, forever dooming the capital city of Illinois to be a forgotten, boring wasteland.
  12. AWESOME, BABY~! I can't believe I didn't think of that. Dicky V would be hilarious, especially if it was his first time getting high.
  13. Congratulations to the guys who made the list from here. I think Truitt should be on there, but maybe next year. Oh yeah, I'd also like to commend Jay Bower (who used to post here) along with Bob Barnett and Justin Baisden (who still do) on their work.
  14. I think Jordan's "good guy" image is already tarnished. Anyway, I'd go with Dennis Rodman.
  15. Did someone say... Oregon Trail? I played that game all the time while attending Christian Elementary School. Sure, it was one of the only games they had other than Googlepede and Math Blasters, but it was damn fun. My cousin and I have talked for years about how there should be a sequel made, preferably with Xbox Live capabilities. I really want to play that game.... Is it worth downloading that stuff with 56k?
  16. This may not be worth starting a topic about, but I found it amusing. I'm currently listening to "Mono", the new single from everyone's favorite obnoxious, loudmouthed, drugged-out, fuck- Randy-Orton-she's-the-real-legend-killer... blah blah etc.- Courtney Love. I've noticed over the last couple years that Brodie Armstrong, the gorgeous Australian-born lead singer of The Distillers, sounds like Love when she sings and was obviously influenced somewhat by Hole (a band which, I'll admit, had a few really good songs). Still, The Distillers are a much better band than Hole ever was, so that's not a knock. Now, on this latest release, we have Courtney Love sounding like she's trying to imitate the Distillers, and in the end it comes out as a horrible, third rate knockoff that shows me that if this single is any indication, Courtney Love's musical quality has taken a complete 180 in the last 10 years since Hole first broke through into the mainstream. That's not what the topic was about per se, but still... it's funny. Karma + heroin + failing movie career= this shit.
  17. Choken One, I think your idea is excellent (well, except the Chavo G. thing). The angle concept that you summarized was very well put together and I would love to see things play out that way. We'd be getting an updated version of their 1998 WCW feud, except it'd be far more serious and more beneficial to Chavo. That would culminate in a really good, emotionally charged Eddie vs. Chavo match that would elevate Chavo without Eddie having to be beaten by him. Finally, we'd get Eddie vs. Angle at WrestleMania which would be a dream match and would be practically guaranteed to go **** with the potential for 5.
  18. Quoted for agreement.
  19. With it now being December 31st of 2003 (damn, time flies), some of us will be making new year's resolutions- setting goals for ourselves to attain throughout the coming year. I'm getting old- kind of going through a quarter life crisis- and trying to get over the worst year of my life, so I have several resolutions I have made. Have my first professional wrestling match: Wrestling has always been a dream of mine. I've started training with NMW twice and had to stop due to financial reasons. This time, I have the cash. I'll be going back in a week or two, so if all goes well I should have my first match by summer's end, around my 20th birthday. Get built: This is somewhat related to the previous resolution. I was fat all my life, but as a result of stress induced anorexia caused by Mandy ripping my heart out, I lost over 40 pounds and now hover around 125. I need to add some muscle for wrestling. I'm the same height as Chris Benoit and would love to be in the shape he's in, but of course there's no way that'll happen in a year. I just want to get started on it. Get a tattoo: I have wanted one since I was a kid. I have several ideas and haven't decided on a certain one yet, but I'd like to get inked soon. Go back to school: I'm one smart motherfucker. That's all I hear from everyone. I got great grades while in school and have a genius level IQ. So why the fuck am I not in college? Good question. I plan on starting classes over the summer or in the fall at the very latest. I'm very eager to learn. Start reading more often: I still get tons of magazines, but I never can afford books anymore. I used to read for pleasure for hours each day. I need to renew my library card and then start buying books when I get a job. I am going to force myself to read at least one book per week. Repair my relationship with Mandy: We spent every day together. We were best friends, then lovers... Then exes. But we still remained best friends. Now, I don't know what we are. I still love her, but even I don't know if getting back together would be good for either of us. Regardless, I miss my best friend and want her back at least in that capacity. Figure out what I want from women: On a somewhat related note, I need to decide what I want from women. Throughout life, I have wanted nothing more than a committed, loving relationship. Now that my one true love has broken my heart a thousand times over, I don't know if I want to risk that again. Also, for the first time in my life (probably due to the weight loss brought on by the aforementioned heartbreak) lots of women seem to find me attractive... Beautiful women at that. When I know they are interested, I gain confidence and thus am able to get together with them. I have turned down more girls this year than in my entire life before, and there are at least 5 girls who are very interested in me right now whom I consider gorgeous. Should I try to find that 1 special someone, or should I play the field and enjoy this blessing while I'm in the prime of my life? Go back to church: I was raised Christian. I attended a Christian school up til high school. I may have stopped practicing the religion, but the values instilled in me by the church have made me into the sensitive, compassionate man I am today, and for that I am grateful. I recently started reading the Bible again and attended the Christmas Eve church service at my mom's church, and I feel like God is what I need right now to help me through what's been a long stretch of painful ordeals as well as to guide me in making the decisions I have listed here. I'm not sure if the Christian faith is for me, but my goal is to at least go to church for a month or so, every week, to get back in the swing of things and try to see if that's what's right for me at this time. Well, I know there are more, but this is getting long. I may add more later. What are some of your new year's resolutions?
  20. Get Real may not have been on the air for long, but they still had 22 hour long episodes.
  21. Call me strange, but I've only seen 1 Bond movie. That was GoldenEye, which I loved since I had been such a huge fan of the game. I've been meaning to watch some of the other 007 movies on Spike TV, but these books sound really cool, too. How much are they, around $8 like most paperback books?
  22. This thread has already been made...
  23. The show was good from the little I saw, so I may buy this. However, I would much prefer a "Get Real" DVD set. That show was the best non-wrestling/sports/music series ever with the exception of Boy Meets World.
  24. *orgasms* I'm getting a DVD player this week. I must own that. I have nearly every episode on tape, but still... You guys have listed most of the great quotes I can remember at the moment. However, what may have been my favorite moment ever on the show was when Duke fired Jay and Jay set out to win another Pulitzer prize. When he finally did, it showed Duke watching on TV, and he simply muttered, "Well, I guess the jig is up!" and leapt out the window. I laughed my ass off for a good five minutes after that one.
  25. The local indy fed, New Midwest Wrestling, has some matches up on ClickWrestle now. This fed's great. I have been to all the shows and I have trained with them in the past, and I will be starting again in the next 2 weeks. The matches that are available were NOT filmed by NMW, but rather a guy who goes by the name of Crimefighter. I believe he does commentary during the matches, and his high-ass voice gets kind of grating, but he's only a fan, not our official commentator. I honestly believe that NMW has some of the best in-ring action of any US indy fed, but the show that these matches were taken from was not one of the better ones. It was a free show on July 4th and, due to the 100 degree weather and amount of matches scheduled (it was a tournament), most only go 3-4 minutes and aren't anything special. Normally, the average NMW match is at least 10-15 minutes and is between 2 and 4 stars. Some have even reached 5 stars, IMO. Hopefully those matches will go up soon. Oh, and another thing... Due to the remote location of the show, the heat, and the fact that it was a holiday, we had a shitty turnout. Usually we get around 300 people at a show. Hell, we even have a fancy lighting rig and video screen. But I digress... Check this stuff out if you'd like. You can even see me in the crowd... I'm right by the ring next to a rather large man named Robert. I haven't viewed the videos since I only have a 56k connection, but I believe I was wearing a black NMW shirt and camouflage pants, and I probably had my gold fake Oakleys on for most of the show. Here's a pic of me from back in May so you'll know who to look for. I shouldn't be hard to find. http://home.insightbb.com/~ckimball/upload...attandmandy.jpg Anyway, here's the link to the matches: http://www.clickwrestle.com/modules.php?na...download&cid=35 If you like what you see, check out www.newmidwest.com and the forums and give us some feedback! If anyone lives in the central Illinois area (which I doubt), come out to a show sometime, too. EDIT: They added Tom Arson vs. Toga Steve. I'm not sure where Crimefighter's camera was positioned, but Tom comes over to where I'm sitting and talks to me during and after that match (then again, there's a slight chance it was the battle royal, can't remember) so you should deifnitely see me on camera.
