I don't really care about who Karl Malone poked, (like it's a big fucking deal), but it's really sickening to look at ESPN.com and see every single article about how great the Pistons were and why didn't they know they'd win the series, Uh, newsflash. The series is STILL GOING ON. I'm gonna have to go to work in a little bit, so I won't watch the game until late but I want to make my prediction now so everyone can reference it later. The Los Angeles Lakers will win Game 5 tonight, Game 6 on Thursday, and then Game 7 on Sunday to once again become NBA champions. If the Pistons have any minute chance of winning the series, it would be in Game 6, where the Lakers could theoretically suffer a letdown, but that's not what will happen. The Lakers will come back and win the series in seven games.

Eugene's gotta go against somebody who has enough name value on Raw to be considered a threat, but not too much wrestling ability, so as to let Eugene believably win. With all of Eugene's flashback classic stuff, I think he could work a really good program with Flair. That would allow him to climb the ranks of Evolution until he eventually gets a shot at Orton. I think Eugene would be much more interesting as IC champ then Benjamin would.

All right. I had to work again tonight, so I just finished watching it a little bit ago. Anyway, here's what I thought. 1. The officiating was blatantly biased. It was more than hometown edge or the Pistons being aggressive. What it was was the officials getting pissed off that Phil Jackson would complain about them in the media after all the years that they gave his teams the benefit of the doubt. They were pissed off, and they made up their minds to give Detroit every call that they possibly could. And in a game where Detroit could only get scoring from two guys, those free throws were enough to make the difference. 2. The Lakers need to tweak their lineup a little bit for Game 5. In a situation with hostile officials, in a pressure situation, when you can't afford to give up any easy buckets, they can't leave the young guys like Walton, Rush, and Medvedenko to rack up the fouls and turnovers. They've got to get what they can from Malone in spurts, play Rick Fox a lot more, and go small when they need to. Payton stepped it up tonight and I have no doubt that he can be effective in Game 5. 3. The Lakers will win Game 5. Shaq's still dominant, Kobe's due for a big game, and Payton's been greatly improved. All they need to do is play a little tighter defense, and be extra careful to stay out of foul trouble since things likely won't be going their way. While the Lakers put in a lot better all around effort in Game 4 then they did in Game 3, I still think they can give a little bit more facing elimination. At this point, is does look like there is a good chance for the Pistons to win the series, but I think if they do, it will be with the Lakers facing a possible letdown in Game 6 after escaping Detroit. Even with everyone else diving off the Lakers bandwagon, I feel confident that the Lakers will overcome everything to pull one out in Game 5.

Predictions HHH vs. Shawn Michaels- HIAC Winner: HHH by pinfall. As much as I'd love to see HBK win the feud here, it just seems that with HBK being out for the month, HHH sticking around, and HHH desperately needing to get some of his heat back by winning a clean match, and not needing to cheat everytime he wins, he should pick up the victory here. Also, this will end the feud and we won't see HHH and HBK in any kind of ring for three months, and not in a singles match for over a year. Chris Benoit © vs. Kane- World Heavyweight Championship Winner: Kane by DQ. I'll go out on a limb here, and say that Kane has Benoit beat before Matt Hardy or Edge or someone similar interferes, continuing the Kane/Benoit feud for another month. This allows them to do a slow burn with Edge and Benoit, while they set up the HHH/Benoit ME at Summerslam. Edge can lose to HHH at Vengeance and then watch Benoit beat him at Summerslam, until it eats him up inside that he's not as good as his tag team partner. Then, they can do the Rock/Jericho finish from No Mercy 2001 at the August PPV, letting Edge get a one month reign. Randy Orton © vs. Shelton Benjamin- Intercontinental Title Winner: Randy Orton by outside interference. Benjamin's had all the advantage in the feud so far, and he's getting pushed so fast, the crowd is hardly even responding to him. They need to back off a little here, and let Benjamin struggle to gain the title, while Orton keeps some heat by holding onto his title. Victoria © vs. Gail Kim vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus Winner: Lita by pinfall. Since, the actual women's division is nowhere near as important on its own as it is when its a prop for the mens side, Lita wins to set up more intrigue with Kane. Lita is celebrating her victory with Matt when Kane comes in for another creepy vignette, and Matt realizes what is going on and flips shit. They are separated, but Matt comes back later in the night to cost Kane the belt. Chris Jericho vs. Tyson Tomko Winner: Chris Jericho by DQ. They can't just let any no talent piece of shit pin Chris Jericho when he's supposed to be getting a push, but at the same time, they can't just let Tomko go down clean in his first singles match. This will be the compromise solution. Eugene vs. Jonathan Coachman Winner: Eugene by pinfall. They'll take their regular Raw comedy match and do it even better on PPV, allowing for yet another triumphant moment for Eugene. La Resistance © vs. Chris Benoit and Edge- Tag Team Championship Winners: La Resistance by pinfall. Edge works most of the match to keep Benoit fresh for his World Title match, until he finally can't take it anymore and hot tags out. Then, Benoit comes in and cleans house, taking out both members of La Res. However, just when he's about to win, Kane's pyro hits, and in the WWE's favorite finish ever, Benoit gets rolled up for the pin.

Well, I guess that's pretty much a spoiler for Bad Blood this Sunday. If HHH is sticking around, then he's definitely gonna take out Shawn in HIAC. Maybe HHH will just beat Benoit at Vengeance, and then they can have the rematch at Summerslam. The winner of the HIAC match is pretty much the obvious #1 contender. The only other way I could really see them going is to drag the Benoit/Kane feud for another month, and let HHH beat Edge to earn his shot at Benoit.

Geez, why can't anyone show some respect for the Lakers. They go into the Finals as a huge favorite, with no one thinking there's any way that they'll lose. Then, they build the Pistons up as a credible threat, sell for them incredibly well, and put them over with NBA fans all over the world. And what do we hear? Not "Oh what great champions they are to make it exciting for the fans." Not "What team players they are, they really get what David Stern's preaching." Just, "Oh, Bird and Magic and Jordan would have squashed the Pistons. I miss the old days of squash matches." What a bunch of ingrates.

I can't remember exactly what Cole said for the move, but I know the word "legsweep" was in there. All it really was was a legsweep with him pushing down on the other guy's head a little bit as he did it.
-
Boy, those Lakers. Do they have a flair for the dramatic or what? Their last title together and they want it to go the full seven. As fans, we're lucky to get watch those kind of World Champions.
-
Jordan was overrated. He was on a good defensive team where everyone knew their role, and he made some clutch shots. At Kobe's age, Jordan didn't even have one ring yet. I'm not saying that Kobe's better than MJ, but to say that Jordan would never have a bad half, and Kobe's not worthy of any comparison, because he did en route to his 4th ring at the age of 25 isn't fair. And I don't know how anyone would say that the Laker's can't come back right now. Shaq and Kobe can go off at any time, and they're only down seven at the half.
-
OK, new prediction: Lakers 70, Pistons 66. The Lakers can't keep playing this bad, and if the Pistons can't build the lead now, they're not gonna hold on and win. And, yes it's ugly.
-
They're not gonna get blown out. Jackson just needs to bench Fisher until he realizes that he's not Kobe. If Shaq and Kobe ran a two-man game instead of watching Fisher run around like a chicken with his head cut off, the Lakers would be fine.
-
Think how much better the Lakers would be if they just opened up every possession by giving it to Shaq in the post. I really don't understand why they don't do it more.
-
Who cares? He's from the visiting team. It's still pretty unprofessional for a Finals game. Of course the little b-b-b-b-b act isn't helping their credibility either. Oh, and before the game starts my prediction tonight is Lakers 86-79. I still think they win the series in 6, although it could just as easy go 7.
-
They just fucked up, they said that Shaq went to La. Tech instead of LSU in the intros.
-
Detroit gets hella points for playing Bond music in the background. However, 007 is no match for 008. He's going to rape the Pistons tonight.
-
How could you forget... Rikishi. Having the gimmick that he's Asian would actually seem fresh considering how long he's been doing the same boring shit.
-
Don't worry. I will as soon as it starts. The pregame show doesn't do much for me.
-
OK, I lost interest. I'm going to watch reruns of Spongebob that I've already seen before instead.
-
JBL + Eddie = Super Corny If JBL used just a lit bit of subtlety, it would help his character a lot.
-
So I think I can call this next thing. Cena beats RVD, then he beats Dupree, then when he's tired, he loses to Booker.
-
Dude, what are you talking about, he can spin in a circle and take a superkick from Scotty 2 Hotty. And his finisher is a LEGSWEEP!
-
Yeah, but will he be able to MANHANDLE Scotty 2 Hotty like Mordecai?
-
Well, I'm actually watching the show now to kill some time before the Lakers/Pistons game tonight, and I have to say that the opening segment wasn't bad. A Cena/Booker feud could be pretty decent, and I kind of like the Undertaker storyline too. It's just the JBL/Eddie feud that's a total train wreck. Oh, and the whole undercard, I kind of forgot about that.

That's like saying that the Jazz proved they were as good if not better than the Bulls when they won a couple games against them in the Finals. The Pistons showed that they are a very good team that will challenge the Lakers, and give us the first interesting Finals since 1998; but they did NOT show that they were as good. Kobe stepped it up in crunch time for the Lakers in Game 2, just like MJ used to do for the Bulls. I said I was impressed with Detroit; they're better than Minnesota, and they showed they can come to play, but I still think that overall, the big-time scorers are gonna be the difference. With the series being as close as it is, there will probably be at least another game or two coming down to a last-second shot, and when that happens, the Lakers will win because they have someone that will make that kind of shot. (Of course, Billups did hit that half-court shot against NJ, but even then, they didn't have the veteran poise to capitalize and they lost in OT.) I'm not trying to say that it's impossible for the Pistons to win the series, I just don't think that they will do it, because the Lakers have a little bit more. P.S. I'm watching SportsCenter right now, and it really amuses me how they're talking about how he finally got to the NBA Finals and his knee's injured. Uh, hello. He already played in 2 Finals when he actually was a major factor, and as I remember he lost one of those series, largely because he couldn't make a free throw in the final seconds of Game 1 against the Bulls. Malone's a perfect example of someone who doesn't have the clutch ability that make Shaq and Kobe champions.

I'm certainly sick of the mentality that you have to be loyal to one of the two parties, because they'll be just slightly more to your views than the other parties. The way I see it right now, the Democrats are trying to turn the country into a socialist state by raising taxes to astronomical heights until everyone in the country is guaranteed a perfect life. The Republicans, meanwhile cut taxes, but instead of cutting spending to compensate for it, they just leave it at the same level, and mortgage the future by building up the deficit higher and higher. The thing is, that the two major parties have stopped trying to affect change, and have simply started adopting all the platforms of the other party that would help gain the voters in they very center, while they feel confident in theit core support. The mentality that being electable should be the prime concern over any doctrinal issues is what's causing all the problems in the country, and letting the government become way too powerful. In the upcoming presidential election, I'm voting for Michael Badnarik, (the Libertarian candidate), because even if the Libertarians never win a major office like that, if they get enough votes, they might at least make the major parties have to stretch themselves out a little bit, so that they're not carbon copies of each other.
