Don Vito arrested for touching little girls...
iggymcfly replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Television & Film
Is there actually a real source that says the girls were 12? I only saw that from people posting on message boards and shit. If that's true, it's kinda tough to defend him here. 12 year olds just don't look like 18 year olds. They look like little girls, and you can't be feeling them up no matter how drunk you are. Now if they were 15 or something, that's a totally different story. -
Yeah, that's not a bad idea, going with the receiving RBs, instead of just looking for receivers right off the bat. I decided to just take Portis, so I had somebody at RB, and then draft receivers and tight ends for the next four rounds. I really jumped the gun on Vick though, taking him in Round 5, when I probably could have got Housmandzadeh for my final receiver spot, and still had Vick waiting for me in Round 6. Still though, I got most of the receivers I wanted, so I should have a pretty good team. With Anquan Boldin, Santana Moss, Tony Gonzalez, and Lee Evans or Jerry Porter filling out the last spot, I should be pretty set on the cheap receiving yards.

I watched a repeat of the season opener the other day. (Didn't watch any episodes the first season.) It was interesting enough that I'll make sure to check out another episode or two at some point, but I'm not exactly hooked yet. It seemed like they were trying to devote too much energy to too many different subplots for a half hour show. They really should have put more focus into the DEA guy if they wanted that to carry the episode.

Probably more 360 bugs. They have all that stuff right on the PS2 version.

I don't know the players all that well in terms of fantasy value, since I missed the draft both times I tried to do a fantasy football league, but I think I have a really good strategy. I might not dominate like I did in the fantasy baseball league, but the Wiggers should definitely be a playoff team.

Bumped to say that the new Paris Hilton album is awesome. The tracks are really catchy and hearing Paris sing about "all the silly boys" is pretty amusing too. It comes off as cute rather than condescending the way she says it, like she just really likes the word "silly". Anyway, I'm listening to the whole album right now, and it's putting me in a really good mood just listening to it.

When I saw that GIF, I thought it was a botch that was supposed to be a powerbomb from the top rope. If the goal of the move was actually to jump to the outside, so that his head could be powerbombed to the side of the ring, possibly breaking his neck, then that's fucking crazy.

Interesting dynasty tidbit: I always score almost, but never exactly the same amount of points. This year I've scored 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40 points on the way to my 4-3 record.

You can turn the slow motion thing off in the options under "impact player camera change" or something like that. I only played about one game with it on before I changed it.

Well, I started off the season 1-3 with losses to Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech, so I pretty much needed to beat #3 Florida State to have a chance at any of my contract goals. (Beating Florida State was a contract goal.) I got out to an early 14-3 lead before FSU started shutting me down, and pretty much scoring at will themselves. They took a 33-14 lead with 4:00 left in the game on a pick six, and it looked like the game was pretty much over. Right? Right? Wrong. I got a quick TD, a three and out, another TD, another three and out, and got the ball back with 1:30 left. I drove down the field, scored another TD with 0:27 left, and even more impressively managed to keep FSU out of field goal range for another three plays winning 34-33. I was going to stop posting about dynasty games, but after making a 3 TD comeback in the 4th against the #3 team in the nation (yes, it's on Heisman with no AI advantages), I just had to post.

Auburn didn't go undefeated in 2003. They went undefeated in 2004. 2003 was the year that LSU and USC split the national championship, which is why Vern said "by avoiding a split national championship, every season but 2003 they've avoided real controversy."

I'm prett sure Sabu wins tonight. They've been setting up the Sabu/Big Show feud for weeks now, and they're obviously trying to save RVD/Show for some point down the line. Probably, RVD has the match won, Big Show comes down and chokeslams him off the ladder, and Sabu figures, "fuck RVD, he kicked me in the face last week" and just goes up top and grabs the ladder. Either way, I'm pretty pumped for the match tonight. My favorite wrestlers right now in all of WWE and ECW are in order: 1. RVD 2. Sabu 3. Kurt Angle Anything less than a ****1/4 performance and I'll be disappointed.
-
Seriously, there must be about ten on the front pages of their respective forums right now. Just because someone said Eddie's death wouldn't get exploited or because "Saved By The Bell the New Class" had a new box set doesn't mean we need to confuse everyone by dredging up old garbage from months or years ago. Just thought it would be good to nip this thing in the bud.

Sounds like the RVD/Angle/Sabu match this week is going to be really crucial in terms of the future of the brand. If that match manages to draw as big of a rating as some of the earlier shows, then they might let ECW keep going on its own without relying on a Raw tie-in every week for viewership. If the rating's down at all for any reason next week though, watch out. The show's going to get unwatchable again pretty quick. For the record, I'm pretty pumped for the match next week. I'm thinking **** at a minimum. The environment should suit Sabu really well, and with two really solid, motivated workers in the ring with him, I think it will be a hell of a match. I don't think Raw or Smackdown's even capable of putting out a main event that would grab my interest like that. In fact, if RVD wins, I might even have to watch Summerslam on the off chance he wins the title back.

Plans for Edge vs. Cena, Trish and Lita; news on HBK and MNM
iggymcfly replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in The WWE Folder
Wait a minute. How is no one else pissed off about this? They've been feuding since January. The feud's already lost it's heat to the point that no one gave a shit when they pulled the Dusty Finish at SNME, and now they're going to stretch it out another three months? That's terrible news! Edge/HBK? I'd be all over it. Edge/HHH? It would be a different twist. I'd be down. Cena/Umaga? I don't really want to see it, but at least it would be something new. Edge/Cena part XXVII? No fucking way. If they run that program past Summerslam, my wrestling viewing's going to be restricted to Tuesday nights only. -
I did notice one of my shitty corners went up a ridiculous amount over the off-season. He gained 12 rating points. Do you think maybe that was the guy I kept throwing picks to in the spring game?
-
Well, my last dynasty school on my old NCAA game, I was Boise State, so playing on the blue turf didn't have that much of a novelty for me. It was nice to finish the season with three straight wins though. It looked like Calvin Johnson was easily going to set the receiving record, but Hawaii kept grinding out 3:00 drives and getting onside kicks, and he ended up 6 yards short. Anyway, I couldn't believe how many players I lost in the off-season. I lost 12 players ranked 90 or higher including two 99s, and only have four players returning that were rated that high. Every single graduating senior (maybe 20 or 25 total) was at least an 80. I recruited OK, but not all that well, ending up with the #30 recruting class, so I'm thinking things will be tougher this year. My QB (one of the few returning starters) threw 6 INTs in the spring game, so I don't think that exactly bodes well either. Apparently, throwing non-stop hail marys late in the game doesn't work as well without an all-world receiver. The last bad thing is that for some reason, I couldn't schedule a game for Week 15, meaning I had to move the Georgia game all the way up to Week 2 just to keep them on the schedule. I really wasn't looking to put a big game that early since I got rid of the little advantages I'd been giving myself on the AI scale, and I wanted a couple scrub games to get used to my new team. Despite all the losses though, I'm ranked 28th going into the season and predicted to finish third in the ACC, so if I find a way to win some games, I should be able to move up fairly quickly. As it is though, I'm thinking it's good I hit those contract goals last season, because this might be a down year. My job performance rating's almost full, so unless I completely tank the season, I should be able to get my contract renewed and set up for a run to the BCS in 2009.

Well, I got my bowl bid. I stomped Georgia and I was briefly scheduled to play #24 Navy in the Emerald Bowl, but after VT beat #1 Florida State in the ACC Championship, giving the conference two BCS berths, I "moved up" to face Hawaii in the MPC Computers Bowl. Oh, and it's kind of interesting that everyone else keeps seeing teams get screwed by the BCS, because both years, there have been about 6 or 7 teams undefeated with three weeks left in the season only for things to magically work themselves out to get a undisputed title game between two undefeateds. This year, undefeated defending champion WVU was looking like they wouldn't even make the title game until FSU picked up the aforementioned loss to Va. Tech. Minnesota, Oregon, LSU, and TCU were also all undefeated going into Week 13 before losing one or two games each. Now, we have #1 Texas vs. #2 WVU for all the marbles. I'm only getting 10 starters back next year (really 9 since I play my nickel corner more than my third linebacker), so I imagine things are going to get tougher, but with two contract goals reached, I should at least be able to stick around until I can build the program back up. Losing Calvin Johnson is really going to hurt as he set school records for receptions, yards, and TDs this year, finished third in the Heisman voting on a 7-5 team, and only needs 150 yards against Hawaii in the bowl game to set the single-season NCAA record for receiving yards.
-
Well, looking at the real bowl tie-ins, the ACC is supposed to get guaranteed bowl berths for its top eight teams. I finished 7th in the conference at 4-4 (after beating Virginia 38-8), so I shouldn't need an at-large bid. Looking at the latest projections, I wasn't in though, as they did have small conference at-large teams filling up the bids as at-larges. I'm hoping it's just because they don't really expect me to beat Georgia and finish over .500 with six I-A wins, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'll tell you, if I finish 7-5 with wins over Miami and Georgia and get passed over for Middle Tennessee State, I'm going to be pissed off.
-
Apparently, I'm not as good at this as I thought just yet. After my win over Miami left me dreaming of an ACC title and a trip to the Orange Bowl, I got pulled back down to earth hard by Clemson who shut me out 54-0. They got the momentum early, and all of a sudden my QB started missing open receivers by ten yards and throwing picks to defenders that shouldn't have even been in the play. I followed that up with a 23-7 loss to Maryland and now I'm danger of not even making a bowl at 5-5. I've got Virginia and Georgia remaining on my schedule, and I'm not sure if I need to beat one or both of them to make a bowl, but I'm looking sketchy any way. Even if I finish 6-6 though, beating Georgia should be enough to keep my job safe, as that would leave me with 2 out of 3 contract goals complete for the year. (Beating Miami was the other.)
-
You think undefeated Auburn being left out of the national title game for an Oklahoma team that wasn't even on USC's level "avoided controversy"? You're crazy. They need a plus one game at the bare minimum, and they really need an 8-team playoff.
-
I like how everyone just forgets this guy exists. He's only been out of the WWE for two and a half years.
-
They don't need three retired stars, but they do need at least one that can sell the Raw main event, because neither Cena nor HHH will draw on their own enough to carry the show this year. I think the only main events that would really draw well as huge matches are: 1. Rock vs. Cena: This is probably the best choice. They could cement a Cena heel turn instantly, and the match would have nuclear heat with all the people who have gotten sick of him over the last couple years. The superface of the past vs. the superface of the present would give it a real epic feel too. 2. HHH vs. Brock Lesnar: Lesnar's kind of been overlooked here as someone that could carry the show, but he has instant credibility as a monster heel, and I think if he challenged HHH for the World title, it would sell pretty well. 3. Austin vs. Hogan: This is a weaker choice as far as I'm concerned, as it doesn't really accomplish anything, but at the least, it gives a big money match that people will pay to see. Failing any of those, I think the best choice is probably HHH vs. RVD. If both men have been face champions for a while, I think a clash between the two of them could have a lot of heat. It would be a battle of the serious hardcore ECW style vs. the goofy entertainment gimmicks of the WWE, and fans on both sides could be pretty passionate. It might not set any attendance records, but it would at least feel like more than a typical Raw ME.
-
I'd rather Hogan never win a match again. Ever. Every time he goes out there, it makes me sick to my stomach.

I meant actually hit the bar scene and to try to pick a girl up there. Obviously, if you're with some boring fat chick that you have no chemistry with, two drinks isn't going to save the date.
