Two weeks in a row of thrilling Rams action! I've thought of going to bars to try and watch Saints games, but I get too nervous watching them.

I’m getting a little worried about Righteous Kill [opens wide September 12], which I wrote earlier about here. It won’t screen till less than 48 hours before it opens, which is almost as bad as not screening at all (because it means any critic who writes for a weekly will miss his or her deadline for getting a review out by opening day, and critics at daily newspapers are pressed, too; come to think of it, it’s not too great for online critics, either, because it means we have no time to think about our reaction to a film before we have to write about it, if we want to have a review up on opening day). http://www.flickfilosopher.com/blog/2008/0...s_choke_ig.html They really shouldn't have gotten a hack director to do Righteous Kill.

fantasymoguls hasn't posted tracking numbers yet. The Bob Barron tracking thinks it will go this way- 1) Tyler Perry Movie 20-25 mil 2) Righteous Kill 17 mil 3) Burn After Reading 10 mil 4) Woman 8 mil 5) Tropic Thunder 4.55 6) House Bunny 3.7 7) Bangok Dangerous 3.6 8) TDK 3.52 9) Traitor 2.31 10) Death Race 2.18 I think this is TDK's last gasp in the top 10

WWE General Discussion - September 2008

What do you mean by you people? -
I really enjoyed the episode tonight. The Shirley Manson twist got me as well

Don't disrespect Josh Daniels. Swagger/Hager is only 6'4, so you can see how tall Daniels is but don't let his height fool you. If I recall Josh Daniels from ROH, he was really unimpressive.
-
No, the way to logically explain it is that he kicks them in the head as hard he could.

Who is Adam?

Now is probably not the best time to root for the Raiders. I don't mind rooting for losing teams, especially ones who are near enough to allow me to watch all their games. And boy oh boy, is this a losing team. I don't really think last night's loss was anyone's fault but the offensive line. They were dreadful. DeAngelo Hall was mighty shitty as well. Oh yeah, it's his fault too. Didn't I argue with Ripper about this a few years ago? Yeah, Hall sucks dick. I thought you were a Jags fan, why the change?

Someone beat me to telling Taiga she should kill herself. Darn. But really Taiga, you should kill yourself.

The Eddy Guerrero is alive thread is tremendous.

F4W/WON WWE Notes - September 9th - 15th

Edge is made of glass it seems like. Poor guy. -
I don't remember him kicking him on a weekly basis, but RVD won the match on a total fluke, and then was kicked in the head and never seen again. I know the Louisville boys have some obsessed hatred with all things Orton, but the Kick of Death is over.
-
Well I'm sold, especially given how anti-Punk you are. Also, a lot of the heat Punk has on him is because he doesn't go drinking with the boys because of he's sXe.
-
It's not a gimmick. Punk really is sXe.
-
Now is probably not the best time to root for the Raiders.

That would be Mike Bell in THIS match: http://www.wrestlinggonewrong.com/video/sa...bell_match.html There are two different Saturn v. jobber matches that had an incident. One is Saturn v. Bell, the other is Saturn v. idiot jobber. Not the same thing.
-
I do like the idea of Punk and a group of guys feuding with the Priceless Stable. He already has Kofi and Cryme Tyme to make it 4-on-4. And of course Cena never got his revenge on Orton.
-
They were trying to get him over bigtime. Vince thought the underdog thing would work and that's why they kept pushing the story of Punk surviving in spite of the fact that no one believed in him. That was more JBL, and Punk beat him three times. That I agree with. But they soon realised that Punk was selling a lot of merch for someone in his position and decided to pull the trigger. ?. He lost to Jericho (which was bullshit), and the handicap match. Not really, given the politics of Rey's win. Rey only became champ b/c Orton was a fuckup and because Patterson finally convinced Vince that the moment of Rey's reign was worth more than putting it on drug addicted Kurt Angle.
-
Being there live tends to change your perspective from watching it on TV
-
The McMahons and the creative team are high on him and were pleased with his title reign. They need to establish that Punk's reign wasn't a fluke and he can still hang with the established main eventers to show the fans they're serious about pushing new faces
-
Punk's storyline is underdog champion who nobody thinks can win. The setup for the scramble match was THE CHAMPION ONLY HAS 20 PERCENT CHANCE, HE WILL NOT WIN OMG. Perfect for Punk. Also, Stephanie and Shane made the match, they just had Adamle announce it.
-
They never should've taken out Punk to begin with. Just because he was the best option doesn't make it a wonderful ending. What I read in the WON was that they were high on Punk as champion, and he was getting over. I think it was too soon to take the belt off of him, and the scramble match concept was perfect for the story of Punk's reign. And he's not even in the match.
-
They took out their world champion, whose storyline defined the scramble match, right before the main event. Yes, it does. There's a difference between Punk not wrestling at all, and Punk not going wire to wire. I bought the PPV to see Punk wrestle, not to see him get taken out with a stupid storyline injury then sit through a listless 15 minute scramble of Batista-Kane brawling that we saw two weeks ago on RAW
-
Jericho winning doesn't make it a wonderful ending. It was obvious once he entered he was just going to do the chickenshit pin. This is also what, the 100th time in the past two years, Batista has come OHSOCLOSE TO THE WORLD TITLE, THE LOOK OF DISBELIEF ON HIS FACE. Yes. thanks for screwing over the paying customer!
