Can we have a list of all the black posters at TSM to narrow it down?
-
That would work but Jannetty was released at that point because of being a druggie.

I remember PWI did a cover story hyping up Wrestlemania IX saying the fact that they didn't have Hogan was no problem, and mentioned Tenyru being one of the reasons why. Then Hogan came back a week later, and they looked stupid. I can't get into Savage-Heenan-JR just because Savage is so bad.
-
I just think all of the labels are stupid. Another Wrestlemania IX question: Why didn't they have Jerry Lawler wrestling on the show? That's another name that was left off that could've done something, and the poor guy still hasn't wrestled at Mania
-
I've always just hated the term, and think it's silly. We're all fans of wrestling, the end. Bobby Heenan yelling that the two Doinks was an illusion still makes me laugh
-
Sort of smark and actual smark? Come on. And Russo's booking was awesome in 98, it's 99 with the Ministry-Corporation nonsense where he started to lose focus. Survivor Series 98 is a credit to Russo, not a discredit. Yes, the matches all suck, but it really tells a great story throughout the show, with the Rock and Mankind's run to the tournament finals, and it also set the next few months of feuds in motion.
-
Because they're awesome? That game gave me a heart attack
-
I think their WM X match is worse, their WM IX match is decent. I love Bret's strategy for the match. I heard their cage matches in summer 93 were really good
-
Yes, there was. Earl Hebner defeated him, Mick Foley was special guest ref
-
I saw Funny Games last night. What a fucked up film
-
And one of their biggest stars, Savage isn't even on the show. I always thought they should've done Perfect-Flair at Wrestlemania and used Savage to put over Luger.
-
I remember when I rented Wrestlemania 8, as a Bulldog fan, that made me happy to see that they were looking out for his fans. Weird how Wrestlemania 8-10 all had matches cancelled for time constraints.
-
The problem with the show is they seemed to book themselves into a corner with all the matches: They don't want to take the belt off HBK, but don't want to end Tatanka's undefeated streak. They want to push Narcissist to the moon, but don't want to have Perfect do a clean job since he just beat Flair. They can't put the belts on the Megamaniacs, but Hogan can't job. They can't job Bret cleanly, because then Hogan has no reason to come out and protest. They should've just had Giant Gonzales win, it would've killed the stupid streak before it began and saved everyone a lot of trouble in later years. Also, if they're pushing the Steiners, they should've made the match an exhibition for them, not the Headshrinkers controlling most of the way. And why does Razor Ramon beat Backlund with a cradle- destroy him with the Edge. Such a bad show.

He doesn't want to go to Smackdown! because it would mess with his Wednesday bible study
-
Let's see: A countout in the I-C title match, two DQs, and a 26 second title match. It's Wrestlemania! I will say that the atmosphere for the show is awesome, and Caesar's Palace was a great place to hold the show.

TSM Town Hall: Triple H/Stephanie/Kurt Love Triangle
bob_barron replied to Dandy's topic in The WWE Folder
The angle never really ended though. Stephanie kicked Angle in the balls, but then became his manager a month later, while HHH awkwardly turned face for a month before being turned heel again to salvage the Austin angle. While everyone agrees it was a good angle, it just ended randomly and they moved onto other things. It really didn't help anyone, since Angle was made to look like a joke his entire reign anyway. Then don't even put the questions in then. -

I always enjoy when the black rapper shows up to sing on the song- it makes laugh

If someone put a gun to your mother's head and threatened to shoot unless you had sex with your mole or adminbot, what would you do?

SNL Review- Jonah Hill/Mariah Carey Cold Opening Cast- Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig Thoughts- It was nice to get a break from the Hillary and Obama lovefest. I’m sure we’ll get a lot of stuff in April though. As great an impressionist as he is, I felt Bill’s Spitzer was really lacking. Granted, there isn’t much to work with but his New York accent was on and off. It was like watching Helen Hunt in As Good As It Gets. Some funny lines, but it’s not the way I would’ve poked fun at the Spitzer scandal. Kristen was awesome though.**1/2 Monologue Cast- Jonah Hill, Amy Poehler, Kenan Thompson, Jason Sudeikis, Andy Samberg, Will Forte Thoughts- Really, Jonah’s the host and the best they come up with him is a sing along? He’s Jonah, just let him go out there, tell some jokes and be done with it. This is the second week in a row that the host introduced themselves as well. (Don’t remember if Ellen Page did). And I was surprised that Jonah was able to fit through the host door. Yikes! There were some funny lines, and I liked Kenan’s face, but- Amy Adams singing: Yes. Jonah Hill singing: No *3/4 Macgruber Cast- Hill, Forte, Wiig Thoughts- Why? I hope Kristen is honoured to be the new Macgruber female foil. DUD What’s Your Situation Cast- Hill, Wiig, Poehler, Casey Wilson Thoughts- How did the girls not get what the show was, given that it was called What’s Your Situation? Of course this could’ve been a tryout for the game show, but still. I enjoyed the reference to White Plains (second one this season counting Rogen dress). Thought this was pretty bad, but I loved him and Kristen in the isolation booth. ** I’m Six Cast- Hill, Hader, Wiig, Poehler, Sudeikis, Armisen Wilson Thoughts- Holy hell was Jonah annoying in this one. In Superbad when he did this it was funny, but here, I just wanted to violently punch him in the face. Only on SNL, could Fred play both a black guy and an Asian guy. Also, on the Suite Life of Zach and Cody, they do not have a butler. Given how Ellen Page messed up Hannah Montana and this, I should be a Disney Channel consultant at SNL or something. Jonah had a few funny lines, but the rest was cringe inducing. * Macgruber Cast- Hill, Forte, Wiig Thoughts- I think this might have been the first time I actually laughed at Macgruber. That counts for something. *1/2 Suze Orman Cast- Hill, Wiig Thoughts- I don’t watch the Suze Orman show, so some of this was probably lose on me. Of course, given my TV habits, in order to for me to get a TV parody, SNL would have to mock NHL Centre Ice or something. Bill could play Jim Hughson. Kristen, who has been great recently, did everything she could to get me to really like this to really succeed but they spent a bit to much time talking about the jackets. The bit with Jonah was really funny, one of the few times I liked Jonah in the show. **1/2 SNL Digital Short Cast- Hill, Jim Downey, Samberg, Hader, Thoughts- Jim Downey!!!! It is always great to see Downey back on SNL. As president and only member of the Jim Downey fan club, it’s weird seeing him get all this media attention. You can tell that Downey is stunned by it too. Also, definitely pick up There Will Be Blood on DVD. Not because it’s an awesome movie, because it is, but Downey is in it which so far has been the highlight of my 2008. It was also great to have Jorma back and writing, hopefully this a permanent thing. This was hilarious, as Andy played his part well, Downey was great and I loved the story of how they met, and Bill’s walk-on part at the end. Kudos to Downey for taking one for the team with Jonah, and I think it was neat of them to put him in a skit after all the media attention he’s gotten recently. **** Mariah Carey Thoughts- That’s cool that Mariah was able to step in on a few days notice and replace Janet. Probably for the better as well. I like Mariah but I do question anyone whose idea for a great music video is to have Jack McBrayer in it. I love Jack and all, but really- Mariah Carey videos is not where he belongs. Mariah’s never going to top Honey though. Anyway, this was decent. **1/2 Weekend Update Cast- Tracy Morgan, Poehler, Seth Meyers, Thoughts- It’s official. I love the Seth-Amy team. I mean, I always thought Seth was amazing, but Amy is definitely doing enough of her share to make me officially love the Meyers-Poehler team. Sadly, it doesn’t roll off the tongue like Fallon-Fey, but it’s awesome. Tons of great jokes this week, and Seth continues to just knock them out of the park each week. And they brought back Really which is really awesome. I think it might be my favourite thing about Update, and I like it even more than some of Tina’s rants. Yea, I said it. And the line about Larry Craig killed me. It’s always great to see Tracy back at the desk, his commentaries always seem to deliver. He looked like he had been hanging out a bit too much with Jonah before the show (I hope he wasn’t driving!), but was hilarious. I always felt that on 30 Rock, Tracy just shows up and says some funny stuff, not realising he’s actually on a real TV show. I also felt it was nice of SNL to give a rebuttal to Tina’s terrible Hillary endorsement. “Bitch may be the new black, but black is the new president. Bitch!”, might be the line of the year. Just a fantastic Update, and I hope they can continue the momentum for the rest of the season. ****1/2 Target Cast- Hill, Forte, Wiig, Poehler, Samberg Thoughts- Kristen, I want to love you and all, but enough with your awful recurring characters. Target lady is brutal. Jonah’s fruitless attempts at asking the girl out were funny, especially when he wrote the card like a letter to him and signed it with the girls name. The rest was Target Lady crap. *1/2 NBC Special Report Cast- Forte, Darrell Hammond, Armisen, Poehler Thoughts- I seriously think it’s a running gag for Lorne to keep Darrell at the show until 12:30 a.m. in an attempt to mess with his mind. Dude’s got Matlock reruns to watch, Season 3 is quite the barn-burner. ***1/4 With Mah Dick in Mah Hand Cast- Hill, Forte, Wiig Thoughts- Oh Jonah, there’s a reason you don’t imbibe in substances and then host SNL. I just realised after typing that that my argument is shot to hell given the great shows put on by Snoop Dogg and Cameron Diaz. And Tracy’s commentary tonight. Anyway, don’t know what this was supposed to be but I guess it fits the quota for a bizarre Will Forte skit. * Mariah Carey Thoughts- I liked this song more than the first one. It helped that I can’t associate this song with Jack McBrayer. And seeing T-Pain is never a bad thing. ***1/4 Tad’s Steaks Cast- Hill, Wilson Thoughts- It took them four episodes, but they finally managed to work in the fact that Casey Wilson has huge boobs. She had to feel intimidated with Jonah hosting, given someone gave her a run for the money in the cup-size department. This was excellent for a last skit, with both guys getting in some good lines, especially the stuff about the Vagina monologues. And come on, Casey mentioned her breasts, that’s gotta be worth something. ***1/2 The Bottom Line- Avg. skit was **.3 making this a thumbs in the middle show. The first half was awful, but Update seemed to light a spark in everyone, and it made for a better second half. Even though I love him in movies, I didn’t particularly care for Jonah as a host, he just came off really obnoxious in too many of the skits. Given that this was their fourth show in a row, you can’t fault them for effort. And the next episode is Walken, which should be a blast. Thumbs in the Middle

SNL Review- Amy Adams/Vampire Weekend Cold Opening Cast- Amy Poehler, Fred Armisen Thoughts- Poor Jim Downey. I think he rues the day John Edwards got the expensive haircut and killed any chances of him being president. This was funnier than the two debates, but it seems like they did a Obama-Clinton cold opening because they had to, not because Downey was inspired to. I liked this though, and Amy’s Hillary is enjoyable, even though Fred’s Obama continues to lag about. *** Monologue Cast- Amy Adams, Kristen Wiig Thoughts- I was informed that this monologue was a reference to the musical Wicked, which I have not seen nor do I know anything about. But I love Amy Adams, and I love Amy Adams even more when she sings, so I enjoyed this more than it had every right to be enjoyed. ***1/4 Mirror Image Cast- Adams, Wiig, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg Thoughts- I admit that when the skit began I thought: Huh, there’s no show on ABC Family called Mirror Image. Alas, there is not. Amy Adams was hilarious here, and I loved her winking, but didn’t care much for Wiig’s farting antics. I did like the line about how they change schools everyday, that made me laugh. And it was a clever way of paying of the monologue. And Amy Adams is hot. **3/4 Couples Therapy Cast- Adams, Poehler, Forte Thoughts- This was very well-written, and at this point, Will Forte can do these skits in this sleep. I like that his character wasn’t a dirtbag, and actually really loved Amy’s character. Fans of Amy Adams will note that she played a similar oblivious character in the Ex, which sadly, I saw. Though not because of Amy Adams. Lots of good lines here, and good performances too! ***1/2 SNL Digital Short Cast- Adams, Sudeikis, Samberg Thoughts- I wonder why Jorma left, I mean Hot Rod didn’t actually set the box office on fire. Even though I saw it opening night. Andy’s song went on for much too long, but the payoff of Jason beating the crap out of him while Amy Adams just watched was great. Come back Jorma! *** Project Runway Cast- Adams, Hader, Poehler, Wilson Thoughts- This one went completely over my head since I do not watch Project Runway. Amy Adams as Heidi Klum made me laugh a little but everything else was lost on me. ¼* Vampire Weekend Thoughts- Who the hell is Vampire Weekend? It’s a pretty cool name if nothing else. I had heard some of their stuff on Alt Nation a few days before this and they’re a pretty solid band if nothing else and this was a good song. ***1/4 Weekend Update Cast- Poehler, Seth Meyers, Thompson, Forte Thoughts- When did Seth and Amy officially awesome? I think they’re starting to sniff Fallon Fey, and that’s without vagina jokes. It’s a good combination of a slowly improving Amy and Seth’s know-it-all demeanour that’s not as horribly smug like Jon Stewart. Lots of great jokes here, even though they fell off a bit toward the end. I loved Mike Huckabee, thought Rudy was clever, and felt Hillary was reaching. But TIM CALHOUN??? Awesome. I was waiting for Forte to bust this out, I mean his candidacy is as legitimate as Mike Gravel’s. Kenan’s European comic was so awful that I had to laugh. Great Update, and I hope we can get a run of Updates like this to finish out the season. **** Penelope Cast- Adams, Wiig, Thompson, Hader, Wilson Thoughts- Sadly, the movie Penelope starring Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon is not about a girl who embellishes her life. It’s about a girl with a pig nose. Penelope managed to rise above the usual Penelope awfulness with the bit about George Washington. That actually made me laugh a lot. *1/4 Dr. Uncle Jimmy’s Cast- Adams, Forte, Hader, Sudeikis, Thompson, Samberg Thoughts- Bizarre Will Forte!! A lot of things to like here, and I had to rewatch it again to really give it a proper rating. While on second viewing, it didn’t hold up quite as much as I wanted to, (it ran on a little too long), it was very funny. I think my favourite part was Jason questioning his blood bag and Andy silently switching them in the background, and the quote from the police report was hilarious. Amy’s walk-on cameo as Ellen Pompeo didn’t work for me, and it’s the one time I didn’t find her attractive. Then again, Ellen Pompeo is pretty bleh, so maybe that was the point? ***3/4 Roger Clemens Cast- Adams, Sudeikis, Darrell Hammond, Hader, Armisen, Poehler, Samberg, Forte, Thompson Thoughts- A swing and a miss by Seth. Apparently this didn’t play well at Ellen Page, so they brought it back here. I think they missed the boat on Clemens, since he’s disappeared off the front pages. Jason’s Clemens was funny, but none of the one-acts worked for me. * Tookie Styles and Zookie Styles Cast- Adams, Thompson, Armisen, Samberg, Hader, Sudeikis, Thoughts- This was awful, but I liked it just the same. Kenan was really funny here, and I loved Bill Hader’s reaction to doing the Zookie dance before getting shot at. I loved the setup for the final bit with Amy Adams, with her on and off Irish accent and her forgetting her purse. Don’t know why I laughed so hard at it, but I really did. **1/4 Vampire Weekend Thoughts- Another solid performance by the band. I wonder if with the writers strike curtailed the booking for a lot of musical guests since really- Vampire Weekend? Then again last year the hosts were a whose who of C-listers, so the bookers really suck. ***1/4 Dance Fever Cast- Adams, Poehler, Hader, Wilson, Wiig, Sudeikis, Forte, Thompson Thoughts- Damn, was Amy Adams looking hot in this skit. Of course it was terrible as most of the skits revolving all the girls are, but I was watching Amy Adams. And Enchanted rules, I don’t care what anyone says. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day is also better than any movie called Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day should be. * The Bottom Line- The avg. skit was **.57 making this a thumbs up show. Amy Adams was an excellent and was a highlight in many of the skits. While there were a few clunkers here and there, the show was helped out by a solid musical guest and an excellent Weekend Update. Any show that does a skit about a BBQ joint performing surgery is going to be a fun show in my books. Thumbs Up

Yes, that was about all the WWE news in the Observer. Don't be greedy, mole. And others who complain.
