  1. It may not be ideal, but do you have a better solution? The team with the better record gets it. Yeah but 100 wins in the NL is not the same as 100 in the AL. They aren't playing the same teams. It's better then it going to the winner of a fucking exhibition game. The game winning hit was provided by Michael Young, the guy who blew the game was Trevor Hoffman. Neither of those players will probably be in the World Series, so why should a team like the Mets get penalised because Hoffman choked it?
  2. I hate TBS' limited schedule of them as it is. Oh no, we need to show 4 episodes of Friends!

  4. That's awful, this is going to really hurt the Braves. It's going to make it very hard to follow the team.
  5. It's Rocky training to fight in a match where he's the longshot. It's the exact same as the other movies. (Well except V) This isn't a new book
  6. I still don't get how this home field in the WS rule makes any sense.
  7. Tons of ROH wrestlers have gotten heel heat. Look at the Embassy or CM Punk during his heel runs. The rest of what you said is also wrong too.
  8. I love Boston Public too for that same reason. It's so bad, but you have to love it. The episode where they get Whitney Houston to play at the prom...quality. The best moment was anything Kimberly Woods did. I loved that character.
  9. Thanks to NASA...we have sports bras?
  10. Canadian Press 7/11/2006 5:17:02 PM WHISTLER, B.C. (CP) - There will soon be a new president of the NHL Players' Association. Trevor Linden announced Tuesday at the NHLPA's summer meeting that he will not seek re-election for the position he has held since June 1998. The NHLPA's new executive committee is expected to be announced Wednesday. Linden, a 36-year-old native of Medicine Hat, Alta., is an unrestricted free agent. He played all 82 games for the Vancouver Canucks last season, recording seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in his 17th NHL season. Since entering the league in 1988, Linden has 356 goals and 474 assists for 830 points in 1,243 career games with the Canucks, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals. Linden helped broker the deal last summer that ended the year-long NHL lockout that wiped out the 2004-05 season.
  11. Wait...does this mean no more Braves on TBS?
  12. And they always fucking won! Even when they were CLEARLY guilty. Bobby Donell was guilty as hell and he got off. WTF?
  13. Boston Public was never good to begin with. I love that show, but it was so bad. The Practice got bad when every case became the same. The person's guilty, they play on reasonable doubt to get them off, they win and then deal with their conscience. And you know you've run out of storylines when two people on the show end up getting charged for murder.
  14. Ice Chips for Tuesday, July 11 (tsn.ca) Nicklas Backstrom, the Capitals' top draft pick last month, informed the club Monday he won't be coming to Washington next season but will instead continue playing in his native Sweden for another year. - The Washington Post Battaglia, a prominent part of the Hurricanes team that defeated the Leafs in the 2002 Eastern Conference final, played for the Toronto Marlies last season on an American Hockey League contract and could not be called up to the big team. But the Maple Leafs last week signed Battaglia to a two-way NHL deal. The 30-year-old Battaglia, who has played 458 career NHL games, will likely be used as an injury fill-in for the Leafs, but he will be given a chance to win a job in training camp. - The Toronto Star Brian Leetch's next Garden game could come as Blueshirt. Barring a medical miracle, Sandis Ozolinsh not only won't be ready for training camp, he'll miss a chunk of the 2006-07 season, potentially leaving room for the Rangers to make Leetch their power play quarterback. - NY Daily News The Hawks would like to sign Kyle Calder to a long-term contract, but it's believed he wants a one-year deal in order to test the free-agent market next summer. - Arlington Heights Daily Herald The agent for goaltender Ed Belfour sounded optimistic that a deal could be announced as soon as today. "We are moving towards our mutual goal of making Ed Belfour a Red Wing," Ron Salcer, Belfour's agent, said Monday evening. - Detroit Free Press Michael Rupp signed a one-year contract yesterday to return to the Devils, the team with which he started his NHL career. He's less than four months removed from surgery to correct an abnormality in his heart's electrical system. He suffers from Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. - Newark Star-Ledger While still unconfirmed, it's likely the Panthers will play the Rangers in an exhibition game Sept. 23 in Puerto Rico. - South Florida Sun-Sentinel
  15. The plot sounds insanely idiotic, but I know I'm going to love every second of this movie
  16. No, the people who complain about people complaining about the crowds are worse. I just love that people always seem to get bent out of shape about the ROH crowds. OMG THEY CHANT THIS OR CHANT THAT OR THEY DIDNT SHOW PROPER RESPECT- I mean really, there are a lot of things you can criticise ROH on, picking on the crowd is just lame
  17. Yea, you look like Baba Booey.
  18. Bacon tastes good
  19. I'm sorry but bitching to an athlete for not doing a sign and trade is really reaching. Without Ben Wallace, the Pistons wouldn't have a won a title. It goes both ways.
  20. Yea, real is a better word for it. I noticed in the second half of the season, they started to do more episodes like that, and it made The Office a better shpw for it. Based on interviews I've read, it sounds like it's going to be a love triangle this season. David Denman (Roy) is hoping that they do a bit to humanise Roy, and I agree. It'd be nice to see things from his side of the story, and explore why him and Pam are together.
  21. I know he had a disappointing playoffs, but what's so awful about Legace? Eddie's one of my favourite players....but the guy's done.
  22. I saw David Cross last week when I went to see Lollilove. Didn't say anything to him though. I don't think the commentares are that great. There's too many people talking and you never really learn anything about the show. And I think it's great Gob got an Emmy nomination. He deserves to win.
  23. I actually hope they do more melancholy depressing episodes. I still want the show to be hilarious, but I really like when they take chances and do dramatic scenes.
  24. Ice Chips for Monday, July 10- (tsn.ca) The Brendan Shanahan signing means Petr Sykora won't be back witht he Rangers, but Martin Rucinsky is expected to be re-signed to a one-year deal. - NY Post, NY Daily News The Blueshirts are considering bringing back former New York Rangers blueliner Brian Leetch. - Toronto Sun The Red Wings have cap room to bring in a possible replacement for Brendan Shanahan, with $13 million to spend. Wings GM Ken Holland also says he'll make a decision soon regarding his goaltending, where it's believed he may make a contract offer to Ed Belfour. Holland also suggested Dominik Hasek is in the mix. - Detroit News Predators GM David Poile is likely finished making forays into the UFA market, but with his depth at forward could explore a trade. - The Tennessean Also from tsn- The Vancouver Sun reports that the Canucks will announce early this week they have signed free agent centre Marc Chouinard to a two-year, $2 million US contract. In five NHL seasons with the Wild and Anaheim Ducks, Chouinard has 35 goals and 74 points in 278 games. Rangers defenceman Sandis Ozolinsh underwent successful knee surgery in Colorado. GM Glen Sather expects Ozolinsh to be on the ice for training camp in September.- NY Post
