Again, if you compare Batman Begins to OTHER blockbusters and the other Batman movies, you will see that the numbers it did are not that great

Hassan is obviously going to SD! -
I want to see Batman Begins as well, but the trailer and ads don't have the 'Must See This Now' feeling that Spiderman 1 and 2 had.
-
Well you're flat out wrong there. His two matches with Gibson, the cage match with Cabana, the 5/7 match v. Shelley and the matches where he won and lost the belt

I've seen Cheaper by the Dozen about 45 times on HBO or Cinemax. No matter what part of the movie it is, I'll sit and watch the whole way through. I went from thinking it was just okay, to really enjoying it. And A Cinderella Story is pretty awesome, even if the middle 20-30 minutes, where she won't tell Austin and he's too stupid to put 2 and 2 together, gets old fast.

I still don't think Punk should've no-sold a Pepsi Plunge and 450 like he did.

Aries looked like a bitch in my eyes. Punk no-sold a Pepsi Plunge and a 450 Splash. In my eyes, that made Aries look weak

That's probably the worst of her 4 starring roles, since there's way too many plot holes and things that are really hard to accept. It's still a fun movie, and I love the ending and Alex Bornstein as the teacher. And Gordo and Ethan are awesome as always. A Cinderella Story, Perfect Man and Raise Your Voice are much better. And even though the ending and the scene with her father is cliche, at least in RYV she tried to branch out.

When she utters a classic line like: "Try something different?? Eating a peanut butter and glue sandwich is something different!" you kinda have to

They don't want to alienate their young fanbases. Do the 13 year olds stare at you in the theater? "Hey, is that that boy from social studies class?" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Her last two movies, I went on Friday morning at 11 for the first show there was really no one there. Also, the movies made no money, so no one was ever there to begin with. At RYV it was me, my friend, two little girls, their mom, and a creepy old man. At TPM it was me, my friend, two women together, a woman in the back and I think someone else. I liked that no one was there, because me and my friend got to do our own running commentary. Hilary doesn't make movies with Disney anymore but I see your point. What pisses me off about Rosman is that he acted like TPM would be all dark and not like a Hilary movie. While it wasn't as light and fluffy as ACS, he pretty much was full of shit. Raise Your Voice to an extent was Hilary showing off her range and her acting ability but New Line didn't really know what to do it and marketed it as a typical Hilary fluff picture when it was just the opposite. The DVD box fails to mention that much of the movie is sad and depressing. I think had the movie had a better director, some of the scenes at the end (especially the one with her and her father) wouldn't have seem so cliched and played.

Hilary split with Disney two years ago. She's only associated with them via her music, which is on the Hollywood Records label, an off-shoot of Disney.

I agree with you that Johansen does more mature work. Part of it is that she looks much older then she is. I was shocked when I found out I was older her. Plus Johansen never had a big fanbase growing up like Duff or Lohan, so she can be a lot more choosier in which roles she takes. She also probably gets offered less commercially viable but more critically viable material for the same reason.
-
I've never liked her in anything I've seen. In both Lost in Translation and In Good Company, I found her to be more annoying then anything else, and she just gets on my nerves.

They don't want to alienate their young fanbases. Lindsay did in Mean Girls and Hilary did really well in Raise Your Voice. They were all much older then 17 and 18 when they took those roles. But Scarlett Johanson is really terrible. Plus she looks a lot older then she really is. Well part of it is typecasting. No one really wants to cast Hilary or Lindsay in some serious drama because they don't think anyone will go see it, and they think it will just be another way for the critics to mock them. Hilary's movie Outward Blonde was rumoured to be somewhat against type but that seems to have gotten pushed to the back burner behind her touring, Cheaper 2 and Material Girls. I really hope she does another movie like RYV, but with a better director. A movie like Sisterhood where she was part of an ensemble would be a really good move

I agree. Punk winning- I'm fine with that. Punk turning heel- Even better. Daniels showing up- Awesome. Punk just running away and Daniels cutting a dumb promo and then walking to the back- not so much. But in the end the highlight of the show was: S-T-R-O-N-G. What's that spell? STRONG! STRONG! STRONG!

I saw a few commercials during What I Like About You, and I saw the ads at the website. JMA, you probably don't watch the stuff that appeals to the demographic.

I plan on easing the pain by seeing Perfect Man again this week. There's one scene that Ebert really didn't like that I think he may have gotten wrong and I want to see it just to see who was right. Plus Hilary has some great lines in the movie. Actually, LL's newest movie (post-Herbie) sounds like Material Girls. I do

The funny thing about TPM is that in this one, her mom clearly has some pretty bad mental issues, but the movie never really feels like addressing that. Her Jewish boyfriend in the movie was pretty pimp though.

If you want to talk about Batman well...go ahead. No one is stopping you
-
Batman didn't do as well as people hoped either. And I will care about her movie career, and I think it sucks she had another box office flop.
-
Monster in Law was more of a date movie. Sisterhood and Perfect Man were going after the same audience, but I don't think Sisterhood hurt TPM that much. Hilary really needs to hook up with a good director now. Mark Rosman was pretty terrible at directing TPM and MacNamara's direction was my only complaint about RYV.

Joey Matthews didn't have a developmental deal.
