  1. HHH v. Chris Benoit. Big “HHH” chant from the crowd. HHH goes for the knee quickly and pounds on it, bigtime. Vicious stuff. PSYCHOLOGY~!, gotta love it. He even pulls out a Muta bridging deathlock. They head out and Benoit introduces him to the stairs. Back in, for some CANADIAN VIOLENCE! Single-arm DDT hurts HHH’s shoulder, and Benoit goes to work. He pulls out a hammerlock backdrop suplex, which is pretty insane. Northern Lights suplex gets two. Back outside, Benoit hotshots him onto the table. Snap suplex gets two. He tries the cross-armbreaker for a bit, then hits another hammerlock suplex and drives the diving headbutt into HHH’s shoulder. HHH comes back with a small package and an inverted suplex (called properly by LAWLER of all people!) . Slugfest, and HHH’s neckbreaker gets two. HHH superplex, but Benoit comes back with the rolling germans and a pair of bad-looking dragon suplexes for two. Benoit hits the crossface, but HHH powers out. Benoit beats him like a dog and slaps it on again, and HHH powers out again…and turns it into a DVD! Whoa, nellie! Stephanie bounces out (Bras reek of heinosity!) and slaps Benoit, allowing HHH to try the Pedigree. Benoit powers out and goes to the crossface, but HHH powers out of that and goes to the Pedigree, but Benoit powers out of that and goes to the crossface, but HHH powers of THAT, hits a lowblow, and the Pedigree finishes at 18:55. A clean finish in a HHH match? Wow. ****1/4 for some AWESOME psychology and a hard-fought finish. Both guys’ hot streak continue. I dunno what they’re supposed to do with Benoit now, though
  2. Did you just say Benoit carried that match? Tell me you didn't say that. Do you see the word carried in my post Ray? No. Great- move on and find something else to bitch about other then spazzing out everytime you see the word carry
  3. People did praise that HHH/Benoit match alot. I remember Kieth giving it ***** stars. But the match I was really referring to was the Austin/HHH vis Benoit/Jericho match. SK did not give it *****. He gave the tag match ****3/4. But that match involved three other people and tag team formula- not just Benoit
  4. Mainly because I got tired of seeing the WWE folder with rampant negativity while everyone seemed to heap TNA's praises. I also noticed t hat in their commercial ads- TNA kept proclaiming themselves as the alternative- when they were anything but. I look at TNA objectively- I loved the Anniversary and Cage match shows and do enjoy some of the product from time to time. I just think many people like it cause it's not WWE. Vengeance blows away anything TNA has done this year. Some episodes of TNA aren't much better then RAW or Smackdown! I do hate Vince Russo and Jeff Jarrett and I do hate what they're doing to TNA and AJ Styles. I loved AJ v. Low Ki and have been loving the Gathering v. New Church angle. But TNA has major brainfarts that are uncalled for- ie: Booking bullshit finishes in ladder matches. I don't think the WWE product is worse then TNA. I've enjoyed the last two SD!s and WWE's last PPV offering.
  5. The Benoit v. Triple H match at No Mercy hasn't really gotten that much praise. Many people consider the match to be overrated with here and there psychology. Benoit got a great match out of Austin (11.20.00) just a month after Austin came back from neck surgery
  6. I guess we'll agree to disagree- I enjoyed every encounter those two guys had when they faced off. Benoit also dragged a pretty good match out of Taker at Rebellion 2000.
  7. Diesel didn't speak for Shawn did he? And Shawn wasn't World Champ now was he?
  8. Benoit also has had good matches with both Hardy Boyz. And has been in three high end WWF/E MOTYC for three years in a row
  9. Everytime Rock and Benoit faced off- a good match resulted. 2.14.00 5.22.00 8.7.00 9.25.00 Those are all good Benoit v. Rock matches And Fully Loaded 2000.
  10. He's Angle's age. And look at the baseball HOF. It's littered with drunks and womanizers. Mickey Mantle drank himself to death. Should he have been barred from the Hall for his off field antics and ignore his actual career? The baseball and wrestling HOF are not the same thing. Even discounting faking an injury to get out of jobbing the world title- HBK had a few great matches and was a flat out bomb as champion. It's the Hall of Fame- not the Hall of Very Good
  11. . What about Benoit's good matches with the Rock, Edge, Eddy, Rey, RVD. Benoit even got a good match out of Albert.
  12. He'll be 35 next year
  13. Yea- Regal cleaned himself up and was a lowermidcarder in WCW from 1999-2000
  14. Bulldog was not an absolute slug in 1997. This is the guy who put on a MOTYC in February of 1997 against Owen, was involved in another MOTYC on RAW in 1997 and had many great matches that year. 1998 was when injuries and abuse caught up to him and he became an absolute slug. Bret Hart also got terrific matches out of Taker-and he's better then him.
  15. It shows he has character which in a business like wrestling is rare. It also makes people want to vote for him more- rather than a fuckhole like Shawn Michaels. You don't understand my logic. HBK has borderline credentials but faking an injury to get out of jobbing the world title is one of the lowest things you can do and he shouldn't be in the HOF. Steamboat was much better then HBK.
  16. Big Show's last WCW match was a loss to Nash on Monday Nitro on 1.11.99 I think
  17. So was Ricky Steamboat and he drew jack shit in NWA with Flair... Ricky Steamboat put on some of the greatest wrestling matches of ALL time. Ricky Steamboat never faked an injury to drop the title. Steamboat also never had to turn heel to freshen up his character and is known as one of the nicest guys in the industry
  18. HBK was not the best worker when he retired in 1998- There were many people in WCW who were much better then he was. I'm happy Benoit made it in but HBK does not deserve to go in.
  19. Considering the show is less then 2 hrs long- that 8 minutes takes up a lot of time. Not because of Russo. Russo could've not been there at all and all this could've occured. At least Bradshaw is an actual wrestler. Styles and Daniels could get over without Russo. Russo being taller then AJ and Low Ki just makes the other two look like jokes- He shouldn't be managing AJ Styles. It would've been nice to just hear AJ. Furthering a feud that has gone on FOREVER and yet is never going to have a suitable blowoff. Are you referring to the show where Russo main evented an episode of TNA? Yea- good stuff.
  20. What about the Benoit/Jericho period in May-June? The titles seemed pretty important then. The tag titles were actually important for a long period of time leading up to Wrestlemania. Once they started making Benoit and Jericho look weak- the tag titles again started to lose prestige.
  21. Yes he is. Russo is a non wrestler who is taking up time on a show that I pay $10 for. There are shows where Russo plays a reduced role- but then there are shows where he is on it for too much- it's unacceptable
  22. She DID. She was pretty big in 1998-1999
  23. Yea but Hogan and Sable have drawn in the past and still have fanbases. Mabel has Mo
  24. I think because of his many blade scars- it doesn't take much effort for Funk to tap a gusher.
  25. Actually- the first time Nitro and RAW went head to head- Nitro defeated RAW. Nitro was helped by hyping up Luger v. Hogan and Norton v. Savage on the first show when RAW was dark.
