I think he was making references to the matches he had before the neck injury, which I think are the best of his career (the whole Smackdown 6 thing).
-
Probably better then to have never given Benoit the belt. WWE has shown me in the last few years that's it better to imagine what could have been than to actually see what a waste it was.
-
Eugene's heat died the second Triple H was brought into the equation. Just seeing how hard it is to remember how many matches they've had should be some clue as to why the angle has fallen off the face of the earth.
-
It's because they are playing up the "Rock is a Hollywood star" angle, nothing more. Southern California crowds are dead because it takes a LOT to impress them.
-
Which is exactly why WWE calls it a success and are going to do it again next year. It also lets them get away with the crap they are pulling, because people still buy it.

If it were any other job but sports, this topic would be moot, simply because it's a hidden rule and treated as such. You're expected to be well dressed out of uniform, period. I personally don't care if the wrestlers go GQ. This obviously shows that WWE doesn't give a damn about kayfabe anymore. And I'm betting that this was Triple H's idea, the role model in the WWE for classy wear when not in the ring. By god, you better look up to him and copy his coolness, or he'll fire your ass. Got that, Holly? Rock wore silk shirts, and we didn't see a new mandate in the WWE office that all employees must wear silk shirts. But this is the Game, he's bigger than everyone.

I could get a kick out of hearing why the WWE sucks, but I'll let the silence of my TV set and wallet do the talking.

Does anyone know where I can nab a torrent of this week's Heat?
-
The way I see it, if it was HHH instead of Eddie, Angle would be getting his ass beat every other week with Triple H standing over him for 20 minutes yelling that SS would be the end of Angle's career.

The OAO Raw Thread - 7/26/04 - 60 Minute Iron Man

Bland booking. Saw it all before. Generic face gets ahead, then Triple H dominates for a long time, then generic face makes a comeback, then a bunch of people who have no business in the match come down and ruin it, bad as it was already. It wasn't a really bad match, it was just a 20 minute match expanded to 60, like the HITC was a 20 minute match expanded to 45. There's a reason the crowd was sitting on their hads for fifty minutes. Throw in the fact that Orton won the battle royal (so most of us knew Benoit was retaining), and there really was no reason to have the match on free TV. Should have been on PPV, with some hype, and withOUT Eugene. Hate to say it, but both guys just wasted their energy and time out there. Physically, anyway. Well, maybe not Triple H. He's used to spending an hour of Raw's TV time every week :rimshot: "That's an old joke." -

HHH has Fighting Spirit! I don't know if there were any rest stops. I would like to see Triple H in the crossface for 50 minutes. It'd be boring TV within 3 minutes, but it'd be funny, too -

This is almost exactly how the Rock-HHH match started. I smell interference... -

McMahon Upset That SD! Drew Stronger Rating Than
Karc replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Oh no ! Smackdown drew better than Raw? Guess that means Eddie will get the title back. I mean, when he's the champion the ratings stink. Even if he was the only bright spot during that whole period, it's still his fault. Give him back the title Vince, before we start deserting Raw. Please. I'm begging you... -
So where's Jamie "I'm in porn" Knoppe?
-
Or cut all mentions of Hulk Hogan. I wish.

Angle shouldn't have to apologize to the divas. First off, they suck, and specifically, it was Torrie's slutty nature and bad acting that got Angle "crippled" in the first place.
-
I thought Trish was still somewhat popular around here...................... I am a big fan of Trish Stratus, but it won't stop me from pointing out reality. Exactly, it's not that she is unlikable, but she is starting to get those rather nasty HHH tendencies, like holding on to a title despite being obviously injured, jobbing out worthy competitors in under 60 seconds, having the higher-ups basically take everyone of her ideas as gold, while others just "don't have anything planned."
-
At least Taker's not bashing Hart and Foley in the press or on TV. I mean, at least he has the courtesy to bury them behing the scenes... If anything, bashing Foley and Hart is probably a work. And HHH is winning the title next week. He needs to bury someone else at Summerslam, because he can't really do it to Benoit now. What better way to get all the heat back by winning in front of the most amount of people.
-
No, Cena won the popular vote but GM Angle gave the award to JBL anyway. Bottom line, the fans' vote meant shit then, and it will mean shit for the Diva search.
-
Remember that the last time the fans were "allowed" to vote on a vote for a popular superstar, it seemed that Bradshaw was more of a fan favorite than Cena, and thus he was given the "Great American Award" and the WWE title. I bet there are few people here who thought this whole Diva thing wasn't a work, because it's obvious that the WWE continues to not care what the fans want. I don't care who wins, because even if I did I can't do a thing about it. I wouldn't trust my vote to matter.
-
Wait, I thought he was headlining Mania, against Triple H. That seems to be what all of the buildup is for. As far as Triple H's protection is concerned, it doesn't matter. He knows he's getting the title back at the second biggest PPV of the year in front of a Canadian crowd, so he shouldn't have a problem jobbing to Benoit and a retard at a second rate PPV. That automatically makes him better than he was last year, when he couldn't be bothered to job to anyone until he pulled his groin and wasn't allowed to wrestle. And even then it was like pulling teeth. And just think, in five weeks we could very well have Undertaker and Triple H as champions again. That's scary.

The problem with "if you don't like it, then leave" argument is that it implies that people have to accept the system completely as it is, or take a hike. Which leaves no room for free speech, which I thought was a right. Or the right to vote to change a thing or two, which I also thought was a right in this country. That sort of thing. It has about as much intellectual value as "neener, neener, neener." It's weak. And I didn't expect Bradshaw to talk about wrestling. Not when he had a perfect chance to laugh at us smarks for being awarded the title. Besides, why should he talk about wrestling? It's not as though anyone was actually watching enough to care about the guy.
