  1. In WWE logic, it makes total sense to screw with Rey. Orton blew up Eddie's car, remember? If you don't, WWE will remind you numerous times as the build for the match. Orton is a legend killer, and the way WWE will tell it, he's killing off both Eddie and Rey once and for all, then he's getting Angle. Orton is the next big heel (another reason to make sure Edge doesn't get over). The heat on Orton when he "steals" Mysterio's title shot will likely the most he's had his entire career.
  2. Neither does Edge or Jericho, I guess. The Rumble match is the template for how Triple H will bury Cena for good at Wrestlemania. Destroy him for 20 minutes ala Austin, then pin him clean in the ring with a Pedigree.
  3. They can't save Wrestlemania. It won't matter, either, because the show will get many buys. The company has been tanking creatively ever since Mike Goldberg stung them. Trish vs. Mickie is the only slow-burning feud that means anything. Not counting Rey's win because Eddie had to die for him to go over. If you think that's insensitive, write to WWE, because they started it. Shawn fighting Vince or Shane is stupid. My suggestion? Wrestlemania should have been re-done before this PPV. Cena should have been in the Rumble, Triple H should be fighting Edge (filler ala 2001), Rey Mysterio should have been challenging Angle, and Undertaker should have either been in the Rumble or not there. Crusierweight match should have been a 15 minute gimmick deal (ladder or something). Victoria should have been doing something other than hitting on Vince. But egos and politics got in the way again and ruined another show. Six months from now, when everyone asks why Rey isn't a credible champion, the easiest place to start is the Rumble. I don't like the Eddie tribute stuff, but that isn't the problem. Rey could be serious about it, but having Tim White shooting himself kills the credibility. It's the tasteless crap that's forcing people to disbelieve WWE. The last 7 Royal Rumbles have been the main event. This one was a midcard match. There's the immediate problem of Rey winning gets a big pop, yet he's unworthy of the top spot, certainly not while Mark Henry or the 40+ Undertaker can take it and do nothing. Even in the match, Triple H had to go an hour too (while everyone else was under 40), and eliminate the three biggest guys in the match, which to me was extremely selfish. Then there's the rumor that Rey isn't getting his title shot, not to mention 20 years of brainwashing by Vince McMahon that only six and a half feet, 300 lb guys with steriods up their ass automatically get title runs and title shots. When people watch Smackdown in two weeks to see that Rey Mysterio is jobbing his title shot at No Way Out, we'll wonder what went wrong.
  4. I seriously think that Vince McMahon is a homophobic bisexual.
  5. Still waiting for my copy, which I pre-ordered in DECEMBER. EB Games, home of sick fucks.
  6. It makes perfect sense to cancel it. Spike TV fears Vince McMahon. They booted him off, sacrificed the ratings, and now TNA is starting to feel the wrath of WWE's arrogance. WWE already planned a house show in the same city as TNA's first house show on the same weekend. They are already fighting with UFC. WWE, for all of their BS grandstanding about how they "need" competiton, want these two promotions dead by the end of 2006. Of course, a network should have nothing to fear from a wrestling promotion, but Spike isn't exactly the place to go for good TV decision-making. Neither is Cartoon Network. I do find the cancellation fascinating for this reason. If someone like Bischoff was in charge, the 2/13 show is a huge no-brainer. The Nitro runs, even when the show sucked, got big boosts when Raw was not on the air. This was exactly what Meltzer was talking about months earlier. Spike getting a 2.0 with the ad revenue is fine compared to a 4.0 with no ad revenue (WWE got that). A live show, after a PPV, like this show would have been, has a chance of getting that.
  7. So since Edge hasn't really wrestled in a good match in months, what justifies his title reign? The fact that he screwed over Hardy in real life and then got to take part in his burial? The fact that his new "talk show" is just another way for Vince to vent his frustrations at steroids and Ric Flair? Maybe he's one of the few guys left on the roster with enough blond hair to be Triple H's successor. I mean, the guy is getting a kid. Someone tell me, please, I'm dying to see the rationality behind this. Next time I see Mae Young, I'm going to shoot her in the boobs. That way, the WWE makeup department will but some twisted pasty masks over them (ala Jillian Hall), and we can all be spared the pain. And I don't want to see Lita
  8. An injury-prone guy on roids who already has a tear in his back and should not be wrestling anyway gets hurt again by a useless, irresponsible wrestler? Surely you jest. Do those fucking morons called the WWE get it now?!
  9. Bischoff was GM when the Edge won the thing. Bischoff is no longer GM. The title shot is null and void. Edge is carrying around a briefcase full of nothing. Well, that'll be the reason when the angle is dropped.
  10. Matt Hardy is getting buried on purpose. He wasn't supposed to win the Taboo Tuesday voting, JBL was.
  11. They are sticking HBK in first because he is going to have to carry the entire match (along with Angle in his 30 percent state). Usually Jericho did it.
  12. None of which matters because Melina is getting the main event push. How sad is that? There's Mercury, Nitro, Mysterio, Henry, and Batista, and Melina is getting a bigger push than all of them combined.
  13. Windows XP home. I didn't have this problem with Norton 2005, just with the newer version. Since it's XP, by default it auto-restarts. Actually, if someone here knows how to turn off the auto-restart, maybe I can see the error message. The crash doesn't happen all the time, I just think it's my DVD drive that dying. But I want to be sure before I buy a new one.
  14. In the last day or so, I've put in 2 CDs into my DVD ROM drive. After I've taken them out, my computer crashed. The weird thing about it is that I played tose CDs dozens of times before on that drive, and nothing happened. Only thing I did differently in the last day was install the new Norton junk. Granted, my drive is about 3 years old (so it may be dying). Any thoughts on what's causing the crash? Or on a new DVD-ROM drive?
  15. Well, at least this time WWE was kind enough to warn us that McMahon was going to do a tasteless, stupid angle that gets no one over but himself and doesn't mean anything other than to piss off an already angry fanbase. Really, like anyone doesn't see that DVD review being turned into a heat magnet for McMahon. I hope that Michaels took himself out of this by principle (yeah, I don't believe it either). Like it's Bret's fault he can never wrestle again and get "revenge," so Vince'll keep teasing the match that will never happen untill the day he dies. Or Eddie's fault that he died in a hotel room, so Vince'll destroy the last attachment the fans had to Eddie to get Orton over. Or Tim White "killing" himself to put over the Heck in a Cell. Or JR's fault getting cancer and not leaving for the relaunch on USA (which was because of stupidity from upstairs), so now McMahon has an excuse to play surgeon, and try to embarrass his number 1 star of all-time, again. Or Gordy's fault he died, so now Edge can beat up Michael Hayes and mock him. Ugh, I made myself sick just reading that. I honestly don't remember a TV show preview that actually made me feel ill. Ever.
  16. Jarrett has to go. And not just to the midcard. He needs to be off TNA for at least a year. Even if the current, monotonous, generic 15 X-Division guys get personalities, they will all job to Jarrett. They won't matter. Look at Joe. I think he's the only guy who actually has a shot at a decent character (mostly because of last night). He needs to destroy Jarrett and get him out, first time. No fancy stuff about it. Make the WWE rejects who have jobbed to Jarrett before learn the TNA style.
  17. The Women's title going to Smackdown as well is a ratings ploy. Women segments usually get high ratings (even the god-awful Diva Searches got high ratings until people got fed up with it). Smackdown needs ratings. And turning Trish heel again will not work. Remember Trish-Lita from last year. Trish was getting the face pops until the title match. There was zero reason to cheer for Lita.
  18. Losing the WWF name was the WWE's fault, period. The first post made was more or less the original conditions of the settlement before WWE got arrogant. And WWE only sounds lame because the PRODUCT is lame. If they were producing great TV, no one would care.
  19. It's too bad the whole Eddie-Rey-Dominic saga didn't make the list, that was some painful TV from two of the more entertaining wrestlers on the roster. But I know why it didn't make the list, so it's ok.
  20. Shane not mentioned means that Shane is the new GM. A swerve, except of course, that swerves are the norm now, and not a swerve. Thanks Vince, we already knew we were smarter than you, now take your internet-wannabe kiss-ass crony six-grade e-mailers back to Stamford. Like I said in the quartely report thread, I'm worried. McMahon has had enough of the internet. He's coming to brainwash us all.
  21. The things they said about the internet worry me. It seems that WWE now has a very real financial reason for pissing off and working the internet, in order to get people to see their website ads. That's the only conclusion I can come up with.
  22. From my experience, it's better not to say anything at all. Someone will always be offened, because people are different and their likes and dislikes change on a whim. So if I were Vince, I just wouldn't say anything. And really, wouldn't the rest of us be better off because of it...?
  23. EVERY wife should be asking their wrestling husbands to quit after what happened. Or at least be asking questions, like "Do you have health insurance with someone?" Or "Have you taken a trust fund for your kids?" Or "Do you have a backup plan if someone breaks your neck, because it seems that almost everyone in WWE does?" Hell, the brainless divas should even seriously consider modeling careers. They don't have to take bumps there.
  24. All this shows me is that WWE really wants to get Orton over as a heel, resorting to using a dead wrestler's gimmick to get him heat. Not even going to debate the tastelessness of it, it was just dumb. If they have to piss off the fans by using the name of a dead wrestler everyone liked to get heat on this guy, then WWE has a more serious problem than "offending" Eddie fans.
  25. WWE doesn't deserve any awards this year, period. Every wrestler who had credibility was either put through a shitty angle (Eddie taking Rey's son, Angle losing his real wife and then stalking younger women, Austin being put through that JR crap and then almost jobbing to Coach, Foley wrestling Carlito in an attempt to give Carlito a push, Benoit going back to the lower midcard, HBK giving the Hart/HBK promo before fighting Hogan) or absolutely buried (Hardy, Edge eventually, Benjamin). And these weren't one week disasters like 2002. These were built (or buried) for MONTHS. I really think this year was worse than 2002. At least when Katie Vick was stinking up the place, I could watch the Smackkdown Six. From what I've seen here, the last time anyone cared about WWE giving up anything good was June. Has anything really good happened in the last five months? Could blame Triple H, since he could claim it wasn't his fault (he was gone), but him killing Flair wasn't exactly a highlight either, since he stays a heel, but constantly books himself as a super-over face. The only two guys that have won their feuds against him in the last THREE years are now on the B-Show, and one doesn't even matter anymore. BTW, Wrestlemania had 1,000,000 buys. ECW ONS had 320,000.
