Go to http://basketbawful.blogspot.com/ and look at the May 4th blog, or type "Karc" after hitting control + F. The Jazz were not healthy and did not have their second best scorer. Houston was looking ripe to pull off the series win and the Game 3 win, but Yao got hurt in the second half, it showed quickly and now he's out for the rest of the playoffs. He's their best scorer. It's like the Lakers losing Gasol. They would not have a chance. Note to the Nuggets: Put extra security around Nene. Me thinks he's next for the Lake Show hit list. Let's see how the Lakers play when they have to face a legit big man (like Orlando, who they cannot beat). And I was busy with work. I also found a more fun place to talk about basketball than here. One where they do not change usernames for malicious reasons without the user's consent. I honestly figured you would all be happy about it at this point.

Sorry everyone, I've been busy with overtime at work for the last couple of weeks. But the Rockets win was not a normal win. Lakers did not blow a huge lead, since they only had it for 12 seconds in the second half of Game 1. Houston beat them up on the court. They are done. That 65 win record is overrated when 14 of those wins came from the worst division in basketball (Lakers are the only team from the Pacific to make the postseason). Compare their playoff run to Denver (58 point win at New Orleans) and Cleveland (have yet to let a team score more than 84 points), and I do not see them getting out of the West, let alone winning the whole thing. And the way Houston is playing, I think the Lakers go down in 6. Unlike the Jazz, this team is healthy, but like the Jazz, they not afraid of the Lakers. Cleveland in 4. Orlando-Boston, sadly, does not matter. Denver in 6.

Nice job by the Lakers blowing a 13-point lead late and losing. And Byrant almost did forfeit the series with that silly three (and missing 19 shots) at the end of regulation when they just got a dunk into Gasol in the previous play, and had 2.2 seconds left. He is not Andre Iguodala. They may not need Okur now. Lakers have blown a big lead late in every game this series. The Jazz limited Bynum to seven minutes when he got five fouls. And for the second time, they crushed the Lakers on the boards (30 each in Game 2, but Jazz outrebounded them by 15 tonight). The Jazz are not scared of this team. And Ben Gordon should file a complaint with the league for leaking out the fact that he was a rookie when they gave him the Rookie of the Year award. Because Boston probably don't beat the tar out of him otherwise (ok, so maybe they would have anyway). That was just painful to watch.

He asked a question with the intention of creating a mess given his reputation, and instead of her rolling over and giving an answer to appease him, she told him what she thought and answered it. To which he promptly retreated back to the immature behavior that gave him his bad reputation to start with. He's a sleaze from a blog, asked a question that was meant to expose her as a sleaze on national TV, and promptly ended up looking like a sleaze everywhere else as a result when he overreacted to the response, both on and off the stage. She ended up looking like the better of the two, right from the start. I've been saying this for 20 posts now. And you've treated me with nothing but contempt. What evidence have you brought to the table, other than your name calling? I don't believe anything you have said is true, it has just been your opinion. You disagree with me, fine. But to say that what I've mentioned as shit when I have tried to explain my position is yet another example of your very rude behavior. Name calling does not strengthen your argument. It demeans it and makes it sound petty. You cannot hold a conversation with me, because you are too busy insulting me to see my point. I've moved on. You need to let it go.
-
She did, and he proved her right by the way he reacted. When you started calling my opinion "shit" (I think it is the third time you've done so) I brought up the NBC issue a couple of posts later to go further with my point. She is the one who has shown class through this whole thing, right from the start. But I've said my piece, and I am moving on. If you want to keep going, then go right on ahead. See if some other people will weigh in and agree or disagree with you.

He could have still shown restraint on MSNBC and put this to rest. Or pursue it with some dignity. But he chose not too. He didn't want to. That was my point all along. NBC had some fault, but this starts and stops with Hilton.
-
You're right, he called her two derogatory names, which was worse. And he did on national TV in addition to his blog. He couldn't get mad on NBC because they would not have aired it. But MSNBC and his blog are different platforms, domains where he could easily be a bully, and he was.
-
His reaction to the answer shows the bullyness, since he went out of his way to try to humiliate her further after the fact. If he did not want to do that, he could have been much more civil about it. But that has been his behavior pattern all along, which is why I took the stand I did. It was a question she could not answer without something happening, which is why he asked it, and I am happy she responded to it and knocked him down a peg.

I guess I can add "special needs poster" to the mod complaint, as well as another "retarded reference." And yeah, quoting the people actually involved in the incident commenting about the incident is useless, I guess. What the primary source of the incident had to say means nothing. I should take what you say more than what either the beauty contestant or Perez Hilton actually said.
-
So you agree with me that Hilton is not as smart as he screams he is. I questioned his credibility from the beginning. And I've been keeping count. There are at least 7 instances in this thread where you have called me an idiot, 2 instances where you have called me retarded, and at least 3 instances where you have called me stupid. Not once have I questioned your intelligence or called you a name, and have tried to bring forth a worthwhile discussion. I've mentioned numerous sources, and you've dismissed every one, only to retreat back into calling me names. I've said all along, that Hilton could have been the better man and not reacted the way he did. But he didn't, and neither have you. In this thread or any other thread that you followed me too. If you really think that I do not belong here, stop calling me names, block me or ask a moderator to ban me. But I meant every word I've said, I stand by that all the way.
-
He called her the "c-word" later on MSNBC. I guess you can applaud that if you would like to. It's like a cop holding a gun to a robber holding the same gun. Same weapon, different intent. So you are agreeing with me that that was his intent, to shock people? Then how is that not a trap question? I don't know. You should ask her and get back to me on that. I am curious as to what she has to say. I guess the next time someone stands up for what they believe in, I should call them retarded as well. I honestly did not know that only dumb people could do that, I'm sorry. Are you happy that he is doing this? Do you think that it is right? Does it justify what he does and how he does it? Then I was right before, and we can just end this now. I think we can both agree on this.

I'd like to see that on youtube. I'm not wagering anything, but I'd like to see it.
-
The post about Rihanna was just some levity in what has become a heated thread. And it is basketball-related, so it is hardly irrelevant. The Jazz can still win four straight, as they may be getting Okur back tonight.

I've said multiple times it was a legit question. If Andrew Sullivan had asked it, I would not have a problem with it, because he would have a far more responsible and civil reply to her answer. The problem was the source. I did not have a problem with the whole thing at the start other than the fact that he acted like he wanted to take a swing with the whole "you should be afraid" line. And how is that not acting like a bully? If he had any sort of class, just ask the question, smile at the answer, and move on. But he did not. And that's when I had to give ups to the girl for standing her ground. And the religious right would have been all over that response you gave. They do live in America. Just ask haws bah gawd. And I did not say anything retarded. I'm showing that all the fame you think he's getting is not exactly doing him any favors right now. It's just one example of many, but since it's from me, you believe it is invalid. I'm quoting sources and showing video evidence here (It was actually from an MSNBC show).

Not really, what's it about? EDIT: Never mind I found it. Weird. EDIT 2: Forget weird. Wow. http://www.officialmorphoplex.com/Morphoplex_Massive(1).wmv

Based on the "fame" that he's been getting, I'd say it was a trap. I think it was mostly a set-up by him, NBC's fault was that they let it happen, that's all. I mentioned that later. I think he was trying to use Miss USA to champion gay rights (which the runner-up may end up doing anyway in response to this), but instead, he looks like a fool for his actions. Hilton was silent after that response. He exploded after the show, when he felt he had to retaliate. And that's a good answer, the equal rights thing. Let's see you say that after being on stage for three hours on a national TV show, after a lifetime of a Christian upbringing. And you said it yourself, that response would have been skewed as well because it's "vague" and "cookie-cutter." And it has not been so great for Hilton. From an article at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/21/m...o_n_189430.html (there's a video there, too.) Her sister, the gay rights activist, also backs her up completely. Seems to me that your problem is more with America, not with me. I'm just glad that she took a stand against a bully. Yes, even gay people can be just as mean and insincere as racists. There are a lot of words between idiosyncrasy and idol. I'm assuming you mean I'm idiothermic...?

I did blame NBC as well (I think they wanted this), but it's mostly on him. He's been getting a lot of heat for stirring this up. The MSNBC reporter went after him. Most of the reaction I've heard has been ripping him. He deserves a lot worse. And yes, I took issue with HIM asking the question, not with the question itself. As I have said over and over, nothing irresponsible about the question, it's the man who asked it and the network that condoned it. He did not get the answer he wanted, and basically shut up after that. He was put in his place. Like asking for a Christmas gift of an answer, and instead, got some humble pie. Yes, Perez, there are people who do not think the same way you do. Get over it. Then he went overboard trying to save face and went nuts on his blog and in the press. He used his vote to help make sure that she would not win. She didn't lose because of a bad answer, there was no right or wrong answer here, as much as you would like to think otherwise. She lost because she was presented with an impossible situation that she could not get out of. Any answer, and she would have lost. How would you have responded to the question?

Celtics just lost Leon Powe for the postseason with a torn ACL. Bulls better win this series now. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/200...tory?id=4086325

Nothing on his blog indicates any sort of respectable credibility to be the judge of a beauty contest. He doesn't write articles, or give compelling interviews. His popularity there got him the spot, and that's just sad. That's my point. Not every American agrees with gay marriage. That's my point. I don't care one way or the other where you or anyone else stands on the issue, but she was asked about it, and she answered. I did not make the comparison to the presidential election. HE did. Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klT0aSRTuDQ at the 1:07 mark. I was pointing out that assuming that Miss USA cannot have a political view is just silly, since that's what he was looking for when he asked his own question. Which does bring back to "hot girls in bikinis" remark. He can ask for their opinion, but to turn around and hang them out to dry because of it is hypocritical and irresponsible. He got what he deserved. I said his behavior was irresponsible, there was nothing wrong with the question. She answered and put him in his place, since it's coming out that he asked that question to start something.
-
He called her a "dumb bitch." How is that NOT irresponsible? Total lack of objectivity at that point. There's more on the blog, but I do not want to give the impression that I am "supporting" him. The MSNBC interview. That's where he said that she cost herself the crown, then proceeded to claim that her answer alienated Americans. How does a question like that NOT alienate a certain amount of the population? Like I said, there was no way she could answer that question and not get into trouble. He even said that the President is elected with a party affiliation. And she's not supposed to have one? If Hilton did not want to create a situation like that, then do not ask the question. Oh, and he admitted that he also wanted to call her the "c-word" but didn't. On national TV, no less. Then he rips the interview she did where she says that her sister is a gay rights activist, to which he snidely says "bless her heart." And this was the day after, when he could have calmed things down. Instead, he made them worse. And I thank you for calling me "stupid." I do think that at times I can be a terrific person. I had no problem with the question, as I have said over and over. My problem is with the person who asked it and his motives for asking it. Yes, this could have a moment of rare clarity out of the guy, but he dropped the ball and showed his true colors, and she stood firm. I liked that. The heat should entirely be on him, not her.

Jeff Hardy is going to be one the big stars of Smackdown over the summer, so he actually has a little leverage here.
-
Hilton displayed his irresponsible behavior in the reaction to the answer and the comments on his blog. He claimed the questioned cost her the crown, which he would know since he had a vote. She only admitted to it after he did. I went to the site to get the information I needed to show his bad behavior. He can take the one hit and enjoy it, but I actually appreciated the question he asked until I saw the video and his subsequent reaction. He was not asking that question for benevolent means. And if you truly have a problem with my posts, then please follow your own advice to me and stop reading them. There is a way to block yourself from seeing my posts.

But that would lower the title. Samoa Joe is the only guy under 40 that has won the title in the last two years.

Again, find me physical proof that my IQ is less than 25, and I'll concede that I am an idiot. Until then, please stop calling me one. A credible reporter might say that he will ask a tough question, but Perez's attitude and facial reactions indicated that he was going to ask a question, and wanted the girl to be scared while she answered it. And I think that NBC was ok with it, because they brought him back to TV right after it happened, and Perez accomplished his goal in getting attention, just not the kind that he wanted. A lot of people have been ripping him for asking the question, and even more for taking credit for costing her the crown. And you've been "calling" me out for supposedly not backing up my claims, so I went to his site to get evidence, and I saw the videos, and you turn around and claim that I am contributing to his success. Am I supposed to be ignorant to what he's doing? I felt that I needed to call him out for what his completely irresponsible behavior, but in doing so, you think that's supporting him instead. I am very confused as to what point you are trying to make.

If Perez Hilton was a Christian blogger (instead of a gay blogger) who went on a beauty contest and asked her about gay marriage, and she said that she supported it (rather than opposed it), to which said blogger went to his blog and condemned her to hell (instead of calling her a 'dumb bitch'), then voted to make sure that she could not win, I would support her all the way. People can be motivated by personal reasons to push an agenda. It's why he does what he does. I never said it as an excuse, but it's not like he's a reporter asking a question. Would a credible news reporter EVER preface his question in a press conference with "You should be afraid?" And the North Carolina girl was asked about the economy, which is also relevant, but a much softer issue since people don't actually get to vote on it. As I mentioned in my first post, I totally think NBC set this up, and has pretty much gotten away with it. And agenda is not always negative. But there was a purpose to his question outside of judging character. NBC could have stopped it right there by telling him not to ask the question, but they did not. Then he could rip NBC, instead of humiliating this girl. And he is just one (albeit one of the more popular) examples of the lack of credibility of bloggers. No one really reads the TSM forums anyway, so I doubt that I am contributing to his success outside of keeping you in the thread all day. And unless you can prove that I have the mental capacity of a three-year old, or an IQ under 25, it's not an "undeniable fact" that I am in idiot, unless your intention was to insult me.
