Long long ago, in a chat far far away... We met in some other chat back in the summer of '98 and hit it off fairly well because of our humor and love of sports (as there weren't a lot of sports fans in that group). We met in person in Sept '00 because I was in NYC for a month on business and on one free weekend I took the Boston train up to meet him. Eventually the old chat died down and I floated around in cyberlimbo before finding this place (don't remember how, probably 411 though) and lurking for a couple months before registering and posting, and after sending FS assorted links from this board he decided to register. So essentially I could be blamed for the "FS menace", but I don't care

Inspired in an NFL thread when someone, I don't know if it was a network montage or the team itself, used Green Day's "Time of Your Life" as a sendoff for the recently departed Wellington Mara... except the fact that, if you pay attention to the song, it's a horrible song to use as a sendoff/funeral song, yet I've seen it used for that purpose many times since its release Other examples: Using "Every Breath You Take", a song about a stalker, as a wedding song Using "Born in the USA", a song deriding the US gov't, as a patriotic song What else can you think of?

Oh tell me they didn't use Green Day for Wellington Mara People seem to completely miss the message of the song. Right up there with "Born in the USA" and "Every Breath You Take" Now I'm inspired to make a thread about it

I don't recall FS (or FM at the time) asking for a voluntary banning around the time of the Pit incident.. I remember when he asked for the FS account to be deleted, but that was nearly a year ago. Other than the Pit incident I don't know of anything negative he had done at the time to warrant his banning, so my only conclusion is that the banning was vengeance for the Pit deletion, which would be, as they say, the weaksauce.
