  1. I live with a new fan that is a super mark for Jericho, and was supposed to go tonight. First words he said when I got home: "Dah, I would have broken a bottle of his head!"
  2. I liked Orton/Foley and the WM XX three-way. Sorry to go with the easy ones, but honestly, Smackdown! has been shitty, with more focus on getting over boring/unproven "contenders" instead of putting on good matches, and Raw has been doing some pretty good tag matches, but nothing that really stands out as "memorable". This year I really liked: - Rumble Match - Eddie / Brock - WM XX three-way - Backlash: Orton/Foley - Shelton Vs. Triple H (the first one, the upset) And I dug when Tajiri beat Kane by countout on the "Shelton's upset" episode of Raw cause I thought Tajiri would win and won 5 bucks.
  3. And we bought Lofton a beer. Tyson was in front of me, dressed the same as he does on Raw. And did the "crossed arms" thing too a lot of time on the dance floor. I said "Good Luck, Sunday" to him, and we drank with Lofton. That's all. -Night.
  4. ***WCW Monday Nitro - August 25, 1997 Jeff Jarrett pinned Chris Benoit. WCW US Champion Steve McMichael pinned Eddy Guerrero with a tombstone piledriver.*** "Reason # 56321 why...
  5. That wasn't the Shamrock V. King Mabel Raw wasn't it? :::shivers:::
  6. No, Toy Biz did not make ECW Figures. Toy Biz made the WCW line. I actually really liked them, a lot better than the WWF figures that are out today. They were super detailed, but may have looked a big too "cartoony", some argued. Still, my favorite figures of all time, because they were made in "comic book toy" style.
  7. Some big 1997 corrections/fixings. I've almost got everything from this thread up...
  8. Haha, you're right. I just meant that the thread actually implies "competition" by using old, washed up WWE stars that the WWE just *used* after they wrre *already* washed up. Besides, I don't see how Vince would be chewing his nails hearing about "PRIDE" and "Kevin Nash" teaming up. The wrestling market is at a major LOW, right now. Even with the WWE having a full rosters, and such, they've been unable to sustain popular storylines or draw major cards. They sell out PPVs, well, the major ones, it seems, but still, mainstream notoriety has dissapeared for the WWE right now, and even the old-school, long-time fans are apathetic. So excuse me for being less than thrilled about "Barry Bloom being on good terms!"
  9. Whatta joke. Useless thread.
  10. Yes, he hosted the Monday night after he won (Sunday Night), and I'm sure some others.
  11. I saw a scared to death look in her eyes Monday.
  12. Conway and Grenier have yet to produce a good televised match, IMO. The match in Canada was awful against Benoit/Edge.
  13. ***? I'd be very surprised.
  14. The night after Starrcade 97 I was surpised to see Booker T (who was quietly getting a push with victories over Jeff Jarrett on his way out) and Ultimo Dragon both win singles titles. Dragon SQUASHED Guerrero big time, after Eddie convincingly won a match against Malenko the night before at a *huge* PPV. Booker over Disco not as big, just the whole Booker singles push was new.
  15. http://raw.wwe.com/superstars/nash_k/index.html Big Kev. http://raw.wwe.com/superstars/terri/index.html Big Tits. http://raw.wwe.com/superstars/goldberg/index.html Big Ego.
  16. WWF World Champ Yokozuna wrestled twice at WM 10. WCW World Champion Big Van Vader wrestled in three matches at BattleBowl 1993 PPV. ECW's Taz has done the same, I believe. Sure there's plenty of others.
  17. See, IMO, Dreamer wasn't a main factor in the title scene, and was only being given the belt as a token of appreciation, not because he was gonna be a fixture in the ME scene. It turned out that way, eventually. They needed a way to get a heel the belt. Having Awesome drop the belt to a name to pop the audience (Tazz) and then give it to Dreamer to help put over Credible was what they chose to do. it pissed on the belt and the company, and ECW never recovered.
  18. Goddamnit 2 Philly losses in the Conference Finals to the eventual champs this year. Eh, congrats Tampa. Fedetenko just owned.
  19. Backlash didn't do great. The buyrate wasn't good, and besides Orton/Foley brawl and a lame main event (decent match yes but not original) the show was terrible.
  20. Novemmber 2 Remember 1996 Styles: "Fans, we've seen the likes of DEAN MALENKO! EDDIE GUERRERO! CHRIS BENOIT! CHRIS JERICHO! In that tradition of saying goodbye...here is...2 Cold Scorpio!" "Whoop! There it is!" plays, as Scorpio makes his way down, and the smart crowd knows he's debuting for WWF tomorrow at Survivor Series. "Whooop! There he goes!" they chant. Styles: "I mentioned them...Guerrero...Malenko...Jericho...Benoit, but none were as successful here as you. A Four-time TV champion! Tag Champions with The Sandman!" ::::YOU SOLD OUT~!::: chants erupt. Scorpio: "I just got one thing to say...tonight I say goodbye and I ain't gonna miss one of you mother-fuckers!" Smart fans cheer. Scorpio claims he'll wrestle for both ECW and WWF. Styles says "you can't do that!" Scorpio says tonight, he isn't supposed to say this, but he has to do a "job" and pass the torch to a new guy. So he challenges the next guy that comes out to a "loser leaves for 15 days" match. Devon Storm comes out, all nerd-like with his ridiculous outfit, crowd boo's heavily. Scorpio: "Buwahahahahaha! I'm supposed to pass the torch to Devon? Ok, let's pass the torch to Devon." -Scorpio defeats Devon in like 45 seconds. JT Smith and Little Guido come out. "Loser leaves ECW for...30 days!" -Scorpio defeats Smith in 2 minutes. Hack Myers comes out... "Loser Leaves ECW for...60 days!" - Myers gets beat in a few minutes. Louie Spicolli comes out. Scorpio gets on the mic. "Now I know everyone wants to know who my mystery partner at WWF (major boos!) Survivor Series is...my mystery partner is...LOUIE SPICOLLI!" "Come on Louie, you love WWF! Let's go back to WWF!" Louie shakes his head "No way!" "Loser Leaves for 1 Year"...Spicolli driver sends Scorpio packing. Good stuff.
  21. Ugh, Jacqueline sucks ass. Only reason she had 1% of a normal person's heat is because she used to bump for men in USWA and WCW. Fuck her. Ivory? She's old and boring and can't pop a crowd and has no moveset and needs to go away. Get Finley and Malenko in there with the girls.
  22. Christian's hurt. Venis, no way. Gail/Victoria was announced (with a graphic) last week. Tomko/Y2J is the feud now. They'll get a match. La Res. in a match, perhaps.
  23. This report about Eddie smells like *BULLSHIT*.
  24. Boston Crab, once Jericho made it his finisher.
