Unlike NFL games, when FOX provides you with the Sprint poll of the day, brought to you by the AOL 1st down stripe, all while describing the Wachovia hit of the game. Every major sport, in today's age, is a running commercial.

The g-loads at Bristol are comprable to any race anywhere else in the world. Also, a F1 race at most, by rule, can be 2 hours. Most fall into the 1:30 region, compared to NASCAR running typically three hours at least. So I think they can be forgiven the 20-30 minutes of yellow they typically run. As well as the fact that F1 is such a fucking parade around the track compared to NASCAR, so there is much more mental draining in NASCAR.

Spoiler for anyone taping the Busch race: Jr. won the Busch race as well and Johnny Sauter swept the weekend going two for two costing his teammate Kevin Harvick chances to win. If you remember yesterday when Sauter went through the pits like a moron, Harvick was coming in at that time with the leaders (Jr., Stewart, Busch). But when Sauter came flying in Harvick got pushed out back on the track sticking him with the Jimmie Johnson group that could never catch up. And then from the Busch race today: "I don't think Junior had the best car today, unless he was playing with us," Sauter said. "Harvick probably had the best car, but I kind of hung him out there."

It has too be a tough choice for Oakland. On one hand there are so many good WRs in this draft that they will be able to get a top quality guy with the 2nd pick in the 2nd round. On the other hand, Fitzgerald looks like one of those guys that 10 years from now you are still killing yourself about passing on him. I would probably pass on him, get a QB and then get a WR in the second round. As for Bailey, if the Eagles get an offer Bailey for a 1st and 2nd rounder and they don't take it I want Reid fired.

That was crap when Waltrip was talking about the medical staff. If he had even the slightest injury, do you know the shit that would have flown if they had aggravated it by turning the car over.

I am looking forward to tomorrow's race. I give it 50/50 odds the broadcast opens like this: Bestwick: Welcome back to the Hershey's Kisses 300. We start with some big news as there is a replacement for Junior today as....uh.....he is in no condition to participate today.

Don't forget that Kevin Harvick won 3 weeks later in Atlanta in his 3rd Winston Cup race.

zzzzzzzzzzzz Wow, good thing they have the smaller fuel cells to break up the field more. This has to be the worst 500 I have ever seen.

I meant that in regards to the original post in the thread.

I think you are giving Mark Martin too much credit, putting him in the list of contenders. IMO, he is racing for a job this year. Roush is starting to hurt for money and Busch and Kenseth aren't losing their spot and Biffle probably has a couple year test area. What is really saving him is the fact Jeff Burton sucks and would likely fall under the axe if only one has to go.

So much for Waltrip's roof hatch.

I got disappointed when I saw that story. First I got my hopes all up, considering Reid loves CBs and he would make a run at Bailey, I'd imagine. Then I realized there is no chance in hell the Skins will trade him within division, thus making me more disappointed than originally. I am enjoying seeing Gibbs tear apart the actually good players on the team though.

The Union was willing to let him rework the contract in Boston, he just reworked it too much. In this trade he will not redo as much of the deal. IIRC, the Union would have allowed him to take in the 18-20 million dollar area less in real dollar value, but the deal it would have taken to land in Boston was going 35-40 mil less.

Wasn't it Tampa as they were making less money as a team than Arod did last year?
-
I'll steal from an earlier alkeiper post: "Taking a look at Win Shares, A-Rod had 32 last year, while Soriano had 27. " So Arod is almost a 2 win improvement. So the Rangers don't make out too bad here. Shed a monster contract and don't get hurt too much in player downgrade.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
the pinjockey replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
The petition still seems to be clicking at about 10 signatures per minute. If that pace keeps up for a while this petition could get big enough to get notice. I'm #11798 -
Soriano is garbage?

Why wouldn't the offices allow it?

I'll get in on it.

By the end of the XFL, they were getting a good bit worse ratings than the AFL norm. There are minimal costs involved in the AFL as opposed to the $100 Million XFL. Plus, the AFL has their niche, so they keep their core group of fans. The XFL was just bad football trying to take on the NFL, so they kept no fans, as the XFL just pissed off fans by talking down about the NFL (which obviously people enjoy).

Funny you say that raz, as over on the Sherdog MB (MMA boards) they had rumors flying around that Kellerman was in talks to host a potential Spike TV UFC show.

There was an article a couple of days ago in the Philadelphia Inquirer from Smith that made sense. He was talking about how the black coaches get hurt by the players, because they think they have a buddy in the black coack as opposed to the white coach. At that point I believed what he had to say, it made sense and he had some quotes backing it up. But ever since then, hearing just snippets from interviews as opposed to being able to read the full article he has gotten really annonying. And there shall be no dissing of Tim Legler. The man knows how to get some high schooler ass.

They wanted Burke for the playoffs so they would have a veteran backing up Esche, just in case he got injured. I see no reason they just couldn't have him play the same role for the time being. They have a perfect opportunity right now to see a young guy, in a pressure situation, and they ought to just see if they have something in this guy.

I liked the deal, but in no way did I think it was a steal by Clarke or anything. I would have liked to have seen what would happen if Comrie got 18 minutes a game, but it wasn't going to happen on this team. So it turns into Woywitka, a 1st, and a 3rd for Burke, Branko, and Eager. That doesn't look bad to me. At least Niitty won't be getting sent down for a couple more weeks. I would leave him as the starter through that stretch, he earned at least that much.
