  1. As long as the OaO threads consist of chatter about a game you might be watching or something I see no problem with them. But anything resembling news should have it's own thread.
  2. I meant I personally would be pissed if they dumped Esche for Burke
  3. Accoding to most theories, if Esche is healthy it is his team. But god only knows what happens if Burke lights it up while Esche is out. If Esche had stayed healthy and been given the starting job from the start of the season he would have been in the mix for the all star game, so if Burke takes the job I would be quite pissed off. That seems to be part of the reason they wanted Burke. Him and Esche are best friends and they aren't worried about Burke causing trouble.
  4. With how far into the future they give up picks I figured trades from 98 would be a good starting point. No idea when the picks are for though. Lost picks: In 98 they traded a 1st rounder for Nazr Mohammed In 99 they traded a 1st rounder for Jumaine Jones In 02 they traded a 1st rounder in the Thomas deal In 03 they traded a 1st rounder (protected) in the Robinson deal Gained picks: In 02 1st round pick (protected) in the Jiri Welsch deal Push: In 01 they traded a conditional 1st rounder and Cedric Henderson for Corie Blount and Vonteego Cummings They later got the pick back in the Welsch deal Edit: Apparently all they are still on the hook for are the Thomas and Robinson picks. And Robinson isn't until 2007 at the earliest. They also have the Welsch pick. So they are only a -1 in picks, which is much better than I thought.
  5. Al, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they also trade away a couple of first rounders in the next few years as well?
  6. What a farce. No wonder players have no respect for coaches, knowing the the front office will be willing to dump them on a whim. It isn't Randy Ayres who gave Kenny Thomas 7yrs/$50 mil, a breaking down Aaron McKie 6yrs at good money, a decrepit Derrick Coleman 2 yrs, and traded for Glenn Robinson who turned into a malcontent. I honestly believe this team would be worse off if Larry Brown was still the coach. The three bright spots on the team to me are Willie Green, Kyle Korver, and Samuel Dalembert who provide hope of some good young players to be a quality core of role players for years to come. If Brown was still around Willie Green would probably have played about two minutes all year, Kyle Korver would have been benched the first time he shot a three (as opposed to the league leader in 3pts/48 mins by a wide margin while shooting around 40% like he is now), and Dalembert maybe would have started to play a role this season (but he would not have gotten these type of minutes). Simply put, the Sixers are not a good team. They are going through some growing pains, but people still seem to think that just having Iverson should guarantee 45-50 wins.
  7. Comrie hasn't done jack since the first week with the team. He hasn't been able to adapt to the east or Hitchcock's style. Granted, part of it is due to the fact Hitch put him on the 4th line with Todd Fedoruk and Patrick Sharp, but now it is just in a cycle stage (can't learn-->doesn't play--->can't learn).
  8. If the Flyers get Burke, Hackett will get a medical buyout of his contact. There is a chance that happens even if they don't get Burke.
  9. Isn't that a rule at the Pro Bowl, that they don't try to block kicks? As well as no blitzing and one other stupid rule (I want to say no receivers in motion).
  10. I can see why you wouldn't think this game was action-packed as this was a poorly played game. Since Philly got a team I think I will give it a chance, but it will be a hard sell as I have never really wanted football all year round.
  11. But AS, he said he was INNOCENTLY asking for an autograph. Seriously, when you have to add in that you were innocently asking for an autograph, odds are you weren't too innocent. And snuffbox, would you quit playing the fucking victim. I fail to see where you made a joke. You brought up the drinking point, then later verified that was your feelings in replying to a Raven_Effect post as well as pointing out to caboose that your reputation proceeds you. You can't just play it off as a joke and then back up the statement made in the first post.
  12. I just want to say TC hit the nail right on the head for me at least. Could things be done to clean up the folder? Absolutely. But nothing was even brought up in the folder itself until Tom accidently posted the rules. I think it is wrong that rules sprang out of a discussion in the HD folder among people who act as though it is a privlege for the folder if they return (the "maybe I'll go back in the folder if the rules change" sentiments.) There weren't any threads in the folder itself, amongst the people who actually post in there, requesting ideas to help change the folder. And I don't think saying take it to site feedback counts, considering if you weren't on during the time Tom's thread was in there you wouldn't even know anything was going on. Dames if you want to make changes on your own that is cool, it's your board. But it doesn't seem as if you initiated the changes, so I don't see why the WWE folder wasn't involved.
  13. j.) None of the above My favorite moment so far was when Jack "shot" Chase. That was bad ass.
  14. That is completely retarded. You give Patrick Ramsey some protection and he is going to be a very good QB in this league and not in the future. He can be an impact player immediately. Oh well, makes me happy seeing them waste cap room on him means they can't use it somewhere else where they need it.
  15. What do you mean Boller was overrated? He could throw a ball 50 yards from his knees. That skill gets used often in the pro game. No chance in hell the Eagles trade up for a WR. First of all, Reid has a low tolerance for rookie WRs. See Billy McMullen this year, his first game he dropped a pass and was never heard from again. Reid doesn't see WRs as a big deal so he wouldn't trade up to get one of the top ones. Of course I wouldn't trade up either as there are so many good-great WR prospects this year it is unnecessary IMO. But what I see him doing is signing a McCareins and maybe using a later round draft pick to develop. Especially if they sign McCareins, since he will cost them a draft pick.
  16. I think Boller was picked 17th, while Grossman was picked in the 22nd area. As for McCareins, I like him and think he could be a solid receiver, but for a WR group in need of a major overhaul he will not satisfy the masses to say the least.
  17. CV, I thought the same exact thing when I saw that sentence. I think she could pull it off, but I don't see any chance in hell that they give a franchise role to Charisma Carpenter.
  18. My prediction for this offseason: The Eagles piss off all of their fans by solving their WR problem by breaking the bank and going after the big name FA ......... Justin McCareins.
  19. I just missed a chance to meet Drew Bledsoe before. My neighbor's cousin is Todd Rucci, who played OL for a few years with NE. I was out the day that he brough Bledsoe over to my neighbor's house. Needless to say I was pissed.
  20. The problem is just piss poor timing. I don't think it is that too wrong for NFL players to holdout, considering the teams have the option of dumping them whenever they want. But to bring this up in January (when you still have about 8 months to renegotiate) and while your team is already in a salary cap crunch is wrong.
  21. I'll believe he isn't entering the draft once the deadline for underclassmen passes. He has probably been told though that he isn't going to be a top 10 pick.
  22. He should beg and plead to be allowed back in school for another year and improve his stock.
  23. I'd use a late second round pick on him. He didn't really bowl me over as a elite back when I saw him play and he appears to be injury prone. Not worth using a real early pick in what appears to be a very good draft. If it was a weak draft I might risk a 1st rounder, but not this year.
  24. Well, I live by the Peter Gibbons mantra where if I had a million dollars I would do absolutely nothing. So I don't want any more than doing nothing and watching TV.
  25. Cool. I get a kick out of it when people congratulate someone on getting a job, though. I just started my job two months ago. Before that I had a bitch of a time finding a job but I was loving life just sitting around and watching tv and movies all day. Then when I get a job people congratulating me pissed me off since it meant I had to give that up.
