  1. The Flyers-Sens set a record with 419 penalty minutes
  2. Robert Esche is just as good as anybody else out there save for the Brodeur class. If he would have been given the starting job from the outset of the season he would have been an allstar, he had all-star caliber numbers.
  3. Burke is not the playoff goalie. This team is going to live or die on Robert Esche's watch.
  4. Yet Phili will choke in the playoffs like every other year. Good thing that is relevant to the way the Sens were acting tonight.
  5. Part of me now wants the Ravens deal to go through just to see Terrell try and explain himself to Ray Lewis. Then the Eagles fan in me shoots that part, and reminds me the Eagles would get him cheap in trade and cheap in contract ($10mil bonus and $6mil/yr, is cheap).
  6. Mark Recchi just whooped Brian Smolinski's ass, that should mean automatic retirement.
  7. Sens-Flyers is the greatest game ever BTW, Brashear goes after Rob Ray Chris Neil goes after Radovan Somik Martin Havlat sits in the penalty box away from everything after starting it Bottom line, the Sens are pussies tonight
  8. IIRC, he throws tomorrow
  9. Antoine Winfield signs v2.0 Minnesota Vikings for 6 yrs/ $35 mil and a $10 mil bonus
  10. Damn you for making me think logically and ruining my basking. So far Hamels has only dominated A ball hitting, he has not even touched AA yet. If he has a dominant month in A ball, he would probably jump to AA. They need to see him against better competition over the course of a season and not jump him up to the majors due to a big ST inning. Plus like C Dubya said they don't need him yet.
  11. And Bowa won't get too excited over him, because the front office has already told him he isn't getting him. So there is no reason to start controversy.
  12. No, he is going to start the season in high A. I think they are targeting 2006, but he may pressure them into 2005 if he dominates the minors and they lose both Milton and Millwood without replacing them this offseason.
  13. In his first big league inning Cole Hamels strikes out the side including Arod and Jeter on nasty changeups. Screw the 440 Million Dollar tandem. Cole > 440 Million Dollars. Shut up, let me bask in this for a bit.
  14. Not really, Owens for a 2nd is good value when you know Owens won't play for you again giving you no leverage and considering you shouldn't be getting anything for him.
  15. They were just saying on WIP that Terrell and his agent may file a grievance. Apparently the comprimise the league had wanted was to have Terrell negotiate a deal and then work a trade with that team. That is how the Eagles went about it, the Ravens just worked out a deal with the Niners first.
  16. Interesting article in the Philadelphia Inquirer today. As the Eagles and Owens, had apparently come to an agreement on a new contract, and when Owens went to tell the team they had already traded him to the Ravens. He is not too happy and with his mouth I imagine we will probably start to hear about it.
  17. I like any of the combinations (# of P and # of IP) except for 4 SP and 3 RP, we already drafted under the assumption that we needed 5 SPs and that RP were less necessary.
  18. I think they pissed off Emmons. With his injury and the apparently sizeable contract proposal the agent faxed over to them, they just decided to let the market dictate his value. I understand their position, I would do the same thing, but he was upset that they did not give him a counter proposal. So they may have burned their bridge with him. I would love to see him back though, but not at what he apparently thinks he is worth. As for McCareins, I am just tired of Reid taking these lesser receivers from other teams (Thrash, the attempt at Darrius Thompson last year) and thinking he can turn them into stars. With the WR crop in this year's draft, you are guaranteed to get a high level WR prospect at the end of the first round and if the chips fall right (other teams in the first rouund not jumping on receivers) you could steal a very high level prospect. I would rather take a chance on one of them, as opposed to another team's retread.
  19. I will hold off bitching until they finish the whole offseason. Signing Kearse certainly bought them some time from me. They still need to address WR and LB, ASAP. CB should be dealt with, but they could bring in a lower tier FA for that and I would be fine with it. I would like to see them pick up Ian Gold and take a WR early. I would love to see them trade up and grab Fitz, Roy W., or Mike W. And I really don't want them sending a 1st rounder to Tennessee for McCareins.
  20. Heh, WIP is going to be fun to listen to on the way home tonight considering the Eagles could have had him if they had sweetened the pot just a little.
  21. They will still get compensatory picks from the league (the extra ones at the end of the round), but you are right in that they won't get picks from the teams that signed the players. The Eagles got a 4th round pick for Trotter a couple of years ago, so Kearse might be worth a third round pick in compensation from the league.
  22. I'll take a second team as well (don't care which one), if we don't get filled up within the next week or two.
  23. Apparently Kearse passed his physical and is officially an Eagle. They have a press conference scheduled for 2 pm.
  24. Any NE fans know who they are gunning for if they make that trade? It seems awful high to grab Steven Jackson, would they make a run at one of the Williams'?
  25. Texans make a nice signing adding Robaire Smith for 6yrs/$26.3 mil with an $8 mil signing bonus. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=1750701 Looks like the Titans are going to be getting some solid compensatory picks with Kearse and Smith gone.
