  1. The link is on the league overview page.
  2. And Flik finally gets a lucky draw with the no.1 pick.
  3. Because it seemed awfully cramped last year. Plus if we start earlier more people can stick around for rounds 2 and 3 instead of the group of 4 of us that picked for everyone in the later rounds last year.
  4. I don't understand that logic. If they stay in the top 4 in the polls, then it isn't up to the person setting up the brackets to decide someone else is better and bump them from a 1 seed. Plus their strength of schedule is in the 30 region. To go 27-0 with a no. 30 schedule means they have beaten their share of good teams.
  5. I don't see how they can't be a no. 1. With their strength of schedule being good, that one loss should drop them no lower than second or third in the national polls. That doesn't include Duke, though, and we know they are going to get bumped above St. Joe's despite 4 losses.
  6. When do you think we should start this? I think April 1 would be good. That is enough time where you will know what your team is doing in FA and enough time to know the players coming out.
  7. Does anyone else think that Vince is going to panic now and throw a shitload of money at Goldberg to replace Lesnar in the monster spot? BTW, I would mark the fuck out if Lesnar took DSE's offer and showed up in the upcoming Pride GP. I wonder if that offer would still stand if he doesn't have the WWF ties.
  8. I didn't think the Naslund hit was dirty. If it was it was borderline dirty, at worst. That, certainly, does not justify what Todd Bertuzzi did. Give him a late hit somewhere in the game? Fine. Start a fight with him? Go for it. Sucker punch him and drive him head first in the ice? Way too far.
  9. Dez White I would be shocked, though, if Owens does not end up on the Ravens. As soon as Ozzie comes to him with a reworked contract, including a signing bonus, he will be a Raven. The Chargers are looking to trade David Boston now, though. If he could be had cheap (3rd or 4th round pick), he could be worth a flyer if he will rework his deal. They can't expect much in trade, I would imagine.
  10. I don't see a difference (stick or not). Hitting someone from behind with the direct intent to injure. And even if you want to take the stick into account, McSorely didn't ride Brashear down and drive his head into the ice. I think that evens up the situations. Bertuzzi needs to be sent home for the rest of the year (inc. playoffs) and then in the summer the NHL can decide if they want to take any more action. But if he doesn't get the rest of the season for breaking someone's neck, you can kiss any respectability the NHL has left in the public eye goodbye.
  11. Sheffield was the highest player remaining in the Yahoo rankings when your turn came. Of course I wonder where they would rank him now. Al, just curious, how soon would you have taken Sheff?
  12. Therian blows. Getting him off of the ice, big plus.
  13. Flyers traded Chris Therian to the Dallas Stars for an 8th in 2004 and a 3rd in 2005. I can't believe someone actually gave up two draft picks for Chris Therian.
  14. Redskins sign Rams CB Jeremitrius Butler to a 6yr/15mil offer sheet. Rams have a week to match. If the Rams don't match they get the Skins 5th round pick and the Skins will only have their 1st round pick in this year's draft remaining. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2207740
  15. That in conference stuff is overblown. I wouldn't trade him in division, but after that who cares. The Eagles don't even enter the Niners radar until the playoffs and the Niners are not a good enough team to think like "lets handcuff ourselves in a deal, because we are worried about seeing him in the playoffs."
  16. They are pretty decent. The post Couture/Ortiz stuff in Couture's dressing room is pretty cool. Mostly just weigh-ins, prelim fighter entrances, and post fight interviews. 15 extras on 43, 10 on 44.
  17. I picked up 43 and 44 last week. It was weird watching 43, with the big set and pagentry, and then watching 44, when they decided to cut their budget with all of that stuff gone. The two Couture fights were pretty freaking good, especially the atmosphere surrounding Ortiz/Couture.
  18. Big shock, Glenn Robinson is injured and out indefinitely.
  19. I don't buy the statement that he told Reid as every local report has stated that Reid only found out about the deal as they were walking down the hall to introduce Jevon Kearse. I have a hard time believing that if that was untrue, that no reporter had broken that as that would be a pretty good scoop.
  20. Absolutely, it was stupid on the Eagles part. I won't deny that. But the fact that they told Owens to go get a contract with the Eagles showed that they wanted to try and work out a deal to a team ready to give him a contract. In that scenario, I think you at least go back to them and tell them the 51st pick has been offered. I don't understand why you wouldn't. What is the worst that happens? The Eagles don't top it and you get the Ravens pick. The best that happens is the Eagles top it and you get more or even better you get them into a bidding war with each other.
  21. I doubt that is the most that the Eagles would have given up. If the Niners had gone back to Reid and told him they were offered the 51st pick, that proposal would have been upped substantially. The Eagles were stupid to lowball like that in the first place. They should have just offered their 2nd round pick and change and just get it over with.
  22. Here is how the whole thing should just play out to go nice and quick: Andy Reid should go to Ozzie Newsome and tell him they will give up their first round pick for him. Newsome should accept since Owens will just be a malcontent for them apparently. This way: Eagles get: Owens at a cheap price ($6 mil/yr with a $10 mil bonus) 49ers get: a free 2nd round pick Ravens: move up a free 23 spots in the draft (51st pick to 28th pick) Everyone wins.
  23. That was apparently the compromise the league came to so he wouldn't file a grievance about the late paperwork, that any deal would go through him. Whether the league should have cared about that in the first place is a different story (the agent fucked up so the league shouldn't care), but if they told Owens that he would be involved in the trade talks then they have to stick by that.
  24. I just saw Pride DVDs in Best Buy for the first time last night. I don't know which one you saw, but the two I saw in there were Pride 17 and 18. Championship Chaos (Pride 17) is awesome and certainly worth the $10. The other would be Cold Fury 2 (Pride 18). I haven't picked that one up yet.
  25. Did anyone see the highlight of Marco Sturm breaking his leg? That almost reached Sid level sickness?
