The Indy incident set F1 back years in the states, have they been back on a major network since? And Tony George and Kevin Kalkovenieninien should both be shot.

To make you feel better, who ya got this season: Alonso, Raikkonen, Massa, or Hamilton?
-
It would sell because like Pocono, it would be one of the only tracks in the northeast (along with Loudon). But I don't think it would really sell with NYC and that is why they won't be able to get the track there. They hold their post season ceremonies there and noone seems to give a damn. Every reporter who attends the post season stuff always mentions that they get almost no interest from the city itself. When they talk about NYC I believe it is more about getting that market as opposed to putting up a track and getting surrounding area fans to show up.

Was there a point to this thread being made other than to go hahaha NASCAR rednecks LOL? Kotz did bring up a couple a couple of valid points. It is getting very much like the NHL, where the core fanbase are getting pushed to the side. While I am not one of those who really cares about Ford/Chevy, there is a contingent of fans who are. The IROCing of the series is going to piss them off. Win on Sunday Sell on Monday was a saying for a reason. The overexpansion is also a problem. Putting cookie cutter mile and a half tracks all over the country in tepid markets takes away from the core fanbase again. The attempt to get a track in NYC when there is apparently ZERO interest there was just sad. Getting rid of the Rock and North Wilkesboro and the continued threat to Darlington and Martinsville is not very well received by a lot of the people. (to piggyback BR4L's point, the fact there isn't another Bristol is insane, you can get 150K in the place and charge anything you want and people will pay. Defeats the whole we need a mile and half to fit the fans arguement) One thing keeping that crowd is the name Earnhardt. As long as Little E is running there will be a strong contingent of fans in the traditional markets. Eventually there is going to be a time like the WWF, where the boom period dies out and you are left with the base crowd. If you eat away at that base it will be a killer. There is a chance it becomes one of the traditional big sports, but with the length of the races, the content (face it, it is hard to get into it if you don't like it ASAP), and no immediate vested interest (no "our" team, if I am in south Jersey that means I like the Philly teams, there is no equivalent in NASCAR) I don't really see that happening.

Local news here had the Eagles as one of 3 interested teams (unnamed other 2), but they have us interested in everyone so take that with a grain of salt.

If you are talking degrees of hurt, of course the moronic coaching change is bigger. Because Johnson is better than McCardell. Again, they don't need him, but if you can get him for close to the minimum he would provide an option to help the younger receivers. He wouldn't steal time and stunt Parker and Jackson, he could be the number three receiver. It is asking a lot of Craig Davis to come into a SB contending team and expect him to be a big part of it. Like I said before though, if you bring in Keyshawn on the minimum and Davis blows away the coaching staff in TC then you can cut Keyshawn. More options don't hurt.
-
It is hoping a little too much though to count on two rooks and two breakout hopefuls. This team is too close to the SB. Bringing in Keyshawn, even if it is for camp and release him if the others blow the coach away, to have someone you know will catch 70 balls can ease some pressure off the young guys. Maybe it is just the Eagle fan in me, but we went through the same thing when Owens was booted ("well we have Reggie Brown and Greg Lewis who have shown things and we throw to the TE and RB anyway") and it wasn't as good. A three receiver set of Jackson, Johnson and Parker, with Davis coming in on packages and letting the late WR develop isn't the worst idea. They probably don't need him, but he wouldn't hurt.
-
Didn't SD draft Craig Davis in the 1st and not resign McCardell? But yeah, they could still use him. I'd take Keyshawn on the Eagles in a heartbeat.
-
Because it is a talking point that can make for good print until the training camps start. Besides, Shaugnessy and Cowherd are known douchepumps that salivate over this type of thing, not familiar enough with McMullen besides the spot ATH appearances. Anyone thinking logically can see that for a 4th and $3.5 million he is worth a tryout and if he blows it he will be cut in a hurry.

She still is dating Feeley, it was a joke

Well there is that too, McNabb already knocked up Heather Mitts and the phone call was to really give him the heads up that another nice looking QB girlfriend was coming into town. Bring on generations of future Eagle QBs

During one of the in-studio segments Michael Smith made mention that he had either texted or emailed Donovan and gotten a response from him that he was pretty shocked by the pick. While Reid made a call to Donovan, before the pick was made, and left a message about the pick so there was no surprise. The fact that McNabb responded to Smith long before Reid has some people, myself included, a little curious. And the fact Reid had to call in the first place to kind of ease his nerves didn't help in some people's eyes ("Is he really that insecure that he needed an I still love you Donnie phonecall". That is stretching it a bit. And there has always been a segment of the fanbase that feels McNabb is a baby. Between the fact he has never gotten over the draft day booing, taking the bait a few times to point out how rough Philly can be, and his mom doing him no favors with the whole Garcia thing. Those people are morons that will never ease off and this is just more fodder for them. The type that yelled when McNabb was not on the sidelines while injured ("He doesn't want to support Garcia's team") and then turn around and yell when he was on the sidelines ("The primadonna is taking attention away from Jeff")
-
If anything people are starting to focus more on McNabb returning Michael Smith's emails before Reid's messages (wonderful fodder for the McNabb is a baby camp, I am not in that camp but it is a interesting point IMO) and wondering if the McNabb countdown clock has officially started.

Probably not the contingent that usually makes the national media drool. The OMG MCNABB SUX PLAY FEEEEELY crowd will probably never get over it. But sacrificing Dhani is a little token to the fans. I have moved on. I look at it this way, if the order was Abiamiri,Bradley,Kolb, and Hunt no one would really be batting an eye over it. It sounds like they would have taken Meriweather if he made it to them and then traded up for Kolb in the second (the rumors are and apparently the FOs opinion was Kolb was going to Miami instead of Beck or Jacksonville if Miami passed). So they weren't blind in disregarding defense with the first pick, there was just no one there they like. And in regards to the well why Kolb over Stanton, Beck, Edwards question....Stanton often blows, Beck will be 30 by the time he would take over for McNabb and Edwards is the walking wounded so there are arguements for Kolb over all of them.

It is now a great day in Philly as BowTie Man has been released, thereby making the Stewart Bradley pick the greatest pick ever just because it allowed the move. A moment of silence for the air banjo player

I am shocked that Reggie Ball wasn't taken. If Detroit took him do you think Calvin Johnson would refuse to sign a contract.
-
Nevermind, of course Denver would trade up to get him. Clarett wasn't enough drawmuh for them a couple years ago
-
Could always go Marcus Thomas. He could be great for the 4 games before he gets suspended. I'd kill right now to have Ben Patrick slip to the Eagles. If he slips to the 5th or if they move up to get him I would really like this draft even with Kolb.
-
I like the post-Kolb draft picks Abiamiri can replace the bust McDougle, Bradley gives them a legitimate SAM if Gocong can't adjust or if they want to do something else with him, and Hunt gives them what they have missed since Staley left. But Kolb is still killing me, the last time I was this upset with a pick though was Shawn Andrews and that has worked out pretty well.

Is there even a point to watching either channel's coverage? They have both given up already. And who the hell is Jaime Dukes and why are they trying to pull some Mad Money style segment with his fat ass? He's like Steven A. Smith's fat big brother.
-
Come on, let me be a little hopeful after that pick.
-
It is pretty good when the reaction gets past the point of pissed and they couldn't even muster up the boos. They have to trade Holcomb now, so maybe they can get a 4th to recoup a bit. But everyone knows they'll have to release him so they might not even get that.
