Come on, Olsen already put on the freaking hat. Make the pick
-
The Bears better take all of 2 seconds for their pick if they have already decideded on Olsen.
-
I like on another board that people are bitching about how the Eagles couldn't get a first when NE could. I wonder if maybe Reid didn't want to completely punt this draft by having to wait until pick 60 to make the first freaking pick. I doubt NE trades out completely if they didn't have Merriweather in their back pocket.
-
I know a lot of Eagles fans were worried we would pick him there (the last couple rounds of mock drafts his name was popping up), since we have enough undersized pass rushing shit against the run ends.
-
Good lord, you might think the Eagles sent Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook and Trent Cole to Dallas for the package they got with the hand wringing they are doing on ESPN. Christ, Dallas overpaid to move up 10 spots when there was apparently nobody on the board worth staying for. How will the franchise recover.
-
This could bring Brian Leonard into play at 36 which I would like as a Leonard fanboy.
-
a 2 a 3 and a 5, I like. Trading down 10 spots isn't killer at this point (a chunk of even players) and an extra three is nice.
-
We better have ass raped them. Certainly not a bad idea to trade out here, but trading with Dallas hurts.
-
Please no o-line...please no o-line....please no o-line Wouldn't mind Olsen here since LJ Smith is likely on his way out, might even be able to move him for a third if you address TE here.
-
Congratulations to ESPN, managed to get to pick 25 before missing a pick

Ouch, the 2nd this year, not the 3rd? Dallas made out like bandits.
-
I meant they would trade the pick to Clev, not take Quinn then trade him. Next year's 1 (which will still be top 10) and this year's third is sick for Dallas, especially considering who is sitting there now (nobody spectacular).
-
shit, now I have to sweat out that Meriweather is there in 5 picks. Don't be surprised if Quinn is still there at 26 if the Eagles are the ones to trade out with Cleveland.
-
I am going to give ESPN a shot, but the second Berman starts his pick spoiling bullshit like last year I am going to switch over. And I am resigned to both being awful post-1st round picks. Last year on ESPN was awful. They shouldn't be having to play the "let's catch up on the last 6 picks" graphic before pick 50.
-
Houston must have really wanted out of that 10 spot, to do this move for just the no.56 and to do it before even seeing who is on the board. I wonder if Schaub is pleading his case for Joe Staley in the 21 slot.
-
That is the worst part. Yes, Coste was likely the beneficiary of a small sample size last year, but christ he at least deserved the chance to prove it. If you were bringing in a legitimate ML catcher is one thing, but dumping the feel good story of last season for Barajas just blows. Spiff: Coste is currently stinking up AAA.
-
Now they just need to dump Barajas. Why he is stealing any at bats from Ruiz (outside of the standard 30-40 games worth of backup catcher ABs) is beyond me.
-
It probably wouldn't be reasonable in any case, usually the no 1 pick is signed on Thursday or Friday night (after having been talking parameters for a week or so). Beyond that I doubt is enough time to work out a contract with the number 2 pick, you might be able to agree to terms but getting the whole contract worked out may be a little much.
-
BTW, if anyone is bored at work, Clayton and Len "For the love of god did you see my combover last week on SC" Pasquerelli are doing their live mock draft on espn.com.
-
They are on the clock anyway. No harm in wrapping things up early. What pisses me off is when the no.1 pick has been signed and they still take the whole 15 goddamn minutes to make the pick.
-
from a Don Banks column: That seems like an awful lot to move up for a receiver that you'll have to guarantee $20+ million to. And counting on 4th rounders to fill needs is a little bit of a stretch they are ok down the line picks or chips to trade up in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, by the 4th I would like to have the main needs filled. That could set up a big draft for Detroit though with 4 of the first 44 picks, an early 3rd, plus 4 5th rounders that the could use as trade bait. With everything that team needs, I don't see how they could pass that deal up if it is for real.
-
Besides the fact that they wouldn't get a Herschel Walker deal for him anyway. Nobody gives up those type of deals in the salary cap era when they would be taking on a contract like Vicks. You might get a high first for him, maybe a 1st plus but I doubt you could get a team rebuilding deal.
-
I am sure someone will throw a pick on him, probably a fifth. Figure everyone might take a chance in the 6th so someone will jump a round early. Detroit with 4 of the first 21 picks in the 5th round wouldn't shock me. They could spare one to stash a player.
