What's "full of shit" about it? I heard the interview, I heard John Kerry say those words. He said it, what's the problem with Mike bringing it up? Kerry is a tool, who rally doesn't know how ot run for public office. He's only been opposed by a quasi-legitimate contender twice for his seat in the Senate. It's really no wonder that he's starting to fuck up and spout off this ultra-PC nonsense that will turn off all but the most radical left wingers in his base. The guy can't make a decision for himself. He tries to follow the trends and polls. He's just like Clinton only Kerry lacks any and all personality. He's a drone and doesn't conect to most people. Last I heard the guy was already behind Bush in the polls after months of Bush bashing and before Bush has fired a true shot across his brow. You talk about Mike having a "GOP can do no worng" attitude, maybe you you try being just a little introspective and realize that you are the pot and you've just called the kettle black.

You act as thought those who can cure terminal diseases are poorly paid. It's a matter of economics, not emotion that ball players make more than doctors. Ball players, in theory put asses in seats and bring in more money for the team. Doctors can only perform so many operations in a year and the money they bring in is far less than the ball players. Plus when was the last time you heard baout a hot free agent doctor? I'm sure there actually are some, though. Figure that the president of the United States, as much as some people (including myself) hate him, makes around $240,000 a year for running one of the largest nations in the country. ARod makes something like 200 times that much to swing a stick. Not that it's easy to do, but somehow I think George W. Bush has the more difficult job. Anyway, my point is more based on economics anyway. Of course New York has more money than anybody else...they have a larger population to draw from. The Yankees could sell out even if they suck because even without the fair weather fan, there are so many people in the area that the diehards are bound to still outnumber some markets' entire populations. The President make $400,000, up from the $250,000 that Clinton made. Congress passed the bill during Clinton's administration but an incumbant can't recieve a pay raise because he signs the bill and it would be a conflict of interest to say the very least. But that not with standing, the President doesn't put asses in seats for up to $250 a pop (fund raisers are diferent) and he's a public servant. Sure New York can out reforce anyone in the game. Bill Gates has a bigger house than I do, I'm not crying about it. I'm a Red Sox fan and I don't cry about NYY's money. Them having more money isn't "fair" in that they can vastly outspend everyone else but is fair in that they play the same game everyone does, they can just play it on a higher level economically. If Georgie wants to spend $1 Billion on his team then more power to him. It is within the rules of MLB for him to do so. Your point really wasn't based on economics, you're point was based on emotion and nothing more. You went from "why are ballplayers paid more than doctors" to "the Yankees haev more money than everyone." And New York won't sel out if they suck, they have the most fickle and spoiled fans in the country. They didn;t sell out when they sucked in the late 80s and early 90s and they still don't sell out every game. Their revenue comes from the TV deal and merchanidse. A lot of people wear Yankees caps. Why someone would want a navy blue hat with what looks like bird shit on the front of it is beyond me, but that's New Yorkers for you.

Fill me in. What is a salary floor? I thought this was funny. That is all. An Anglesault idea based on the fact that owners, either for lack of money or lack of want to spend it, do not invest in their team to make it competitive. So in contrast to the NFL limiting how much you can have on the payroll, a salary floor would mean you'd have a minimum amount of money you're putting into your team. He, as a fan of a baseball team that spends exorbitant amounts of money to win, supports it. I, as a fan hockey team that sits on exorbitant amounts of money because there's no incentive to win, supports it. OK, I suppose that's a good idea in theory. BUt what about teams that suck so bad that no one goos wants to go there and because they suck no one goes to teh games so they don't make enough money to make it worth their investment. They would be forced to overpay for inferior players and skew the salary structure in the game. I mean a team could go out and sign Derek Bell for millions....Oh wait the Pirates did that a few years ago.

What's the pink shit in her ears? Are they strected like those National Geographic people? I don't care for that or the glasses, but I'd let her give me head in the bathroom at a party. I's fuck the one on the right, unless she's fat which seesm to be a possibility. She's cuter than the other three, the ones who you were with.

Then you two can SWING DANCE~!

Because each and every one of us selects their job based on the best offer possible. Its no different in any other occupation. Why should a free agent select an inferior offer? Its not leaving for more money that bothers me, hell my team benifits from other's good drafts and relative lack of funds/willingness to spend them. But this disingenous bull shit about it not being about the money or "I have to feed my family" is what really bothers me. That's why I like Foulke, he basically said "I took the best offer (read the most money)" I like honesty. When Giambi signed with NY he gave the stock "The Yankees are the greatest franchise in sports and I feel priveleged to play on the same field as Ruth, Gehrig, etc..." line. While that may have had somethign to do with it the bottomlien is that NY trumped Oakland's offer. Giambi also floated that he would haev taken Oakland's offer if they offered a no trade clause. First of all, Giambi is untradeable for that type of money considering his lack of fielding adn running ability and was lucky that to teams were willing to overpay for him and second of all, if he really wanted to stay in Oakland he could have worked somethign out with them. I'm just using Giambi because i hate him, there are several otehr players who fall into this camp as well. The only exceptions I can think of for "elite" players in recent memory are Griffey, Pettite, Sosa (I think), McGuire, and Tony Gwinn. They realized that being closer to home, being where they're comfortable, whatever is more important than stock piling a few extra million dollars on top of the 50 or so they have in the bank.

Not for as long as the breaks are. Although my main beef is with unending commercial breaks after every pitching change. This is especially bothersome when a manager becomes obsessed with the platoon advantage. I agree with the breaks during pitchign changes to a degree, but do you realy want to watch a guy warm up? First off, you kill your business in ten markets. I can not imagine any successful business closing shops when they draw real business. Also, I disagree with the 5 game Championship series. Baseball is such a random sport that it needs long playoff series to determine a real winner. I did say it was unpopular and impossible. But I still feel it would provide the best possible play on the field. Less bad pitchers filling out a roster equals better games. The 5 game idea was to shortent he season a little. Playing in Novememer in the north is not pleasent especially when the games start at 8:30 pm EST. On one hand, no sympathy for travel days, but on the other hand, sympathy for 40 degree weather? How about this compromise. Keep the 162 game season, and start it slightly later by scheduling doubleheaders. The player's union would never go for scheduled double headers. If they won't let one of their members do what he wants with his contract they won't allow them to play twice in a day unless it's necessary due to rain outs or whatever. But I do like the idea of Sunday double heaaders. First off, free agents are not "greedy." Second, I think Oakland was perfectly happy to let Giambi leave. Third, if NY offers the max, the player will go to NY for the "prestique," and we have the same problem we have now. Baseball didn't have a problem with the Yankees until they tried fixing it. Then it all went to hell. Many free agents are most certainly greedy. Did Keith Foulke sign with Boston for any other reason than money? No, he said so. Did Giambi sign with NYY for any other reason than money? No, unless he is completely lying about loving Oakland. The list goes on. Both those guys were offered very lucrative contracts by their former teams and both jumpoed at the bigger offers from their new teams. Don't give me the "they have to feed their family" shit either.

Tony used to call the guard rail arounf the ring the "safety rail". That really irritated me. "Oh he dropped him throat first across the safety rail." It just annoyed me. I remember when Tony could spout out some much WCW history before a big match that it made JR's patented football notes look paltry. I don't think he just started to suck, I think he was told to do his job a different way when Hogan came in. IE, put Hogan over at any all expense during the whole show and WCW didn't exist before I got here brother, so forget about history. WCW actually made Tony put over WWF history when Hogan showed up. Mr. T, WM 3, Beefcake, Savage, etc...

Ok, that sounds vaguely familiar. So, Flair never wore the "colors" of the nWo. I didn't think so. I think teh group became nothing more than a glorified stable when they split it into Wolfpac and Hollywood, the point remains the same. They could have been more if Vince didn't fuck the whole thing up form the get go with the his wierd "injecting a lethal dose of poison" promos. If they just showed up and started ransacking the place like they did in WCW and you actually won matches and stuff they would have gotten over. But instead we got a bizare promo at No Way Out where they said that they didn't want to kill the WWF and then had both Rock and Austin verbally punk them out in the back. Then we got Hall being taped to a chair adn held hostage while Hogan and Nash cried about it. And people wonder why this didn't work? I;m not saying it would have set the company on fire but it surely woudl have provided interest adn top level feuds that could have gone on for more than a month. Vince should have just brought back Hogan and left the other two behind, seeing as though Nash isn't really entertaining with out Hall and they didn't trust Hall not to fuck up and as such refused to push him.
-
Ric Flair was in the nWo? I don't remember this at all. I rememebr Hall, Nash, Hogan, Waltman, HBK, Booker, and vaguely Big Show. But Flair is totally foriegn to me. He's never had any affiliation with any of those guys or even the original nWo. What were the circumstances around his joining?

Yes and then I DANCED~!. Didn't you read the post? ::Drags AS out of the aWoMobile and Somestomps his ass into the ground:: BTW, who is The #1 MST3K Mark? What was his original name?

Al, the commercial breaks are pretty short as it is for non-ESPN or Fox games. The pitcher does have to get his arm loose again. Baseball: I know it's unpopular and impossible, but I'd dump 10 teams and have 2 divsions in each league, a 5 game CS and a 7 game WS. But since it isn't possible. I'd reduce the schedule back to 154 games, it's still fucking cold in Boston and many other places. This would allow the season to start a few days later. Put playoff games closer together. No travel days, 1 day off for each series. I don't care if Boston is playing Oakland. Play fucking ball! No leaving the batter's box. I dont' want to see some hitter walking around, I want to see him swinging the bat (or takign pitches). Put a limit on trips to the mound. One visit from either the manager, catcher, or pitching coach per pitcher. Force the pitchers to work faster. Call the strike zone as it should be: Letters to the knees. Dump interleague play. It was kind of cute at first, bit I don't want to see teh Sox play Pitt or the Brewers. Drop or change the unbalanced schedule. 19 games is too many. I think I knew TB, TO, Bal, and NYY's roster's as well as the Sox's last year. Create a 7 day DL. This way a guy who is sick or mildly ingured can get better, without missing 2 weeks or making the team shorthanded. A manager who comes out to argue a call without being entertaining should be ejected. None of this "I just want to disucuss the call peacefully" bullshit. Kick dirt, scream, throw your hat, or a base or stay in the fucking dugout! Those guys should be ejected too, BTW. Salary cap on players salaries. No player can make more than "x" amount. That way teams can still outspend others but the other team knows what the competition can spend. If the salary cap was $15 million a player, Giambi would still be in Oakland and A-Rod in Seatle and so on and so on. using the $15 million number the team max payroll would be $375 mil. Even the Yanks won;'t hit that until at least 2006. This would help certain teams keep their greedy free agents or show the team or the player for what they truly are. If Giambi had identical monetary contracts from both Oak and NYY and still went to NYY then it would prove he didn't want to stay, no money excuses, no "respect" horseshit. Basketball: Eliminate timeouts. They get a ton of tv timeouts, they don't need anymore. Intensional fould should be punishable by ejection. I hate watching the end of a basketball game. It's all fouls and timeouts. Boring! Stop calling ticky-tack fouls. An accidental slap on the hands shouldn't stop the game. Get rid of this charging and blocking shit too. Play ball! If you're scared to break a nail get off the court. Football: Eliminate timeouts, like basketball, they get enough as it is. The last five minutes of a football game takes over 20 to get through. It's annoying. Hockey: People watch Hockey?

Tyler, don't pretend that you're not. I'm telling you that you are. And it's not a bad thing. Having no opinion on major issues shows a LACK of intellect, not having more of it. -=Mike Was that a backhanded shot at Kerry? Does having opposing opinions on the same issue make you more of an intellectual? About the Nader thing that Jobber just posted: It's funny, the left had no real problem with him when they thought Gore would cruise into the White House and now "he screwed up the last election" and they're starting the tried and true Democrat method of character assasination. No real suprise. Perot gave us Clinton, it happens. Although the vast majority of those who voted for Perot were pissed at Bush for lying about not raising taxes and rebeled. It's really the conservative's fault. As far as Nader voters go, I think most of them actually wanted the guy in the White House. So it's hard to blame people for voting for the candidate that best fits their ideology or someone for running. No one really called out Pat Buchanon for "stealing votes" from Bush that I heard. Perot was a lessen to the GOP to not lie about tax increases, Nader was a lessen that there are a good portion of left wing whackos. In other words the Perot problem could be fised, the Nader problem can't be unless the Dems shift even further left in which case they won't see the inside of the White House unless the President invites them.

The first PM I ever recieved. Memories. I still wonder who this was, he never even posted and apparently thought I fucking sucked and was a faggot. I still go to bed weeping about this. It's intesnifies this time of the year beacause the two year anniversary is upcoming. I'll go through a box of kleenex's that day. ::Message boards make me cry:: -
No, but I've nearly hit several of them who think that they can ride as fast as I am driving and cut in front of me without warning and I was alomst hit by one in Boston the other day. He ran a red light. Actually some person of relative prominence in Boston (I;m told he is anyway) was hit and put into a coma by some bicyclist who sped around a corner on the sidewalk.

Straight and narrow as far as what? That he didn't know 9/11 would happen? No one did. That he may not have talked to Dick Clarke as much as Clarke would have liked? Do I think that the Bush administration has been on the straight and narrow as far as 9/11 is concerned? Yes, for the most part I do. Do I think that this 9/11 hearing is nothing more than political randstanding and an infomercial for Clarke's book? Yes, I do. I think it's nonsense to think that any and I mean any, regardless of party would ignore legtimate intelligence saying that terroists were going to hyjack and fly planes into buildings. I was joking a little bit about how the right would only be mad about the nationalizing of airline security. Many other things would have been brought up. But the pres. would have most likely been ignored by the GOP while the Dems would have accused him of "wagging the dog."

Good God! I have to get into the racist extortionist business. I want to stay at the Sheriton for $3600 a pop. That's really interesting considering that two former (Sharpton might as well be) presidential candidates spend more on average than the President of the united State, who has tons of secret service and security needs. Yeah, that Sharpton, he can really relate to the average black man. -
That's still the most incredibly lame excuse. I can't even begin to fight it because it's so lame. Any President who would neglect national security so travelers can get on the plane faster ought to be impeached. Kerry ought to just move to talking about deficit spending until the jobs thing deflates, again, like it always does. Do you really believe that? Picture this: Presidetn Bush comes on TV in May 2001 and says that there is a grave threat of international terroists hyjacking planes with boxcutters and then flying them into both towers of the WTC and the Pentagon. So we're going to lock down the borders, nationalize airline security, and cause you, the American public to have to wait in even longer lines to get on planes. That means that if you have an 8:00 am flight, you'll have to arrive at the airport at 6:00 am. So lets get started! People on both the right and the left would have thought he was fucking crazy. The "has he fell of the wagon" jokes would have started. He would have be accused of driving the country into to hysteria to avoid that fact that the "Bush Recession" is ongoing, and to try to legitimize his "judicially appointed presidency". The right would have said, "you want to nationalize airline security? What, are you ficking nuts?!" This never would have gone over with the public. To think it would have, or even that Bush knew 9/11 would happened and ignored it for (insert conspirisy theory here) is just naive, but out and out stupid. Instead the left follow the leader like lemmings and tune into the news every night to here more of Dick Clarke's American Grandstand and whatever horseshit that Kerrey has to montonely spew and think that him droning "Bring it on!" with all the enthusiasm of a man awaiting a rectal exam is catchy, cute, and the ticket to "taking back our country." (Apparently to the depression days of the New Deal).

A biker's bill of rights? Good grief, and I thought it was bad enough with "taxpayer's" and "patient's" bills of rights. I don't mind people riding bikes, but many of them, in my experiences, don't obey any of the laws of the road... We really don't have very many, if any bike lines. Shit, we hardly have proper car lanes and the ones we do no one pays attention to anyway. You've obvioulsy never been to Boston. Here orange lights cause everybosy to speed up and crosswalks and "walk" lights don't mean anything. People just walk into the street, sometimes without looking and using the crosswalk is possibly more dangerous than jaywalking. My dad got hit by a car years ago while in a crosswalk and with the light. It's totally different here than any other big city I've been too (NYC, Chicago, Indianapolis, Montreal, Toronto, etc...). There's no rhyme or reasonto the lay out of the streets so there is no rhyme or reason to the way pedestrians move. All the roads are undersized and we have endless contruction, no all the "Big Dig" either. Bike lanes would just further narrow the streets and cause more problems. What the bill should say is, "get a fucking car or take the "T" (subway) like normal people do, you freaky tree huggers!" But, alas this is Mass. do we have to accomodate the very small minority (bicyclists) even if it means negatively affecting the super-majority (drivers). Hell, especially if it means affecting drivers. Those people are evil, they pollute the environment and run over peaceful, nonpoluting, MassPIRG endorsing, tree hugging bicyclists. Like I said, this state is fucked up beyond words. BTW, teh same woman who wrote this bill also wrote another that would allocate funds to put in more crosswalks among other things. She's from a town called Belmont. Belmont is an upper-middle class suburb of Boston, with so many crosswalks and so many cops on crosswalk duty that it is impossible to drive through the 1/4 mile long center of town in less than 10 minutes. You come to the outskirts of the center and have to stop for some bitch with her kid in a stroller and then 20 feet later you have to stop for an 80 year old couple to waddle, very slowly across the street and again 20 feet later for more of the funa dn excitmetn that is watchign people cross the street when they could easily be funneled into hald as many croswalks and be taught to wait until traffic lightens or some schmuck stops to let them cross.

Does anyone else see the irony of the "Where are the jobs Mr. President" liberals forcing several radio hosts off the air and as such out of jobs? I though they were teh party of the little people. I find the fact that they are forcing a blactivist station off the air to be the best example of their hypocracy.
