Review: WWF WrestleMania IX, from Las Vegas, Nevada; 4/4/1993.

Marella was selling a ref bump. Was it really that bad a segment? -
In retrospect, Yoko really did do a great job in that role. He became a credible heel and performed good matches for a man his size.

Lou Gehrig 1937: Best hitter in American League 1939: 4-28 1941: Dead -
The A's really should not have lost that game. I missed Emil Brown's baserunning, but the A's had Matsuzaka on the ropes several times. Matsuzaka could not locate his breaking pitches, but the A's just could not hit that fastball when challenged.
-
Matsuzaka really struggling right now, he can't throw strikes. A's have the bases loaded with one out.
-
Yeah, I have no problems here.
-
ESPN2 claims the game IS available in HD. I'm up! Ready to go, at least until I go to work at 730.

Giving this a fresh start. I see there's a St. Joseph's/Oklahoma rematch in the opening round. That St. Joe's team is one of my personal favorites and that game was a lot of fun in 2004.
-
Yeah, I would love to have that rotation.
-
How many times has that happened? 1988 due to their partying, 1993, perhaps 2005, has to be another one in there. Jannetty in a couple of years has a shot to be the first wrestler fired by Vince McMahon in four different decades!
-
I suggest a simpler definition. A transitional champion is a wrestler who loses the title in the next major feud, to a different wrestler.
-
What if they simply ran a Jannetty/Michaels IC title match instead? Give Jannetty the big title win, it gives the fans a potential good match and a memorable moment to boot.
-
Correct. Actually EDT, but that's a technicality.

Probably not a good idea in this era to fly a renegade airship out over a major outdoor event. Geico last year rented a small plane to fly a banner advertisement over both a Phillies game and the Pennsylvania 500. Obviously it's legal to some extent. The problem is that they would receive no national exposure from it, it would never make the air.

A note on the weather. Maybe someone from southern Florida can back me up on this, but typically scattered thunderstorms come through in the afternoon and clear out most evenings.
-
It's not as bad, it's worse. Last time I watched it felt like such a piece of garbage.
-
Not the best use of language, but you get the idea. It wasn't just a PPV with a tragic accident. The wrestling was subpar isolated from that incident.
-
Dismember to Dismember is simply not PPV quality at all. The portion of the card in the middle would rank as good if shown on a syndicated weekend show. Over the Edge has Owen Hart of course. The rest of the card really dies after that, no wrestler has any real interest in the card, with good reason. They were obviously just going through the paces.

King of the Ring '95 Over the Edge '99 ECW Discember to Dismember '06 Those come to mind off the top of my head.

I agree with the Gino's decision. I wouldn't do it myself, but if a business wants to make a statement like that, it's their own business. Personally though, I liked a different sign better at an old pizza shop in my area. "Customers who take two or more minutes to order three pizzas or less will be shot." I think that's a sign we can all rally behind.

Kinetic would've knocked it out of the park.

It's not planes, not trains, not cars or boats

That's what the butthurt portion of the IWC is all about nowadays though, so I thought I'd set the record straight. You're new. You don't need to get automatically confrontational about something. There are more polite ways of doing it. -
Sweep of Salisbury! Frank Viola starts my next game, and with an 0-3 record and 22.71 ERA, he's fighting to keep his rotation spot. I asked the system to give him a slow hook, if he gets shelled I want at least to see him get work in.

I'd say it's more likely that Sensai simply transcribed a number wrong, not part of some vast conspiracy to discredit Shawn Michaels. -

One of the best prospects in baseball right now. He's 22 years old, a third baseman with a good bat and power. He led the AA Southern League in slugging percentage and OPS at a young age. He has hit at every level of the minors, and is probably MLB ready. He could spend a month yet in the minors, but he could easily rank among the best players in the league in a couple years.
