  1. The affiliate claimed MLB broadcast restrictions. In any case, seeing as how I'm missing work tomorrow, I am really, really, really, really, really fucking pissed.
  2. WOLF Fox 56 from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. I also get NY's Fox station.
  3. You've got to be fucking shitting me. No Phillies game?!
  4. The Yankees have 95 wins. Only the Sox can catch them, and not the Indians. If the Yankees and Red Sox end up tied, there is no possibility the Indians would match them, so both teams would advance to the playoffs. The team with the better head to head matchup would win the division, and the Yankees clinched that.
  5. It's alright. I'm glad you started this, as we need boxing threads.
  6. Phillies score 4 in the first. I would've liked to see it.
  7. How many times do I need to remind you people that I banned OaO threads?
  8. I do agree though that it's frustrating to see your game marginalized when you see it properly any other time of the season.
  9. I like it. If the Yankee/Sox game becomes more competitive, they can concentrate on that game. I just hope the overrun doesn't effect my Phillies viewing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats fine for you Al. I live rightout side Manhattan and I want to watch the Yankees against the Red Sox. I dont want to watch picture in picture with the White Sox and Indians playing with a larger picture and sound. Just update me when there is a change in score for that game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It could be worse. I missed a Phillies game entirely when both Fox affiliates (NYC and Wilkes-Barre) on my cable system showed the Yankees instead.
  10. I like it. If the Yankee/Sox game becomes more competitive, they can concentrate on that game. I just hope the overrun doesn't effect my Phillies viewing.
  11. It's on Fox nationally. Your local station may choose to air Indians/White Sox though. If they do, write them letters of praise.
  12. Watch closer. Posada's 15th in walks and 43rd in strikeouts. You don't place 15th in the league in walks without a good batting eye. It's hard to believe a guy like Posada who plays in NY and has three titles can be underrated, but he is.
  13. Phillies win, and the Cubs tie the game. Hope lives.
  14. Posada has the worst eye in baseball? Do you even watch the games?
  15. Again, explain to me what is wrong with these tiebreaker rules, and how you would make them better.
  16. The Yankees need pitching. They really should go after Jeff Weaver this offseason.
  17. Hope field advantage would mean ONE extra home game in the entire playoffs. Using a key starter in a playoff would negate any advantage gained from that one game, so it's not worth it.
  18. As for the tiebreakers, let me see if I can explain this better. If the Yankees win two or three, they win the AL East outright. If the Red Sox win three, they win the AL East outright. If the Red Sox win two of three, then we have a tie for the division. If both teams are tied with Cleveland (Cleveland would have to go 2-1), a convoluted playoff is necessary where the Yankees battle Boston. The winner takes the division, while the loser faces Cleveland for the wild card. If Cleveland has a better record (Cleveland sweeps), then its Sox/Yankees on Monday for the division and playoff berth. If both teams have a better record than the Indians (Cleveland goes 1-2 or 0-3), no playoff is necessary because both the Sox and Yankees would advance to the Playoffs. The Yankees would win the division due to their head to head record for bookkeeping purposes.
  19. Is there a better way of doing it?
  20. I agree with the above comments regarding the Boston media. It is disgusting to watch, especially when the Red Sox have won 93 games at this point in the season. Yes they have some problems, but 93 wins is 93 wins. They have one of the best catchers in the league, one of the best center fielders, the best left fielder, and the best designated hitter. Everyone discounts Wakefield, but he's been the best starter on either the Sox or the Yankees this season. Both teams are flawed. So are the White Sox, Indians and Angels. It what makes this season so interesting. I don't know what will happen this weekend. The Yankees have to be favorites to take the division since they are a game ahead. But all the analysis in the world can not predict a three game series. For both team, it's blast away and hope to win a slugfest. The only spot the Yankees clearly have an advantage is their closer Rivera.
  21. 9-7 Yankees. Sox would have to sweep to take the series.
  22. That's nothing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It equals one home game in the entire playoffs. Is that worth using a key starter?
  23. If the Indians finish with a worse record than the Red Sox and Yankees, there is no tiebreaker. The Yankees would win the division, and the Sox would take the wild card.
  24. Here we go kids. A separate thread to discuss this weekend's series, and any possible tiebreaker on Monday.
