  1. Pinned this thread. If you have any questions about your team, would like to see your roster, or would like the league file for your own OOTP sim, feel free to contact me via AIM.
  2. Tremendous start for Brett Myers. 6 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 Ks. Maybe this is the year he fulfills his potential. If so, the Phillies staff looks alot better right now.
  3. Oddly enough, that is probably what George told A-Rod after the game while Torre just shrugged his shoulders and made sure his check was signed. Torre tried to do something, but this organization discourages urinating on contracts as a motivational technique.
  4. Yeah, the Mariners acquired Bret Boone and Ichiro Suzuki, and the Rangers managed to pull together a decent bullpen. It's no secret that Rodriguez performs voodoo curses in order to doom his own team's bullpens. Someone call Jobu, take fear from pitchers in bullpen and gloves. And get A-Rod a live chicken! A Major League reference, and no Roger Dorn comment? I'm ashamed.
  5. Yeah, the Mariners acquired Bret Boone and Ichiro Suzuki, and the Rangers managed to pull together a decent bullpen. It's no secret that Rodriguez performs voodoo curses in order to doom his own team's bullpens.
  6. One point that is missed. Mariano Rivera has now blown his last FOUR save opportunities versus the Sox.
  7. And just for the fun of it, if Toronto's lead holds up, they will sit atop the AL East!
  8. Shut up. Shut the fuck up. We haven't won a world series in FIVE years. We only have THREE players left from that team, four if you count Tino. You needed today's game as validation that the "dynasty" was over? Fucking moron. Do us all a favor, and slit your wrists after you read the next paragraph. Anyway, watching the game I didn't hear any boos towards him, not enough for the TV mics to pick up anyway. And I did hear an audible cheer when Damon recorded the last out, so there was obviously (as usual) a lot of Red Sox fans in the house. I'd like to give Michael Kay the finger. Please watch the personal insults. I can't see calling an end to the Yankee dynasty, considering it was against the toughest offensive team in the league, a team that seems to have figured out Mariano Rivera. Besides, it is early in the season. I'm going to wait before the Yankees lose the division before calling it over. "Wrong Hole" Buster Olney would disagree, of course.
  9. It also looked like A-Rod got a glimpse of the runner coming from third and that caused the last bobble.
  10. Yeah, I made some picks when I didn't hear back right away. I will change those, and PM you your full roster. Oh and by the way, Chuck Klein was taken. Would you take Lefty O'Doul or Babe Herman?
  11. You'll need the XM Radio and components (perhaps $100-200). For a subscription, it runs about $39 for three months.
  12. Absolutely.
  13. Over a Phillies World Series win? Not really. But I think the only way for Abreu to win the MVP is for the Phils to win the division. I'd like to see both, but the question asked for just one.
  14. There are 15 english stations. The Spanish station is added. Agreed on both points.
  15. Agreed. It's nice having a dedicated baseball chat channel instead of having to wade through steaming piles of football talk (its fucking April).
  16. Bobby Abreu winning the MVP award.
  17. ESPN.com says Kirk Saarloos. Full plate tomorrow. ESPN has Boston/NY at 1pm, while ESPN2 has Atl/Fla at 7pm, and LA/SF at 10pm.
  18. Cool. That gives me an extra first baseman. Anyone interested in trading for 3B/1B Dick Allen?
  19. How about Vern Stephens? He averaged 147 RBIs over three years for the 1948-50 Red Sox, plus he plays shortstop.
  20. I can't see it doing much good, since the Sox would do the same thing to any other reliever the Yankees place on the mound.
  21. One note about the minor league tests that are missed. These apparently are just results from the Arizona spring training sites. Not really.
  22. Juan Encarnacion hits a grand slam and the Marlins have scored five runs in the first off John Smoltz.
  23. I'm willing to deal a righty pitcher (Deacon Phillippe or Tommy Bridges) for a lefty arm.
