I just posted this in CS, but for the benefit of those that dont read anything there..I just made a startling revelation! The Orioles have played John Denver's "Thank God Im a Country Boy" at the 7th inning stretch for as long as I can remember, it goes back to the days of Mark Bellanger because his wife liked the song. John Denver died October 12, 1997. The Orioles lost the next game they played in OPACY (Game 6 of the ALCS on October 15, losing the Series to the Indians) and have never had a .500 season since. Its the Curse of John Denver!

I wanna push the thread back to the topic of bad music at sporting events. What would an ECW PPV right now consist of? Morrison/Punk Big Daddy V/Boogeyman Richards/Thorn Miz/Balls Thats what they've built up which is actually impressive considering its only a 1 hour show and its still more solid fueds than whats going on RAW right now. Assume that Burke and Dreamer would probably get a match since they are effectively the only other two guys left on the roster still active, probably a #1 contender match or something. I might watch that for free but ha if you think anyones gonna pay for that. As far as Morrison staying as champ..Im bleh on it..I mean..they might as well let the guy go with it for a while and see where it goes. Punk will get shots at titles on RAW/SD in the future that would mean more anyway in the long run. They might just be able to turn "Johnny Nitro" into something on ECW after an extended title run on ECW and port him over to SD (hopefully!) like they're doing with others.

They had 3 last year, 3rd was Olson and Im sure they'll carry 3 again this year.

Which game are you going to? Its a doubleheader, 1st at 5pm (Gabbard vs C-Cab), 2nd at or after 8:30 (Rheinecker vs Olson) Id say take the lightrail if you can get to a station, as theres a lightrail station right behind the warehouse, parking is free and a round trip fare is like 5 bucks. Although thats only a good idea if you're going to the first game unless you want to leave early from the 2nd (light rail service ends around midnight I think). Oh, and Bedard won to improve to 13-4, undefeated in his last 12 starts dating back to June 15th (9-0). They even brought up the # 300 in the broadcast tonight, as Bedard sits at 218 ks with probably like..6 or 7 starts left. He is averaging very close to 11 ks/9 IP so its not very much out of the realm of possibility but I doubt it. If he hadn't had such a crappy April he would be the #1 AL CY candidate as he'd be sitting on about 15 wins and a much lower than 2.97 ERA.

Orton wont hold the belt long if he does win since we know hhh will be the one to beat him..

Bedard is 1 strikeout away from tying Mussina's Oriole record for K's in a season (218) in 1997 with his 10 tonight through 6 2/3 Mussina took 31 starts to get to 200 ks in the season he got 218, Bedard hit 200 in his 26th start. and he tied the record, but not before giving up 2 runs..but its still 6-2.

Millar just got a double to extend his on base streak in consecutive games to 47, 2 behind Ken Singletons 49 in 1977 for the Os record. Os have given Bedard a 6-0 lead in the 5th, and Bedard already has 7ks.

Cena's gonna no show, get stripped of the title and..Orton wont get it..Vince will give it to his son..or make sure his son wins it someway..
