  6. I rest my case. It looks like she waxes her upper lip. I think when she had her boobs done she had something done to her face as well, it doesn't look like that anymore..
  7. I don't follow. I think what he means is that they might finish ahead of Baltimore. no..thats not possible. They might not finish in last place if say, Toronto does, but the Devil Rays won't finish ahead of the Orioles.
  8. So Austin Stunned Benjamin? uhuh..
  9. Its stupid things like droping Butler that show how stupid I am sometimes.. Caron Butler had 30 points and 13 rebounds..
  10. Baltimore Orioles Starting Lineup 2B Roberts 3B Mora SS Tejada 1B Palmeiro C Lopez RF Gibbons DH Cust LF Bigbie CF Matos Strong lineup in comparison to previous years. Tejada will have a great year, although Lopez will probably have an off year if compared to last year with Atlanta. Javy could see some DH though. Palmeiro is struggling this spring but I think its just a case of a 39 year old not wanting to expend much energy or risk injury durring the Spring. Gibbons is due for a breakout year - 30 HR 100 RBI .285 avg. Roberts is the better upside at 2B then Hairston. A lot is riding on Mora playing well at 3B this year, although Im liking Jose Bautista's chances of being the everyday 3B next year. Bigbie and Matos round out a decent OF and the DH platoon of Cust/Surhoff/Sequi will hopefully be more Cust than the two later players. Bench C Gil or Osik 3B Bautista (has to be on active roster or offered back to Pittsburgh) 1B - Segui OF - Surhoff IF Garabito / OF McDonald / IF Damian Jackson (he was released recently) The Bench absolutely sucks. Bautista will probably see a lot of time at 3rd if an OF gets hurt since they will probably move Mora to fill in. Segui is still hurting and cant even swing the bat from one side of the plate. Surhoff is a good guy to have on the bench but he really can't be counted on for more than an occasional PH appearance. Either Gil or Osik will be the backup catcher, Gil swings the better bat but isn't that great defensively, while Osik is much better offensively but lacks the bat. When Hairston comes back that last spot open to 3 players will be sent down, although he could be traded in July if Roberts plays well. Rotation RHP Ponson LHP Dubose RHP Ainsworth LHP Riley LHP Bedard/RHP Lopez Ponson isn't really a #1 but he'll have to be anyway. Hes the Veteran of this staff that has virtually no experience, even if Lopez makes the 5th spot (none of them have more than 2 years major league experience). 3 Lefthanders is also going to be interesting (if Bedard makes the 5th spot). Ainsworth is the future #2 or even #1, and as much as I like him, the 3rd spot is perfect for him this year. I saw Riley pitch A Ball several years ago, but hes a completely different pitcher now in attitude and just the way he pitches. Dubose probably isn't ready to be a #2 starter but he could be a bit of a surprise. I don't know much about Bedard. Bullpen Closer - Julio Dejean Bedard/Lopez Groom Ryan Bauer Bullpen should be a strong point with the pickup of Dejean, who might get a shot at the Closer role if Julio struggles. Groom might be traded in July. Whoever doesn't get the 5th starter spot will probably be the long relief guy in the bullpen. Injuries 2B Hairston (mid May) Util McLemore (sometime in May) OF Cordova (who knows?) SP Daal (June) All in all, the only thing Im expecting is that the team will not finish in 4th place again (or 5 place either..). Im not silly enough to expect that a team relying on Pitching Staff with very little experience will be able to compete for the top of the division, but I do think they can at least finish 3rd with a winning record, which would be an improvement over the least 5 years.

    Gross

because little kids dont have fully developed immune systems.. I have to agree that this makes sense to a point.
  12. They should have just given him an honorary "Life" sentence since chances are he wont make it even 8 years...
  13. Perhaps I'm looking at this the wrong way, but ethically, don't you see something wrong with not only taking advantage of people in other countries' shitty status? Is there nothing wrong with the sweatshops that Nike runs? That's not with what this "new" wave of outourcing (with white-collar programming jobs among those supposedly being lost). For example, Hungarian computer programmers start at $4,800 a year; American programmers start at $60,000 yet in Hungary, that $4,800 would buy a comfy middle-class lifestyle. Maybe some of the laid off programmers here in the US should move to Hungary?
  14. Still down, and now the link on the page goes to another 404 page instead of an index..
  15. The Orioles Projected Starting Rotation Ponson RHP Dubose LHP Ainsworth RHP Riley LHP Bedard LHP SOUTHPAW-MANIA RUNNIN WILD BROTHER! Seriously, thats pretty crazy. The O's didn't have a Lefty two years ago in the rotation, last year they picked up Daal primarily because hes a lefty and this year they have 3 leftys in the rotation, which has to be a league high. Bedard could lose his spot to Rodrigo Lopez, but I doubt it. Lopez will probably be a long relief guy out of the bullpen unless Bedard shows he can't handle being the #5th starter. And with Daal hurt for an extended period of time, I think unless Riley flat out stinks he'll be in the rotation full time. When Daal comes back he'll probably go to the bullpen where he belongs in the first place. I don't know why Ainsworth isn't the #2 guy, as I favor him more than Dubose, but I think its to throw a Lefty in between 2 right handers.
  16. hmm.. theres a joke here somewhere.. They could set Kane on fire for the Olympic flame.. not the one you were expecting?
  17. It sucks that Hairston had to get hurt. If he hadn't got hurt, Im sure he would have been traded to Oakland by now since they lost Mark Ellis.
  18. The 15 yard penalty on a celebration in a blowout game wont matter. If the score is 35-0 in the 4th quarter and the team with 35 scores another TD, and say its a guys 5th TD, hes gonna celebrate irregardless of a 15 yard penalty or not. In that situation it is probably unsportsman like. I wanna know if this no celebration penalty will apply to defensive players who after they make a big play go nuts, dance, wiggle on the ground or whatever. It sounds like the rule is biased towards offensive players, but defensive players celebrate a whole lot more often over big plays and even something as minor as a tackle on 1rst down. Instant replay as it is is totally stupid. I would propose to change it so that there is a referee up in the booth who is sequestered from seeing any portion of the game. When a coach challenges, instead of having the referee who made the potentially bad call decide whether his call was bad or not, throw the call up to the sequestered ref who would only see the disputed call and the situation its in (what down it is, whats the time). You would get a much better unbiased call this way. Asking the referee who made the potentially bad call to go out to the middle of the field and basically say that he screwed up isn't the best way to ensure that the call was made correctly. And this will take no longer than having the ref trot over to the monitor and go about the process themselves. This is not the biased Ravens fan in me who saw Brian Billick get just about every challenge he threw a flag on get upheld. Some of them were the right calls, but I saw too many calls where it was totally obvious that the Ref didn't want to go out there and say he screwed up so we have some bogus "not enough indisputable evidence" even though they showed the same 18 different camera angles on TV that clearly showed the call should have been overturned.
  19. Who do I get to lose to next week? Thats what I'll be doing without Baron Davis.
  20. how are those terms family friendly related?
  21. Jezebel = Evil Bitch?
  22. I think this is the best way I've heard it put.. Robot Nation Blog on Job Out-Sourcing
  23. I cant wait til people start complaining because their jobs were replaced by robots. You think outsourcing to India is a problem? McDonalds was testing a robotic burger flipper 2 years ago that flipped and assembled hamburgers. McDonalds could easily automate/robotize 90% of each restaurant, cutting lots of jobs and saving lots of money in the long term, although right now its just not economically viable right now with the high upfront cost of the robots. But it will be in a few years, and at that time the only humans they'll probably hire to work at McDonalds are janitors and a manager to oversee the whole thing. Good Article on Robots
