Heel to Face, Face to Heel

And hitting Elizabeth (and giving Savage 3 DDT's) at Tuesday in Texas was the greatest 'heel act' sequel ever.

Heel to Face, Face to Heel

Roberts - i believe he got turned face by a Honky Tonk Man guitar shot prior to WM3. Orndorff - Just a guess, but after stuffing up at WM1, Piper and Orton bad mouthed him and he turned face in the process Valentine - no idea Muraco - I thought Superstar Billy Graham helped him find his confidence and became his spiritual advisor, even getting him to wear tie-dye clothes.

Eddie Guerrero is a grand slam champion...

If you wanted to be picky you could also include 1991, when he first won the KOTR tournament. Since it wasn't a televised event it might not be applicable.

    Future WWE plans

I dont think so. WWE believe Orton is there new Rock, so they will probably have him do some quickfire title changes with someone like Jericho (wishful thinking!) and then after Royal Rumble he's all about the Game.

    Future WWE plans

Rhyno/Tajiri vs La Res - probably the Heat match, which sucks, but is VERY WWE. And other reports are stating a 3-way for Edges IC title with Batista/Jericho. That, at least, has potential.

    Summer Slam 2004

So, the ironman match is done and, thanks to a retarded helping hand, Chris Benoit is still the champ. Randy Orton won a number contenders battle royal and will go for the gold at SummerSlam. On the other side of the coin, Vince McMahon fired Kurt Angle and re-instated him to the active roster and he will face Eddie Guererro, and the Undertaker will challenge for the WWE Title against JBL. But that's only 4 matches, so what else will happen at SS? Smart bets would be HHH vs Eugene, and La Resistance vs Tajiri/Rhyno. And an Edge IC title defense will happen as well, possibly as a 4-way involving Jericho, Batista and ???. Kane/Hardy Part 2 is a possibility, and the US title is vacant and a new champ should be crowned as well.

Eddie Guerrero is a grand slam champion...

I dont even want to know how many points HHH gets under this system. It's a good idea nonetheless.

Eddie Guerrero is a grand slam champion...

Actually, I want Orton to win at SS. Not because i'm any great fan of his, but i like the fact that it would go against the grain. Since it's inception the Raw title has gone HHH/HBK/HHH/Goldberg/HHH/Benoit, so the logical step is for HHH to win again. I like the fact they are moving away from that with Kane and now Randy Orton challenging for the belt, and if Orton wins then at least it's something different. Also, when he was IC champ Orton was getting more screen time than Benoit so I would assume the World Title would be more visible around his waist. Yes, he's in this position because he's HHH's boy, and it's leading to a HHH/RO match (likely at Mania 21), but at least the champ will be again be one of the main talking points on Raw each week.

Eddie Guerrero is a grand slam champion...

It was, but i believe Chris Jericho 'officially' changed it when he started pimping the Hardcore title to go along with it. And how did this thread go from a discussion about Eddie and the Grand Slam to another Chris Benoit love story? Benoit is currently The Champion on the only show that matters while Eddie Guerrero lost his title to a redneck stockbroker. That has more to do with the fact that HHH knew Benoit would pose no long term threat to his position than it does with Benoit being a great champion. Dont get me wrong, I like Benoit, and he is one of the best wretlers going around today, but i'm sick of every thread about WWE being turned into a Chris Benoit love-fest.

    Most Underrated Match Ever

I dont whether it's classed as underrated, but Jarret/Michaels from IYH July 95 was a brilliant match that you dont hear enough about. Probably Jarretts best match ever.

    Most Underrated Match Ever

Bret/Shawn from 92 is very underrated, as is the Bret/Bulldog match from December 95. This match gets none of the fanfare of their 92 match, but it's definately better in my opinion.

    Stuff that makes you confused...

There have been some weird things happen in pro wrestling, so what has made you do the most head scratching? For me, I've always been curious why: When a wrestler goes for a legdrop, and the opponent moves, why do they sell it like it hurts like hell? Aren't they landing in the exact same position as if they had hit the move??? When Shawn Michaels went for the title at WM12 it was because he had a 'boyhood dream'. So where was that dream one year earlier?

    WWE Match Reviews

The match - Shawn Michaels (with Sherri) vs Tito Santana The event - Wrestlemania 8 The lead up Several months prior to this night, Shawn Michaels had memorable turned on his longtime partner Marty Janetty. Since then he had been establishing himself in the WWF midcard as a cocky, arrogant heel. With the exception of his participation in the Royal Rumble, this would be his PPV debut as a singles wrestler. Tito, a multi-time tag and Inter-Continental champion, was a mainstay of the WWF midcard and was one of the better workers the company had in the late eighties/early nineties. There was no real program between the two, this match was basically just here to showcase the future HBK's talents in front of the biggest audience of the year. The match Tito out first, and he shows he's a gentleman by giving guest singer Reba McIntyre a helping hand. The original 'Sexy Boy' then hits and here comes Shawn/Sherri. Staredown as the ref gives instructions, and then Shawn talks some smack. The predictable shoving match occurs, and we have a quick start and early pinfall attempt by Tito off a bodypress. Tito starts the old-school weardown routine as he automatically locks on a side headlock. Shawn punches his way out, but Tito leapfrogs on the whip and clothelines Shawn over the top and to the floor. As Shawn stands on the apron, Tito grabs the headlock again and drags him back inside. Shoulderblocks in the corner by Shawn, but an Irish whip to the far corner is reversed, and Shawn suckers Tito into the corner. Another Irish whip, but this time Tito wont be fooled, and Shawn ends up back in the side headlock again. After a break, Tito rolls Shawn up with a small package for 2, and then he goes straight back to his friend the side headlock. Another break and Shawn throws Tito over the top. Back inside he hits a nice looking backbreaker for 2, and then he takes a leaf out of Tito's book and locks on a reverse chinlock. Elbows to the gut break the hold for Tito, but Shawn quickly hits the move that would eventually be know as 'Sweet Chin Music'. Seeing as that isn't his finisher at this point in time he doesnt make an effort to cover, and instead goes for his proper side-suplex finisher. Tito blocks and follows with an Irish whip and the lethal flying forearm, which sends Shawn all the way to the floor. Tito follows and rams Shawns head into the ring steps, before rolling him back in the ring. Tito hits a slingshot shoulderblock, some punches, a kneelift and an inverted atomic drop. With shawn groggy, Tito his finisher to the back of Shawns head, but it unfortunately sends Shawn outside again. With Shawn on the apron, Tito tries to bodyslam him back inside. Shawn holds the top rope, and eventually the drop to the ground, where Shawn hooks the leg and the ref counts 3, much to the disgust of Gorilla Monsoon. Bell-to-bell time of match 10.37. The wash-up This was the perfect start to a PPV - a match between a popular babyface and an up-and-coming heel. This also did a great job of putting Shawn over as a legitimate IC title threat, and in the following months he would help Bret Hart introduce the Ladder match to the WWF (house show) audience. Match rating - 7/10

    The New Team Angle

I dont mind a new Team Angle, as long as they are wrestlers who, you know, wrestle. I could do without a goon squad led by Kurt, so definately keep Heidenreich out of it. Haas i could handle because they have history and he is a great mat wrestler. Maybe a re-packaged Jamie Noble and a tag partner as well. As for Cena, well i cant (and dont want to) see him and Kurt on the same side, and if he is making a movie then they will probably be keeping him as a face until afetr it has it's run at the box office

    bret vs austin

It was easily the best one-on-one feud I've seen. Great wrestling, great mike work, a nice heel screw-job (royal rumble) and a perfectly executed double-turn (at and around WM13). Austin did a great job of building this up at a time when Bret wasn't even on TV, and then they followed up with some of the best matches in history. And thank god Shawn Michaels 'lost his smile' because otherwise we wouldnt have gotten the WM13 submission classic.

    The Old School questions thread

Watching WM8 the other day and a few questions popped up: Was Shane McMahon one of the 'officials' at ringside when Liz came down during the Flair/Savage match? The ending to the match between Money Inc/Natural Disasters - was this the only time a champion/s has been intentionally counted out in WWF/E PPV history? It seems like every time a heel attempts to walk out of a match the ref gives them the "count of ten" ultimatum to get back in the ring. This is the only exception i can think of.

    The Undertaker's managers

In storyline terms we are told they have known each other since UT was a kid, and Bearer had an affair with UT's mum which produced Kane. I'm not sure if any of their prior history was made clear when Bearer made his first appearance though.

    The Pictures in People's .sigs

Seeing as my Username/Sig/Avatar are probably on par with the most annoying thing in the world to Dids, i thought I'd add my 2 cents, just in case anybody cares (which you dont). 1) My User name (Australian Pride) - is a song by a local Brisbane musician who i have become friends with over the past 8 years since first seeing him play. It's a good song, and a personal favourite of mine. I will happily agree that the juggalosirowen name was just about the worst in history though, but i cant speak for him so i dont know why he has it. 2) My signature - is of a girl (shock, horror). Hey, i'm 27 and about to get married in October. My drunken, sleep with any girl who i can days are far behind me. My fiance is the only woman i plan on sleeping with for the remainder of my life, which means all i have left is to admire (from a distance) other females. I'm sorry if you have a problem with attractive women, but that's your problem, not mine. 3) My avatar - yep it sucks, no argument there. Seeing as i dont have a computer at home (damn home loan!) i only get the chance to post at work, and have very little time to go surfing for 'cool' shit to use. Millhouse was the first picture i came across that was even remotely decent for use as an avatar. So, having said all that, let the potshots begin...

Best of the Von Erichs DVD

I would have thought the big Kerry/Flair match would be on a DVD like this - is it not there because they dont own the rights? McMahon probably has it locked away in his archives.
