So is the spong tournament off? I was looking forward to that.

I wanted to take Stephen Strasburg, but I figured that was really pushing the limits of stashing a player on the bench.

Lakers tried to Game 4 that lead tonight. Too bad Kobe isn't human.

TSM Worst Poster Tournament 2009: Nominations

It's actually kind of hard to come up with that many names. I'll give justifications for each. EHME (I voted for him to come back because I thought he had learned his lesson. Guess not.) YKRG (Since I am convinced its TheDon anyways.) Roho (Posting way too much crap lately. No power rankings in February, please.) Marvin (I don't think he's really gone.) goldengreek (Hot Young Wang!) Matt Young (Solely for the Fantasy Baseball debacle... otherwise I like him) Cartman (Only because his Sox comments make him sound like a WEEI caller.) cabbageboy (Head trauma sports analysis.) -

I don't even know if what Kreese said is true. If it is, no one bothered to tell me. -
Doing an album-based tourney for the 70s could be fun. I know that wasn't really your suggestion, but I think that could be even more interesting than singles.

I got that impression, but: a) I didn't buy any mod position b) there is no wrestling position to fill I did finally get the Dustin Diamond dig, though. That was cute. -

I don't know what any of this is supposed to mean. -

You got me... for some reason people are nominating posters to fill a mod position that isn't even open. Also, EHME is being a tool, but that's par for the course in NHB. -
I'm tempted to say eight. Bonds was certainly better than Terry Pendleton in 1991. You could also make an argument for him winning in 2000, although Kent did have a very good year, especially for a 2B.

Do you have anything to offer the board at this point or should we all just continue to stand around and watch you drool on yourself? Besides, Screech is not, nor has it ever been funny. If you want to talk shit to me, come up with something creative. -

I like how you are all campaigning and voting for a position that isn't even open. Maybe when Venk gets back you can all push him down a flight of stairs. Also: This ain't no joke. Dandy, Venk and myself are just the latest in a long line of WWE folder flameouts. That job is not for the weak of heart. -

It was actually Mandalay Sports Entertainment which was a division of ME, but this is correct. Isn't it sad that Vince was able to buy WCW less than a year later for only $4m? Someone got some serious money under the table for that whole ordeal... You're comparing apples and oranges. Mandalay would have purchased the entire company, including talent contracts, television rights, the tape library and everything else that goes into running a wrestling promotion. Jamie Kellner killed that whole deal when he canceled WCW programming. Vince just scooped up the intellectual property and cherry-picked the few talents he wanted. He still got a hell of deal, but it's not really a comparable purchase.

The ending was fantastic.

Excellent choice. He was my second pick.

Real simple game: pick the first player to have season-ending Tommy John surgery. Player has to be on the major league roster as of opening day. One pick per poster. I'm going to lock up Justin Duchsherer.

Bragging about a second place finish in the AFC West is like getting chlamydia and celebrating because it's not syphilis.

I have about 30 pages left in Chuck Palahniuk's Survivor. The style of this book is nearly identical to Choke. Do all of his books sound exactly the same? I can imagine Choke, Fight Club and Survivor existing in the exact same world. Even the main characters seem similar. I really enjoy his writing style and the stories themselves are just mindless entertainment, but I can't see myself looking into any of his other books if they are just a rehash of "strange guy gets put in awkward situation before something outlandish and unexpected happens."

According to an article I just read, Kellerman and ESPN Radio have parted ways. http://simononsports.blogspot.com/2009/03/...st-got-lot.html

http://www.indystar.com/article/20090310/S...4/90310061/1088 The rest of the article is quite interesting. It looks as the though the Pacers are setting themselves up to bail on Indianapolis unless they get a sweetheart deal on a new lease. Kansas City is specifically mentioned as a potential destination. -

No, Ted Dibiase definitely wore the winged eagle belt after the Main Event, so it was in play before Mania IV.
