I should note that some of my reservations wrt the nomination of "I Kissed a Girl" have to do with it being an objectively terrible piece of shit song. I wouldn't care so much about kids' minds getting polluted with amoral trash if the trash wasn't also aesthetically bankrupt.
Yeah, Pacific Ocean Blue is incredible. You should check it out regardless of how you feel about the Beach Boys. It's got more in common with, like, Plastic Ono Band and On the Beach than it does with Pet Sounds.
Travel Channel has actually gotten better over the last couple years. This is due entirely to the fact that they added the best show on TV (Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations) to their line-up.
YouTube has pretty much made "Music Television" irrelevant and the music video "art form" has been in pretty steep decline for the last 5+ years, so I really don't understand why people still bitch about MTV not showing videos anymore. And those trashy reality shows are great.
Oh and Bravo really deserves a mention in this thread. 12 hours straight of Real Housewives of Orange County? Come on. You're better than that, Bravo.
Wayne isn't high profile enough to suffer an embarrassing public flame-out. It's far more likely that he'll just be found dead in the studio one morning with an empty styrofoam cup clutched in his hand.
