  1. Jericho is ruling it here. Just turn him full blown heel
  2. Fuji General!! Heidenreich raping Cole!
  3. All of the 5 major singles titles are held by faces now. I don't think that's ever happened before. With them marketing more to children now this may be them heading back to face dominated booking like in the 80s/early90s
  4. Austin has stated several times that he did not want to turn heel in the first place and even contemplated doing a shoot (well changing an angle on the fly) at the end of the match and stunnering Vince. Also a funny side note. Sometime in the fall of 01 when receiving his first merchandise sales check since turning heel he was shocked by how low it was and went right to Vince and demanded to be turned back babyface. Vince, a huge Austin supporter at the time, agreed and the whole Invasion angle was dropped.

"The Rapture" is indeed awesome It's a great flick and not just because of Mimi Roger's incredible rack and her getting it on with another chick in a 3 way scene with David Duchovny. Just a tremendous portrait of a woman slowly going insane due to her losing all faith in God, humanity and life in general Unfortunately the movie was promoted as a Skinamax flick with Mimi Rogers showing her goods and doing lesbian stuff. It's *so* much more than that.
  6. That was great suprise booking. Typical WWE booking has the young up and coming face overcome the odds and then BAM! a heel wins clean via submission out of nowhere. That was very mid 80s NWA booking there
  7. KING REGAL!!!
  8. Mickie looked like she was about to crack up during her promo. I think maria flubbed one of her lines and Mickie almost lost it
  9. When did JC Romero become unhittable? Seriously he couldn't get anyone out in the AL and now he's Willie Hernandez circa 1984 in the NL
  10. I have an unexplainable love for KOTR 98. I used to watch it all the time on tape during freshman year of college (well during summer break going into Sophomore year). There's nothing on the show that's great and it's not even because of HIAC. I think it was just that I was so into wrestling again for the first time in nearly a decade (not that I didn't watch during the down years because I obviously did) that it was like reuniting with an old friend. I remember the next day I was online for an eternity reading reactions from the show (this was pre-Meltzer on the net don't forget) and being psyched for the Austin-Kane rematch on RAW. The net was just crazy then
  11. Tom Glavine is headed to the DL for the first time in his 22 year career
  12. Yeah Wagner's been great. Maybe pitching from the wind up has helped I don't know what to think of Heilman though. I think he may be tipping his pitches or the opposition has figured out his tendencies because the Phillies are *absolutely" sitting on his change up. Dobbs was just waiting for that pitch to come done when he hit that 3 run bomb in the 8th.
  13. H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T a Grapes of Wrath parody, a Close Encounters parody, and a fucking ON DEADLY GROUND parody in the same episode. Awesome on all levels
  14. Pretty good show. I agree they should have just used Demi in the cougar sketch instead of the throwaway cameo in the monologue That was the worst DS since they started doing them.
  15. You know things are getting bad when Gary Cohen (who is a fair, balanced announcer who isn't much for hyperbole) is comparing Shea stadium crowds to the ones in the early 60s Well when you have 22 baserunners in 9 innings and score only 7 runs and hit into 5 double plays it's hard to "cheer"
  16. Even though he's approaching 90, Ralph Kiner is still better than anyone in the field when it comes to analyzing hitting. Very analytical, logical approach about looking for a pitch to hit and trying to figure out the pitcher's tendencies. He's just terrific as opposed to the usual talking heads He (rightfully) has been made fun of the past 50 years for butchering the English language during broadcasts and from a pure technical standpoint he was never really a good broadcaster but the guy could always talk hitting
  17. Sandler's worst movie BY FAR is Mr. Deeds. Little Nicky wasn't that great but there were some real funny parts and the ending is so absurd and random that I can't ever hate it. 8 Crazy Nights was just a longer/much cleaner version of a sketch on his "Stan and Judy's Kid" album. I don't even really count it as one of his films as it was just him and his buddies messing around trying to cash in on the holidays. Anger Management is not great but there are some moments that keep it in the "watchable" category. Mr Deeds on the other hand has no redeeming qualities. It's just awful on every level with Sandler trying to be cute and warm instead of being funny. When the movie ended I tried to rationalize it by thinking of of a few scenes that were kind of funny but I couldn't. Haven't see Click though. Billy Madison remains by favorite Sandler movie all time. I don't care what anyone says that movie is just fucking funny
  18. I don't know where this Shawn/Batista feud is going but they better watch out or the fans will start to see Shawn as pathetic. I think the idea is that we're supposed to feel sorry for him because he had to beat his idol but it could turn into him getting heel heat. At least it's a fresh program and Batista finally has an actual storyline other than getting random title shot after title shot.
  19. 411: I can't believe Kozlov got called up to the main roster. He's awful (yeah I know since when does that matter) I mean he's *really* bad (saw him at a house show back in 06) Hopefully that match was dark
  20. Pedro Martinez is already hurt. He leaves the game in the 4th with an apparent hamstring or groin injury. I doubt he'll be back by the All Star break. Looks serious as he could barely walk
  21. Hey now the Giants are being shut out. This team could seriously break the all time record for fewest runs scored in a season. Please never retire Brian Sabean. Never.
  22. Oh man I remember that Mets opener in 98 against the Phils. They were ravaged by injuries and sent out an absolute shit Dusty Baker 2006 Cub like line up and got shutout for like 15 innings before winning 1-0 on a walk off hit by light hitting Alberto Castillo. Thank God they got Piazza a month later as that team was tough to watch.
  23. Federation Years: I'm going to against the grain and say 6. I could never really hate 4 or 5 because they define my childhood as a wrestling fan and I will never forget them. 9 is bad but it has atmosphere and as a mark I actually dug the suprise ending (even though I hated Hogan)There's a hint of bias here as I had stopped watching wrestling regularly in late 89 so I didn't see a lot of the build for the show. I only saw Royal Rumble 90 on tape months afterwards. It's just a one match show and the first signs of the end of the boom as crowds had become less and less vocal for the the midcard wrestlers and were only really popping for Hogan and Warrior. 1990 was just such a lackluster year for the company overall. When I would tune in on the rare occasion I was not impressed with the main feuds and the pushes of Earthquake, Tugboat, Bravo, etc were irritating. Flair coming in and the Roberts/Savage program hooked me back in in 91 though. Attitude: 15. Nothing really needs to be said. Russo at his worst. The build for this show(other than the Road Dog/Billy Gun switch nonsense) was suprisingly solid(by Russo standards) and I was actually looking forward to the show. A dead crowd and listless wrestling ruined it for me. Current: This is tough but I will say XX. I like the show but it could have a had a more historic/nostalgic feel to it
  24. Don't forget Bateman. Plus Robert Loggia and Hector Elizondo rule it. I love that God Damn movie.
