  1. Watching Auburn/USF, I have to say that Dan Fouts is suprisingly solid as a play by play guy. His delivery is awkward and he makes the usually mistakes but he does fine for himself for someone with as little experience. I'd take him over Mike Patrick for sure
  2. Stephanie desperately trying to keep a straight face during that segment was pretty funny. The skits with Kennedy and Vince would have been awesome
  3. Joe Morgan sure loves himself some Angels baseball. They "play the game the right way" you know. Not like those evil Oakland A's
  4. HTQ,can you make anything of the "Things are looking up" clue as to who's the son?
  5. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet.. Meltzer:
  6. Thank God the Mets only have 3 more games with the Phillies and after the weekend 3 with the Braves. The September schedule may save this team with games with Nats, Marlins, Astros, Reds.
  7. How could Chicago ever hate this man?
  8. I don't know if Bruiser or Czech want to hear this but Tom Verducci of SI was on Mike and the Mad Dog today and said the Cubs would make it to the World Series.
  9. I've never gotten this board's irrational hatred for Owen Wilson. Whatever.
  10. Nick Hogan was just in a real bad car accident according to Alvarez and Rajah
  11. DQ in Batista/Khali Looks like a definite title change in Orton/Cena
  12. Apparently Wickman was released because he refused to pitch in a game where the Braves were up 4 runs and thus could not earn a save. It was basically a clubhouse decision to get rid of him after that point
  13. And wouldn't you know it that there were grumblings after tonight's gave that Heilman is having elbow troubles
  14. Point taken Cheech, it just seems like hitters are sitting on his change up and that he has trouble putting him away
  15. Watching Aaron Heilman pitch is an exercise in frustration. His peripherals aren't bad (although his K's are down) but to see him get ahead of hitters 0-2 constantly and then nibble and inevitably it's a 3-2 count. Hitters are sitting on his change up which probably shows the league has figured him out after his shockingly good 05/06 seasons With Adrian Gonzalez tonight, he (suprise) gets ahead 0-2 and then tries to paint the corners and it's 3-2 and then he grooves one. As I said last week I hope they explore trading him in the offseason.
  16. So Dunn is against them acting "too Southern' or against the idea of breaking them up?
  17. Kennedy has very slowly been losing his heat since coming back from injury. This illegitimate son angle will either make or break his career
  18. Mets acquire Jeff Conine from the Reds for 2 minor leaguers
  19. And it will all be for nothing when he blows a couple games in the playoffs. Like he always does. Oh God please, let's not start this again. It was bad enough last October and took away from the usually enjoyable playoff threads
  20. Jim Hendry, sorry. Watching tonight's game may have melted my brain a bit.
  21. I really hope the Mets look into trading Heilman in the off season. They've seen his best. His reached his full potential. Get on the phone with Ted Hendry Omar
  22. Guillermo Mota *Has* to go. No more fucking around. He is complete garbage. Worst loss of the season. And you would think Heilman or Peterson would realize that hitters are sitting on his change ups and make some adjustments. It's not 2005 anymore where he was fooling hitters
