  1. I had 10 of the Sweet 16 right, but the six I had wrong were all in different parts of the brackets so I only got two of the eight match-ups correct.
  2. Having the belts exclusively on ECW/Smackdown wouldn't be a bad idea. Now that the cruiserweight title is gone, Raw can have the Women's division to itself (move Victoria back over, for the love of God) and Smackdown can have the Tag Team division. Plus, it seems like majority of newcomers start on Smackdown, so this would be a good place for new tag teams to begin. I like it.
  3. Just a comment about Remember the Titans.. Whenever my friends claim that I'm a racist (I make a lot of racist comments but truly am not one), I bring up the fact, and it's true, that I tear up every single time I watch the scene where Some heavy shit, right there.
  4. WWE's tag team division hasn't been anything special since the turn of the century when there were teams like The Hardys, Edge and Christian, The Dudleys, The APA, etc. Nowadays, I can hardly even remember who the tag team champions are. There are obviously many reasons for this, one of them being the lack of real tag teams. The four above mentioned teams came into the company as just that, teams. They dressed alike, acted alike, and gave the impression that they were there to be the best damn tag team in the business. Let's look at the tag teams of today: Cade and Murdoch - The best example of a real tag team that the WWE has to offer. London and Kendrick - The best technical, high flying team today..yet for some reason no longer together. Holly and Rhodes - The World tag team champions? I actually had to check to see if they still were. Cody is failing to get over with the fans and Hardcore Holly is 8 years past anybody caring about him. A tag team that was created after a 3-week bathroom break feud. The Highlanders - The jobber team on Raw. Haven't been entertaining since, well..their in-ring debut. Dreamer and Delaney - Another team made up of two guys not doing anything. I'm enjoying the Colin storyline though, and it's on ECW..so whatever. Miz and Morrison - The WWE tag team champs. Very entertaining on the microphone and better than average in the ring (Morrison, atleast). Even though they were put together randomly after a feud, I feel like they fit together well enough that nobody remembers that. Jesse and Festus - A good comedy act, and a real tag team by my definition. Deuce and Domino - A terrible, annoying team that is only ever used in handicap matches against Batista or to job to another team. Wouldn't mind seeing them gone. Yang and Moore - An interesting team with an interesting moveset. Enjoyable to watch (Yang especially). Probably only put together because they are cruiserweights. Hawkins and Ryder - Debuted as a tag team but now are Edge's lackies. Haven't had a tag team match in months, to my knowledge. So basically, we have Cade and Murdoch, Jesse and Festus, Miz and Morrison, Yang and Moore, and the now split-up London and Kendrick as legit, entertaining tag teams. I really think that the WWE needs to start making the tag team titles mean something and look for a few new teams (developmental teams, not random matches of current superstars) to spice up the division. I enjoyed Cade and Murdoch vs. The Hardys from last year a lot but since then the Raw tag team division has been completely forgettable. The Smackdown division has been much more entertaining, but still lackluster. What do you think needs to be done in order to put value back into the tag team championships? I still think that there should only be one tag team title and that it should float between brands. This would allow for a lot more matches and excuses for moving mid-card wrestlers to other brands without having to be drafted. i.e., if London and Kendrick defended the championship against Miz and Morrison on Smackdown and lost, they would become Smackdown superstars. Miz and Morrison would then be able to defend against both Jesse and Festus on Smackdown and Holly/Rhodes on Raw. Inter-brand tag teams could also be made this way, though again, I'd rather the WWE bring in tag teams rather then make them from current singles guys. Thoughts?
  5. Although I think Kane deserves an extended run with a World title, I don't see him lasting very long as ECW champion if he wins it on Sunday. As much as I like Kane, he isn't going to bring in viewers and having a veteran win the title out of nowhere doesn't really do much to spice up the brand. I'd have him defend it against Chavo and Punk in a triple threat at Backlash, with Punk pinning Chavo and getting the belt. Then I'd have Punk fued with Shelton until Umaga goes over to ECW and we get the Punk vs Umaga match that I've been wanting for a while. That being said, I see Chavo holding it until GAB and defending against Punk at every PPV until then.
  6. I think it's very important for a wrestler to have atleast one memorable WM moment/match in their career if they want to be a huge superstar. A good match at Wrestlemania can be as influential to a superstar's career as a great one at Summerslam. I also think it's ridiculous when big names are left off of the Wrestlemania card (see Kane this year, if he doesnt win the battle royal). 1. What wrestler has had the most memorable Mania matches for you? The Rock, HBK 2. Has anyone been "made" from a Wrestlemania match? If so, whom? I think Edge's match with Foley at WM22 pushed him to where he is now. I know that for me, it really solidified him as a major player in the WWE and since then, he's become one of my favorite heels this decade. 3. What match do you think of first when you think of a big Mania match? Rock/Hogan 4. How important is a memorable entrance for a match at Mania? How much does that add to the feel of the match? I think memorable entrances are always a plus, but not necessary. They definitely can add to the atmosphere of the match. 5. Who has had the best Mania entrance that has added to the feel of the match? Undertaker at Wrestlemania XX. I also liked JBL's escorted entrance at WM 21.
  7. Hopefully not, though, because there seems to be hope of him not being edited out of history anymore. He should be edited out of history. No. However, I'd love to hear what explanation you come up with to justify this. There is still the potential for people to get up in arms about the WWE trying to profit on the likeness of a guy who killed his wife and child. Which is why they won't be making another Best of Benoit DVD. However, it is stupid to pretend he wasn't a part of the careers of other wrestlers that were around while he was alive.
  8. The Holocaust never happened either.
  9. Federation Era: Wasn't watching yet. III is the only one I've seen. Attitude Era: X-7, obviously. Current Era: 21
  10. I wouldn't say that..they've tried to make Khali and Snitsky look like contenders this week too. I think they're just pushing the whole idea that anyone can win it.
  11. If anyone wants to see the whole Top 25 list made by ESPN, you can find it here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/espn25/stor...estmoviesresult I love Jerry Maguire, but I never really considered it to be a sports movie. Searching for Bobby Fischer is on the list too, which begs the question What defines a sport? Would anyone consider Bobby Fischer to be a sports movie but Rounders not?
  12. While I was rummaging through the 2 for $10 DVD bin at Walmart yesterday, I came across the movie Hoosiers, and on the front it said something along the lines of "The best sports movie of all time." I haven't seen Hoosiers (I know I should), so you guys tell me..is it really the best sports movie ever? I believe ESPN actually rated it as their #1 sports movie on a countdown a few years back (checking now, yes they did). I wouldn't say I've seen a ton of sports movies, but I'd have to say my favorite by far is Remember the Titans (in fact, it's one of my favorite movies of any kind, ever). Rudy is another favorite, of course, and who doesn't love Angels in the Outfield? I also really liked Field of Dreams and Coach Carter.. So, opinions? What are the best sports movies of all time? I apologize if this thread has been made in the past, but I don't remember seeing it.
  13. Did you hear MVP's reaction (or lack thereof) on Raw? It's sad, but majority of fans don't seem to care about him these days. Him ending Taker's streak to end the show would be catastrophic. However, if I were running things, I'd have MVP win the briefcase and then lose it to Jeff down the line.
  14. I've felt for a while now that this Wrestlemania is going to have almost all face winners. If Jeff was still in MITB, this would be even more apparent. My predictions are: Triple H Undertaker Mayweather Flair (I like the idea of him retiring by his own decision) CM Punk Batista Finlay Ashley/Maria Kane, Chavo
  15. If she wasn't in TNA, Gail Kim.
  16. I found my answer..
  17. The caption under the picture of Orton tapping to Flair on wwe.com is "Orton hears a Wooooo!". Cute.
  18. Oh, right. I'll have to think then.
  19. I don't know... I thought in the 1st few years of the title excistence it was a very good lower-midcard title. Similar to WCW's TV Title... There were some very good feuds over the title... The X-Pac/D-Lo Brown feud was awesome, as was HHH/Owen, X-Pac/Shane McMahon, and D-Lo/Venis... But after Shane McMahon retired the belt, and Mideon came back with it, it just wasn't the same, Greatest gimmick of the Euro title was Al Snow, when he came to the ring each week dressed from a different European country. Greece was the best, as he dressed up like a character from the movie and not the country. http://youtube.com/watch?v=t1HXZoiAzbk
  20. cookie plz
  21. I called Finlay and Batista.
  22. I missed it..when is this match? Tomorrow on ECW With all the guys in the battle royal I assume?
  23. I missed it..when is this match?
