Heh... Yes, the Tea Baggers are starting to own people now... Much happiness... And I guess my rookie season is just not the season for anything resembling consistency. Already thinking about what I'll be working on in Spring Training... Warning track power still owns you. And again with the middle of the lineup against both paws. I don't know, but it almost seems like I hit better from the leadoff spot. I'm not going to force any lineup changes just yet though. We'll see what we can do in the offseason, and maybe we'll just grow into the role.

Let's see... Charlie Nagy, Jaret Wright, Albert Belle, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Sandy Alomar Jr... Basically the whole of the non WS-winning '97 Indians team. Though Jose Mesa might've been on the Marlin's payroll for Game 7. But no, I'm not bitter.

(Blinks in shock at the release of Gonzales) Uhm... Wow, that's kinda wild. What's up with that, 'Drea? (Then blinks at Kostka's injury) ... Hmm... Wonder what this means for the Freedom. ( at my month) Oooooh... There we go. A possible post All-Star Game breakout? Whatever the case, a general overall improvement is a good thing. Yes! More doubles! Not too far off from pacing the East-West record... And I'm back to leading off against lefties... Is it the walks? The hits? The steals? Or are they just that desperate???

Ahh... Understandable. I'll stay in Boston until they trade me, or completely implode and make it obvious they're not in contention for a long, long time.

Smarkdown Predictions
Vasarian_Brandy replied to Angel_Grace_Blue's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Fury's Flurry Of Predilections! MAIN EVENT CAPTAIN FALL TAG MATCH Revolution Zero (Toxxic © and "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins) and "The Icon" Max King v. Andrea Montgomery © and Hollywood Boulevard (Mike Van Siclen and "Urban Legend" Todd Cortez) - Heels are bad. Plus I'm planning on punking Davis earlier in the night, so... Might as well give Rev-0 the 0-fer on the night. USJL TITLE MATCH David Cross© v. Danny Dagda - Really too close to call, but if IL doesn't write, I'll reach through my broadband and strangulate him. Really. What more motivation does he need? CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Ryan Dustin © v. Austin Sly - Too close to call as well, but I think if anyone can retain a strap tonight, it can be Dustin. SINGLES MATCH Landon "La Cucaracha" Maddix v. Stryke - People who lose titles usually come back and destroy their next opposition. Unless you've lost the World Championship, where you either retire or disappear mysteriously. HARDCORE TITLE MATCH Sean Davis © v. Christian Fury - ... You're kidding me, right? USJL TITLE #1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH Uncle Filthy v. Evan Wolfe - Another too close one... Filthy impressed, but I get a 'good feeling' from Evan. NEW GUY MATCH "Blind" Ryan Klein v. Carnage - I'm thinking that some knowledge of the sport will win out over pure psychosis anyday. I think Ry knows what he's doing. -
Uhm... There's a way to solve this to benefit both of us. COME TO BOSTON! THE POWER OF THE TEA BAGGING COMPELS YOU!!!

Meh. Whatever floats your boat. Or your dingy... Or yacht.

... I'm gonna start calling the guy "Name Withheld" now.

Total Days Holding an SWF Title

... And I'll repeat Tom's statement and say: He is catching on!!! -
I have but one thing to say...

Ruleage on being an inspiration for an idea! (Y)~! But here's my question: Look at the folks I quoted. How could Ann, who you listed in the second-place ranking, be second when she's 11 games over .500, with a lower ERA, higher strikeout total, and lower walks allowed than the first place folk?

Well... Knew my first injury was going to happen soon. Just glad it happened as early as it did. Only a week, too... Not shabby. Nice to see my offensive production tailing off close to the mid-year mark. Rgh. I'm supposed to be relatively consistent! But, I guess that could mean consistently slumping, too... :| Cool beans about the possible run at the doubles record for TSM players... Warning track power has its uses after all! And they're finally giving me full-time in the heart of the lineup. This may help things along... Though... Maybe the pressure's getting to me... :|

Let's see if I can coherently respond to all of this, shall I? Oh I think so. And don't take it personal. I like critiques of my work. I also like to respond. 1) First person = My 'new' style. Ask any old-timer of the Fed. They'll tell you. 2) If I remember right, Cross has a vitality of 6 or 7. "Brief bouts of no-selling" I believe is part of the description. 3) Anyone can catch anything if their hands are placed right. Even I could catch a bullet in my hand... Even though it'd kinda go through my hand in the process. 4) "What's with all the nutshots, eh?" Hardcore match. Plus it's a Danny Dagda signature maneuver. And they worked, didn't they??? 5) I was shooting for an Asai Moonsault, something that was in my arsenal way back when. But I don't think I wrote it right. Who cares. It PUT SOMEONE THROUGH A TABLE, for Pete's sake!!! 6) It was under 4500 words. Admittedly the intro portion ran long, but... It was also a hardcore match, so there wasn't the typical wrestling madness in normal matches. Plus the stip... Make them bleed. Don't need to do much classical wrestling to do that. But thank you for the comments.

Now that is what's called an excellent rookie start! And that's only in the 1st month? Wow... I'll definitely take that!
-
Fifth and first in the lineup? That's kinda bizarre. I've heard of being taken out of the lineup dependant on the handedness of the opposing pitcher, but... Playing power ball against righties, and then playing to get on-base against lefties? So weird.

Oh. Ruleage. (Moshes out)

So now that he's lost a third of the maximum overness allowed, if I get in a backstage fight with him, will I lose overness too?

SWF Lockdown Card September 29
Vasarian_Brandy replied to Thoth's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Huzzah! But actually, I think it was called the Compaq Center for a bit... But now, it's the HP Pavilion, AKA "The Shark Tank". Pays to be an hour from San Jose, too. -

Uhm... I just realized something... The Compaq Center's in Houston, Texas. Could you have possibly meant "The HP Pavillion" in San Jose, California? -
D'OH! It's always New York throwing a wrench in Boston's plans... Even in fake baseball! Ah well... Still looks like I have a chance to do something though. I like my chances thusfar.

Well then, guess that's my fault then. I did send a PM trying to let you know that I was running a touch late with my promo, but that was at 5:02. (Shrugs) Sorry. (Trundles off to bed after a 12-1/2 hour shift)
-
Uhm... I had a promo sent in. (Blinks)

"On The Road Again"
Vasarian_Brandy replied to Vasarian_Brandy's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Meh. Mayhaps I'll just slip them on and commence to kicking yer ass! ... Or not. -
The plane ride has, to this point, been uneventful. As I look out the window, finding we’re passing over the Heartland of America, I realize that my ‘return’ to the SWF has been exactly that: Uneventful. And it pleases me to no end. Smarkdown came and went back home in Cleveland. The final show leading up to the ultimate in pay-per-views, Genesis V, didn’t feature me in any impromptu match. No run-ins, no backstage scuffles. Not even an interview. Yeah, I hid out the whole show. Call it a scouting trip… I wasn’t expecting to be called out. I wasn’t expecting to be pushed into action. And though the Suicide King gave me a bit of a fright, telling me earlier in the day that I’d best be ready for an important announcement, and hearing him add to his tag team with Tom Flesher… The announcement still rings clearly in my mind: "So put your hands together and give a warm SWF welcome to CHRIS…" “…RAYNOR!” I felt an immense amount of relief at that, though part of me wouldn’t have minded coming back out of retirement for the biggest PPV of the year. Though the thought of having to fight Mark Stevens, Landon Maddix, and the one that wound up being Team Face’s ace in the hole, Edwin MacPhisto… Two of them legends, the other one a young talent that’s been sight unseen in the SWF for… Probably a long while. And the two legends part of… Well… Part of a team that I still hold quite in high esteem. I’m glad I wasn’t the Chris that had to face them. As it was, after Smarkdown, I planned on a trip to Pasadena, to the Rose Bowl, to take in the spectacle of Genesis V. But I heard through some friends of mine that not one, but two folks could be wrestling in their final matches. One of those being “The Superior One” Tom Flesher. People in the know were already talking about his impending retirement, saying it could happen as soon as Genesis. Now I’m not one to be friendly to the heels of the business. But I knew Flesher. Not well, but I knew of him. His career, his drive, his ambition. Hell… I had the same drive and ambition early in my career. I didn’t like the guy, but I respected him as a fellow wrestler. And I wasn’t going to be one to cut in on his time, if he was indeed calling it quits. So, I wound up staying in Cleveland, and watching the whole spectacle unfold on live digital satellite feed to big-screen plasma television at a local sports bar. I’m glad I didn’t make the trip. Not only was Genesis full of amazing appearances from seemingly long-lost legends as it was, but Tom did indeed retire. Right after his team’s hard-fought battle with Stevens’ crew. It was the most classy, yet simple retirement I’d seen. The tradition of leaving your boots in the ring… His fellow wrestlers respected him for it. The fans, who had given him no loss of heat and Hell in the past, saw it for what it was… They gave him a standing ovation, seeing him not as one of the most undeniable villains the Fed ever saw, but one of the most dedicated and unrelenting talents they’d ever seen. And my respect for him grew tenfold. The rest of Genesis was no less amazing, and full of twists and turns. So much so, I almost considered not making the trip to Anaheim for the next show, knowing that Genesis would still be on the minds and thoughts of the fans and everyone else. But, out of ‘consideration’ to the Commish (who didn’t bring me back in to hide out from the limelight, and probably would have no problems putting me out of the business at a whim), I figured I’d make the trip to at least show my support for the Fed and all that. I look out the window again. Not a lot of time has passed, but the view of the fields below is now partially obscured by rolling cloud cover. Yes, the plane ride has been uneventful. No autograph seekers. No special recognition as I’d gotten on more than one occasion in years past. Just the peace, quiet, and serenity of being relatively unknown. No different from everyone else. It’s like I’m starting all over again. And I’ll enjoy it while I can.
