  1. Didn't see that coming.
  2. Only been to one. Yankees home opener when Jeter hit the game winning 3 run homer in the 8th. I'm heading to Boston on Friday and I'm going to atleast 2 of the Yanks/Sox games. edit: Also went to a Double A Trenton Thunder vs Portland Seadog game. I left early but I heard it ended up being the longest game in the history of the Seadogs I think.

Why does Chone Figgins turn into freaking Ted Williams when he faces the Yankees?

Whats the record for most starts by a pitcher in a season without going more than 6 innings? I'm happy with how Wright is pitching latley, i'm just wondering if hes closing in on some wacky record or something.
  5. So just because we got to see what happened when Thorton wasn't on the Sharks, but didn't get to see what would have happened if Jagr wasn't on the Rangers, Thorton should get MVP? edit: The Rangers D consisted of Marek Malik and Rosival as the top pairing. COME ON.
  6. Thorton also had PATRICK MARLEAU, a pretty damn great player who had 90+ points on the 2nd line for D guys to worry about, while Jagr had Steve Rucchin, Prucha (who Jagr basically made), and Petr Sykora (who again Jagr was basically responsible for) edit: DID ANYBODY WATCH THE PLAYOFFS!?!? The Rangers couldn't do SHIT on offesnse without Jagr. The Panthers had Lungo standing on his head the entire year and didn't make the playoffs. The Rangers I guarantee are DEAD last without Jagr.
  7. I beg your pardon? A guy who'd probably be a second or third line centre elsewhere won the Richard, thanks to the playmaking of the Ross winner. The Sharks were well under .500 at the same time. They made the playoffs. That's MVP worthy. I don't have a problem with Jagr getting the Pearson, however. And Jagr was basically responsible for the career years of Nylander and Straka, and had a HUGE impact on Prucha's emergence. Nylander and Straka couldn't finish for shit, put an real goal scorer on his line that can actually finish and he would have had 150+ points.
  8. But really, Jagr was the MVP. And I realize the playoffs aren't counted, but anybody who sawv the rangers in the playoffs could tell the Rangers were the worst team in the league without him.
  9. Bullshit that Jagr didn't win the Hart trophy. Ridiculous.

Pettitte didn't "ditch" the yankees, the yankees lowballed him.
  12. Landon Donovan is the equivalent of a european hockey player in the NHL whos too scared to go to the net, and be physical, while being soft and is always afraid to shoot the puck. On the otherhand, that Dempsey guy was fucking awesome in all three games.
  13. What the fuck is it with "make up calls"? Alright, the ref MIGHT have made a mistake, but its ridiculous to "make up" that "supposed" mistake by making ANOTHER bad call, that hurts the U.S, when they really did nothing wrong.
  14. It was only a penalty shot because it was a penalty in the box. Still a bullshit call.

Buwawawawa and the Mets lose. I don't know about you Met fans, but I'd be absolutley terrified with Wagner on the mound in the playoffs.

Torre doesn't trust the rest of the Yankee bullpen to get 3 outs before giving up 5 runs, so Rivera is in the game with a FIVE RUN LEAD.

I Think Torre has finally realized hes going to suck after 5 innings, and with the meat of the order coming up there was no point in keeping him in.

And who knows if Dotel is gonna be effective when he comes back. Look what happened to Karsay after his TJ surgery.

Are the White Sox really winning 20 - 2 in the 7th inning? Or has ESPN scoreboard gone to hell?

Playoffs too, Rhodes gave up the 3 run HRer to David Justice in game 6 of the 2000 ALCS if I remember correctly. EDIT: FUCK FUCK WALK HIM WALK HIM WALK HIM. edit: Phew.

Has there ever been a reliever so bad against one team in his career, no matter the year, or who hes facing, than Arthurd Rhodes against the Yankees?

Obviously the Yankees haven't learned to NOT FUCKING PITCH TO RYAN HOWARD.
  24. Plus Lundqvist, and DiPietro is still really young.

I'm guarenteeing an El Duque either injury or starts a terrible run of starts after his 120 pitch outing tonight. Torre left him in for 120+ pitches in a meaningless September game against the Blue Jays in 04 that took him out until game 4 against the Sox that October.
