  1. Week 10 - August/15th/2006: Ladder Match - Sabu .VS. Rob Van Dam. That match was terrible. That thing belongs on a Worst of ECW show.
  2. What may have affected the Cornette deal is that Cornette was originally going to leave ROH before Gabe proposed the angle where would become the commissioner and eventually turn heel. It's possible that Cornette, who would have had some say in the angle as it is, wanted to do it that way and Gabe agreed so as to keep things smooth. The Authority Figure vs. Wrestler storyline is played out, though, no matter who is in it. It's like copying Montreal.
  3. Can they even find an hours worth of stuff that could fit the bill?
  4. If JBL had a problem with Tully, he should have taken him somewhere private to have a go at him. Going off on Tully in public was unprofessional.
  5. Russo got the book because they're panicking and in their eyes Russo was the way to go. They think he'll help do for TNA what he helped to do in the WWF in 1998/9. Unfortunately, they've ignored history, because Russo has failed at every attempt at booking/writing since he left the WWF.
  6. --Stephan Bonnar received a nine month suspension and $5,000 fine for his steroid test violation as handed down yesterday by the Nevada State Athletic Commission
  7. The rating was a .8, which is slightly up from last week, but barely.
  8. "Test-lite"? He can do a Moonsault and a Van-Hoytinator! Test Mk II, then.
  9. If the James Gang really did quit TNA, as we're meant to believe, why would TNA let the segment air? Realistically, if the James Gang really did quit TNA, the segment would have been cut out.
  10. New Kurt Angle merchandise: Kurt Angle Merchandise
  11. And Tracy wound up being such a great pick she couldn't get Roode on the PPV.
  12. Some bad news over the Marufuji vs. KENTA match. The latest Observer says the crowd was 11,500 but the paid was only 7,000.
  13. Tully Blanchard is already gone. According to the latest Observer, there was a big scene at one of the recent tapings when JBL went off on Tully, cutting a promo on him about how Tully treated him in Texas when he (JBL) had just broken into wrestling.
  14. A desperate quest for ratings. Though, you probably worked that one out yourself.
  15. I have no beef with them not publicising the event - you never know ow it's going to be run and in publicising it you'd be linking yourself with it. Besides they've given Vickie a job, still sell the Eddy memorial shirts which she'll be getting a good cut of, and there is probably a DVD set in the works that will pay her well as well. Because that makes it all right, doesn't it? I don't know what people expect from VKM and the wwe - this isn't the Owen Hart situation here, Eddy died from natural causes due to his past addictions. You have a strange definition of 'natural causes'.
  16. He got a rep for being lazy and coasting and wound up vanishing from TNA ages ago. That was a major problem of the writing at the time. They tried to do so much at once that none of it got over. It's a problem that those people, and others in wrestling, have all the time, especially when they panic.
  17. -I just don't get Robert Roode. What's his gimmick? Is it that he's just kickass or something? And why did they build up his manager search for so long just to give him the generic WWE bimbo as a valet? His gimmick appears to be that he's going to be the next top star. As for his manager tease, which was botched up terribly, I have no idea why, other than to blame it on the TNA Effect. -Who is Lance Hoyt? Why should I care? Test-lite. And I don't know why you should care, or why anyone should care, as we've never been given reason to. -Who are the two guys BG and Kip keep referring to? It sounds like thinly veiled jabs at HHH and HBK. Now, HHH i can understand but HBK was never in DX with the NAO and X-Pac always seemed to get pretty good reactions on his own (early on anyways). They are refering to Hunter and Shawn. It's a Russo idea, with the intent being to portray those 'other two' as uncool and that BG and Kip are the cool ones. -Why are Joe and Angle feuding? And is it just me, or does Joe/Angle face-to-face just not seem as intense as Joe/Steiner? I think it's because Angle wants to face the best. Or something. Was it really announced on Impact, because nobody watching here mentioned it in the thread? And this idea has almost zero upside to it. At this rate, it's hard to feel sorry for TNA.

  19. His problem was booking. If he had been booked with someone who had a clue, it could have been something special. He went from beating Jim Duggan on one PPV under the old booking regime to the next PPV, the first one under the new regime, losing clean to Brad Armstrong, for absolutely no logical or sensible reason.
  20. Wright wasn't a bad worker. His Berlyn gimmick could have really gotten over huge with the right booking.
  21. I think he disco nazi'd his way back to Germany. I've heard his name from time to time, but nothing of real note.
  22. They had less desire to put the belt on Kurt than on RVD.
  23. I think Misawa has enough left for maybe one last ***** match with the right young star. Misawa has known for a while now that he doesn't have a lot left physically, and I think if he is going to go all out one more time, which may be the last time he can, he'll save it for the match he sees as the true passing of the torch. That's why I'm not convinced he'll put Marufuji over. I don't think he'll want to put a younger guy over unless it is for a symbolic passing of the torch to their chosen new top guy and I think they see Morishima as that guy, which is why I wouldn't be surprised to see Misawa beat Marufuji for the belt and then put over Morishima for the belt.
  24. The rating was a 1.6, which seems to be the level it's settled at.
