Steve Austin vs. Triple H, also from No Mercy It's the standard WWF main event of that era, with the majority of the match taking place outside of the ring and there being almost no wrestling. The match doesn't even get to the ring until about eight minutes in. A funny spot saw them in the crowd and Hunter goes to pedigree Austin but Austin upends him and catapults him into the referee, sending him flying. The funny part is that right as they're going through all this, a fan, who is inches from all this, picks up his magazine and starts reading. He casually glances at them in mid spot, and then goes back to his magazine, completely ignoring it when Austin sends Hunter into the referee. The rest of the match is your usual WWF brawl, with all the usual shortcuts, and run-ins. Watch it if you want to see Hunter get his long awaited pinfall win over Austin, but otherwise you can live without seeing it.

re: Shelton blowing spots A lot of this, especially the sprigboard stuff, can be put down to the ropes in WWE rings being actual ropes, which makes it so much harder to get traction and springboard off correctly. A lot of the WCW guys suffered the same problem when they came over, because the WCW rings had cables, which gave more stability and so were easier to springboard off and made them much less likely to mess something up.

Ultimate Warrior Files Lawsuit Against WWE

What's he suing them for? Definition of character? -
Hogan has creative control. If he wants to go over, he's going over. That's what caused part of the blow up with Shawn last summer. Hogan didn't want to lose, and there was nothing they could do about it.

WWE drops one talentless hoss, gains another...
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to The Czech Republic's topic in The WWE Folder
How do you sucessfully book tall guys with limited talent? Not going 20:00 in the main event just because that's the formula would be a good start. -
Edge and Christian vs. The Brood (Hardy's) at No Mercy in 1999 This was the ladder match that broke them from the pack. It's a good stuntfest, but it does not hold up today. The crowd only reacted to the big stunts and were silent otherwise. Jim Ross tried his best to put the match over, while Jerry Lawler kept talking about looking up Teri's skirt earlier in the evening, and pretty much ignored the match. If you have fond memories of this, don't watch it again.

TNA had no interest, or even knowledge, of this guy. Jerry bringing him to WWE was just his way of sending a message to TNA that he isn't happy. -
His hair receeded so far back that it pulled his head away from the rest of his body. Or he's just dicking around with someone.

If you're talking about wrestling promo's, then I don't think I'd have Rock or Piper in my top 10. If you're just looking for entertainment, though, they'd be there.

They seem to be doing alright with that Batista fellow. And that suttering gimmick worked wonders for Matt Morgan. WWE hit it right once in a while with giants, but they miss far more than they hit. -
The US belt is a joke, and you don't want to put it on someone you want to push anytime soon.

If he was motivated, it should be good. Sting was always one of those who needed to be motivated to give a good promo.

Benoit got something out of Albert at No Mercy on 2003, and a few times on SD.

If WWE actually knew how to book tall guys with limited talent, we'd be more optimistic. -
Unless his name is Johnny Ace.

I've said this before, but I would think a Christian would like being a heel because the bad guy always, for the most part, winds up getting beaten by the good guy. And it's just a character, anyway.

Billy Gunn. Benoit tried his best, but Gunn was just terrible. He gassed out in five minutes and almost dropped Benoit on his head a few times.

No, but his brother is head of talent relations, so he'll likely be kept around. And I guess this makes burying MNM worth it. Did you see the latest internet Velocity? Animal helps the Mexicools defeat the Dicks, then destroys the Mexicools post-match. Great. Kill both teams to get over a guy who adds less than zero to the show.

AJ Styles is suffering from wrestling's latest affliction; Cena Syndrome.

OAO TNA FINAL RESOLUTION THREAD!

TNA did a variation on it last year, when Daniels won the X-Division title. -
Does anyone else get directed to Microsoft when trying to use that link, even after correcting the address?

OAO TNA FINAL RESOLUTION THREAD!

Not sure who came up with the finishes, but Jarrett is making the final call on everything these days. That tag title match finish reeked, literally, of some insane Dusty Rhodes/Vince Russo lovechild. It was creative, I'll say that much, but it killed the fans. They hated it, and not in a good way. All I could think of when seeing it go down was how Dusty killed Chicago for the NWA at Starrcade '87. Joe vs. Daniels was really good, and I liked the finish, but it seems like the fans didn't pick up on according to spoilers for the ongoing tapings. The opener was good, and the main event seemed ok. -
Why does everyone skip over WCW? He had some good stuff with Saturn, Page and Kanyon there. Kanyon has been used, I really think it's Page. Did DDP leave TNA last time on good terms or no? No. He kicked up a huge fuss over being booked to get pinned by Monty Brown in a tag match and would only agree to it after being allowed to Diamond Cut three people. They stopped using him after that.
