  1. The chances of Savage getting the WWF title off of DiBiase would have been nil, because the plan was for whoever won the title at WM IV to drop the title at WM V to Hogan. DiBiase or Savage, it didn't really matter, because the title change back to Hogan was planned before he had even lost the belt in the first place. He was also supposed to win the UWF world title before the company was sold to Jim Crockett.
  2. Agreed, if they could do it without turning more people off than they turn on. And I don't think WWE can do that.
  3. I think delaying Jericho's return until December would be stretching it out too far as it is, but delaying it until next year would be ridiculous. I think the fans are so much into the Jericho that delaying by much beyond Survivor Series risks people caring less and less each week. A sustained tease is great, but there's only so far you can tease people before pulling the trigger.
  4. I think we'll see him at Survivor Series at the latest. I think a key factor in when Jericho returns depends on how much the powers that be are getting off on people getting angry over Jericho not showing up, both at No Mercy and on Monday. I'm probably not the only one, but I think Santino's line to Maria about not believing everything you read online was very likely creative, probably Stephanie or someone high up on the ladder, getting their dig in at people upset over Jericho not showing already. If that's the case, then it's possible they'll hold back on Jericho's return just to get that fix of screwing with online fans. Which, apart from highlighting a major insecurity, could backfire, if they do it for long enough and in a manner that makes people stop caring about the whole thing.
  5. I'm inclined to agree with this. People are so unsatisfied with what's going on right now, that they're dying to see something with the potential to shake things up. The Jericho think has been latched onto as something that could do just that, hence people getting angry when it's being teased without being delivered. I think the reaction to Monday is a little OTT, but at the same time it's something that should have the trigger pulled very soon, lest people get fed up of waiting for it and stop caring. The fact that people are so upset is a good thing, because it shows that, for now at least, people still care. It's when people don't get worked up over Jericho not showing up that will show they've stopped caring and it's been teased for too long. The trick is going to be timing the re-debut of Jericho for the peak of interest. One more month should do it, because I think any longer than that and people really will begin to lose interest.
  6. Re: Sid disappearing after WM 13 As mentioned by the good Dr, Sid had been scheduled to face Bret Hart at the IYH the following month with the idea that Bret would get his win back from putting Sid over the previous December. Sid was not down with that, and purely by coincidence, came down with an injury. When he came back a while later on Raw, it was to put over Undertaker. He was also not happy about that, but he ended up going through with it, apparently after having it intimated that it was either do the job or your lose your job. Re: Warrior's title belt changing color Same reason his look keep changing. They were trying everything they could think of to get him over, so they'd change his face paint, his hair, etc. It was this that started the legendary rumor that there was more than one UW. His look kept changing so much that people started thinking it was because it was a different person.
  7. Not to mention Tenay seemed fine with all the other interference finishes on the show.
  8. Presumably, Cornette was going to announce Sting's partner for the PPV before Sting came out and told him not to bother. Are they going to tell us who Sting's partner was going to be?
  9. *TNA champion Kurt Angle did a promo inside the ring promising to learn who Sting's partner is at Genesis. Sting says his partner is a former WCW and WWE World champion who hates Angle. Kevin Nash comes out and beats up Angle. *Kaz beat James Storm in a Fight for the Right semifinal. *Team 3D cut a promo running down the X-Division. The Motor City Machineguns run them down on the mic. 3D get into it with them and go under the ring to get tables but they are nowhere to be found. The X-Division (XXX, Sonjay, Havoc, Shark Boy, etc.) attack 3D, bring tables from backstage and lay them out. *Awesome Kong defeated Christy Hemme. *TNA Women's champ Gail Kim & Samoa Joe defeated Ms. Brooks & Robert Roode. Roode blames Brooks for the loss and goes after her. Gail Kim and Samoa Joe make the save. Joe and Roode brawl into the crowd. Lots of blood and a good brawl which saw Roode's "fan" (Rain from SHIMMER) try to get involved. *TNA announced Junior Fatu would not be there tonight. (Note from Mike: I'm waiting to confirm but I believe he's done. Stay tuned). Christian Cage will face a mystery opponent. *Christian Cage defeated Chris Harris in a Fight for the Right semifinal. After the match, Cage attacked him with a ladder and a top rope frog splash. *Kevin Nash tells Kurt Angle that he knows who Sting's partner will be and he'll be there next week....Scott Hall. *TNA Tag Team champions AJ Styles and Tomko defeated LAX. After the match, members of the Latino Nation ran off the champions, who then brawled with the Steiners.
  10. Meltzer is great at what he does, but at the end of the day he still has to run stories that are mostly hearsay or based on biased comments from the workers he has connections with. He's not in the locker room getting first hand accounts and he's not confirming his stories with Vince McMahon. It's nice that he is able to put together a nice product, but it's always going to be filled with inaccuracies because of the nature of the way the news is collected. You think Vince would confirm anything other than the official WWE line? No, he wouldn't and that's the point I was making. Meltzer is fabulous at what he does, but at the end of the day he's only as good as the info he's being fed. True, but I think he's been doing it for the long enough that he can tell when someone is too full of BS or being wildly inaccurate. What Dave puts in the Observer probably isn't even half of what he's been told, so the crazier claims likely haven't seen the light of day.

  12. Too much of a partier and they let him go. Which is amazing considering what WCW let slide.
  13. From PWI: - Triple H vs. Umaga & Randy Orton in a handicap match. - Diva Halloween Costume Battle Royale. - Hornswoggle vs. Jonathan Coachman. - The 2007 WWE Diva Search finalists, Brooke and Eve, will appear, and the winner of the competition will be revealed. - WWE.com teases more in the Randy Orton-Shawn Michaels feud and the Cody Rhodes-Hardcore Holly storyline.
  14. Shawn did that on their Raw match as well.
  15. Matt's bleeding was no blade job:
  16. I think he considers it his greatest performance because once they got in the ring, Bulldog told him he'd gone blank and forgotten everything they'd laid out and Bret had to call the entire match on the fly.

  18. The primary goal of a match is to be entertaining, not look real.
  19. Bryan and Vinny Show reviews Raw (and Smackdown) Worth listening to. It's a great review.
  20. When they did the vignettes with Raven and Hak, the idea at the time was to eventually do something with Raven and Piper.
