  1. ...and, believe you me, he would know. Oops Pow Surprise!
  2. Well, Easy did walk through the White House without a business suit, Compton hat, gerry curl--dripping on Ronald Reagan's shoes. So I think he should, perhaps, have a say on all this.
  3. Sounds like racist talk to me. You mean DRUDGE isn't good enough for you? Well la-dee-da!
  4. My favorite Nixon quotes: 1.)"cookie pushers and faggots in striped pants", referring to the Peace Corps and the State Dept. Foreign Service 2.) When asked something along the lines of "what about the poor?" Nixon responded "fuck the [poor]" He didn't use the word poor, something like "left behind" or "less fortunate". I can't find the quote. As far as domestic politics go, I kinda like Nixon. EPA, cost-of-living increases for Social Security, etc.
  5. ~!!! ~!!!
  6. Weird note...I think I heard that Goldwater's tax plan had like a 95% rate at the highest income brackets. More progressive taxation than even the most raging of liberals today. And point taken on LBJ. He was a decidedly underhanded politician, but he did hold some real liberal values, I think, and his War on Poverty, well, reduced poverty a lot.
  7. That would be the "abhor" part that I spoke of.
  8. Probably not, he was pretty much just a straight up Reaganish conservative. And he was a big supporter of Joe McCarthy. He was against the Civil Rights Act of '64. He seems like a good man and a principled politician, but he's just too far right for me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You do know Goldwater was not from a racist right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I know, he helped start the NAACP in his state. Also, LBJ=war on poverty, which I like.
  9. Czech only likes the Joo Dems.
  10. His race stance doesn't earn points with me, but considering the times and how long it took just to get rid of segregation, I don't feel like I can fairly take them away either. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To me, TR is a lot like LBJ--I abhor "half" of his presidency and adore the other half.
  11. ^^^ AWESOME~!
  12. Colin Powell. Sucker. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Link? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/411749/610251
  13. Feingold voted no on The Debacle, too.
  14. Colin Powell. Sucker. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This cat is *the* tragic figure of the first Bush term. I was reading something about how they were in a meeting and some assistant or something was playing up some very off the wall bin-Laden-Saddam stuff and Powell was basically like, "this is all bullshit" and walked out of the meeting.

  16. The aforementioned George Will--I disagree with everything he says but makes it all sound so *reasonable*.
  17. Yeah, this game was dooty.
  18. I won! Also, Carson Palmer is availabe on waivers (and some other QBs). Should I dump Plummer and pick him up?
  19. TR's imperialist, racist bent bothers me. But I like his progressive, trust-busting side.
  20. Dead ones are easy. See my avatar, for example. Or Abe Freaking Lincoln. And the only John Lynch I know is an NFL safety.
  21. Feel that Katrina clap! Edit: Link corrected, Bork had nothing to do with the Katrina clap
  22. The fact that I kind of like John Roberts despite vehemently disagreeing with him has led me to think of a question. If you're a Republican, who is your favorite Democrat? If you're a Democrat, who's your favorite Republican? Anyone answering John McCain or Zell Miller gets -137 points.
