Id like to have someone dig up a post on here where I have mentioned ANYTHING about Obama's supposed Islamic ties. It's kind of prima facie stupid to think Jefferson said it, considering that the welfare state wasn't developed until the mid 19th century and there really wasn't a threat of "big government" in 18th century America.

The New Republic had a pretty hilarious article on Palin recently. The gist of the article is that a great deal of her political career has been based on resentments toward people who are more intelligent than she is. One of the anecdotes I found most astounding was that one of her attacks on a (male) political opponent in Alaska had to do with the fact that his wife kept her maiden name when they married.
