  1. Anyway, I can definitely see Romney getting the GOP nomination because of his strength in Iowa. Huckabee's fundraising and on the ground organization have been abysmal, and he is being actively opposed by the Club for Growth and the rest of the "trickle down" set.
  2. I realize that that was completely unrelated to our above discussion.
  3. It's a good thing you don't live in Kentucky then, since our Gubernatorial election (TOMORROW!) has focused almost exclusively on the issue of casino gambling.
  4. I will bet you right now that Paul won't win a state. There's simply no room for him in the 2007-8 GOP.
  5. What about Thompson and Romney? I seriously can't see Ron Paul winning a state other than New Hampshire, and that's a huge outside shot.
  6. No, it's not. GOLD STANDARD YIPEE!
  7. Ron Paul raised over $2.5 million today alone. Hilariously, supporters chose to do this (purposefully) on Guy Fawkes Day.
  8. I endorse this.
  9. Looking forward to the rematch in the AFC title game when the Colts have more than 2 wideouts.
  10. In honor of Mole.

  12. Joe Biden
  13. This is pretty funny if you've been following the election closely, but very insider-jokish. http://www.rightwingfacebook.org/index.html
  14. Imagine if Colbert could actually get on stage at a GOP debate. It would be amazingly Swiftian. Like his on steroids and/or acid.
  15. As a Kentucky fan who was on the field in '03 when LSU threw that hail mary (and a host of other agonizing losses), last night's game was very cathartic. It was made all the sweeter by the fact that I was watching it in the context of my friend's bachelor party in Louisville, so I was surrounded by mopey UofL fans.
  16. Al Gore isn't worth defending. He's not tappin' the Beeze. Wait, wait...this just in. The Supreme Court of the United States has decided to take the Nobel Prize away and give it to George W. Bush. Sorry, Al. Maybe next time.
  17. Republicans haven't been carrying the Hispanic vote. Latinos went 53-44 for Kerry in 2004. In the 2006 Congressional elections Latinos voted 69-30 Democratic. Bush, however, has done better than most Republicans among Latinos (Latinos went 72-21 for Clinton in '96, for example), probably because he isn't as blatantly anti-immigrant as many other conservative Republicans. This goes all the way back to his days as governor of Texas. (Exit poll results from CNN)
  18. Don't forget about Stanley's dancing to the website theme music.
  19. Apparently Rudy was roundly booed at the Yankees game last night.
  20. My wife made a pizza with eggplant and bison meat on it a couple months ago and it was the fucking bee's balls.

  23. What are you a Marxist now Invader?
  24. This whole SCHIP debate reminds me of a Simpson's episode when Bart ran for Class President. Martin was walking around with a sign reading "A Vote for Bart is a Vote for Anarchy!" The camera then pans over to Bart, holding a sign that reads "A Vote for Bart is a Vote for Anarchy!" The Republicans are furiously hammering home the argument, "This is just the first step in the Democrats' plan to establish universal health care, paid by the government!" The Democrats respond by arguing, "This is just the first step in the Democrats' plan to establish universal health care, paid by the government! http://www.pollingreport.com/health3.htm
