  1. I've seen crowds just as good, if not better in Chicago, Seattle, San Jose, San Diego, the Carolinas, and most Canadian Cities. It's just WWE has always seen NYC as a very big deal and in many ways they are. The last couple Raw/SD supershow tapings haven't been all that in MSG.
  2. No, I get that WWE feels the entitlement to MSG as their home. *I* just don't really care for where a show is held, as long as the crowd is a good crowd
  3. I don't see the big deal in WWE and MSG. I just don't.

Fallen Angel vs Liger is OFF the ppv !!!

I don't think this is that big of a loss. I like Liger as much as the next guy, but he isn't the make or break factor for me to buy a show or not. There is a lesson here that TNA should learn from about leaning on and using talent from other promotions. Not sure if they'll get it, but there is a lesson nonetheless.

Kings magic number is 3 to clinch, which means practically nothing since there are only 4 games left.

This week in the NBA April 3-9

Seems Alfdogg is asleep or perhaps reeling because he drew me in the playoffs of our WDINMBPit fantasy basketball playoffs, where he will be crushed. Anyways, about 8-9 games left for everyone. Playoffs are starting to take shape, but spots aren't cemented in yet. Cavs and Nets are smoking hot in the East right now and the Bulls are knocking on the Sixers door for the 8th. Kings have a 2 game lead for 8th in the West and looking to stay there or move up, but I doubt the Lakers give up 7th because they have a lot more home games than the Kings.
  7. http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/fs/2006040...4425789600.html OK. The question isn't why is JS going to potentially become a Baywatch Babe, because that role has a certain look Simpson matches. My question is why the fuck is a Baywatch movie being produced in the first place?
  8. Zumbido and Shocker would HAVE to be on the team in order to salvage it in any way. If those guys are not on, then I would absolutely scrap Team Mexico and go with Team UK.

Lucha/lucharesu fans help me out here

I have no earthly idea, although admittedly I only watch CMLL and only know of the top guys and midcarders there.

This week in the NBA April 3-9

Kings with a big road win over the Clips (I believe that makes 12 in a row now) to break into a tie with the Lakers and since the Kings have a better division and conference record, they get the tie breaker and sit at 7th. Kings finish the season with one more road game against Denver and have the Rockets, Suns, Hornets, and Sonics at home to finish the season. The Lakers have finished all their road games and finish the season with the Clippers, Warriors, Blazers, Suns, and Hornets. While the Hornets are 2 games out of 8th and the Jazz are 3 games out, they both have 7 more games left as opposed to 5 for the Kings and Lakers. Still, if the Lakers and Kings both go .500, they should clinch although where that ends up is anyone's guess.

    21. Reply to more stuff.

Speaking of sprained ankles, I've sprained both my ankles over quite a bit from basketball. My left one moreso than my right. My left ankle now makes a snapping noise when I go up steps or if I rotate it in certain ways. If I go up too many steps, it starts to flare up and get sore. Sometimes the soreness doesn't go away for a day or two. A doctor told me that one of my many sprains tore a ligament which didn't heal properly and the snapping noise (sounds like a stick breaking) is part of my ligament snapping over the bone. So yeah, sprained ankles suck ass.

    Going in a new direction.

I hate the Lakers. But I do respect them and you for not being a delusional fanboy like I've seen on other boards with other Laker fans.

    Wrestlemania 22 thoughts

I think this year's WM was pretty good. In hindsight, I wish they would've cut Boogeyman/Booker and the pillow fight to give more time to the SD 3 way. Orton/Rey/Angle were on the way to having a great match and the finish kind of came out of nowhere, which hurt the pop Rey got because they didn't build up to it enough. Still, while the show didn't have anything I'd rate over four stars there was a special feeling enough to justify this as a good WM. One thing WWE does well is WM, which has had a grand feeling to it since '98 (WM14).
  14. According to the latest Observer, Spike TV has told TNA that when Ultimate Fighter ends, they are putting on 2 new half hour comedy shows in it's place and leaving Impact on at 11pm. TNA had been hoping that they would be able to move up into either 9 or 10pm real prime time slot once Ultimate Fighter ends. This also makes for an odd dynamic because UFC Unleashed is still going to be on at 9pm, the 2 comedies, and the Impact, so TNA will not have a UFC lead in, which doesn't make sense. Things can change, but as of right now, that's where things stand. My take is Spike isn't all that confident in TNA as a commodity and they lack sense with their scheduling. Like it says in the Observer, things can change and I do believe if they can get a ratings bounce on Thursdays that is significant, Spike will change it's mind.

I remember that Final Four and championship game very well. Although UConn was a powerhouse, Duke had talent to burn. I remember people calling it the Duke Invitational even. I just knew though if UConn could keep it close they'd have a chance to win because Rip and that pudgy little fucker Khalid El-Amin were just clutch.

Army Woman's coach Maggie Dixon passes away

News like this scares the absolute shit out of me because I'm older than her and I am diagnosed with high blood pressure (which I control with meds). I know heart arrythmia is different, but this still gets to me. She was far too young.

Wrestlemania 23 at Ford Field Detroit

To help drudge up more Austin/Hogan stuff, on the Torch audio update, Keller says that Austin had been offered and turned down a seven figure payday to do a match with Hogan at this year's WM. Wade says that his sources close to Austin say he is completely at peace with being retired from the ring and not wrestling again.

Randy Orton suspended by WWE for 60 days

According to the latest Observer, there have been several incidents since January. One particular incident happened the week leading up to WM that was near disastrous for the show and is being kept buried by the office. While there are no details of what exactly it is, it was so bad that if Orton didn't have his ME WM status, he would've been potentially released over it. The 60 day suspension is the minimum length of the suspension and is actually an indefinite suspension. Orton did something else a few days after No Way Out as well to where that influenced WM SD storyline plans. Originally, Orton was to get the title at WM. Thing is, Orton had already won the shot at the title at WM by beating Rey, so they didn't want to change it again because it would dilute the SD title match further. However this incident (the one before NWO) lead to the office deciding to punish Orton by having him job at WM instead of being his crowning moment.

    Wilbon blows chipmunks

I never understood the run Wilbon and Kornheiser got just because they got their own show and don't come off cluttered like the guys from ATH. They are not special and I don't think they are above guys on ATH or most national sports talk radio hosts.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

Because people don't care about right or wrong anymore. They cheer who's hip and cool (no pun intended) and Masters is pretty much anti-cool compared to Carlito.

    Steve Austin

Mr. T and Vince would have to make up. There is still some underlying heat because of the way Mr T acted backstage at WM 1 & 2. I don't think they'll induct Austin until he wraps up his first WWE film and they get at least one more dream/money match. I'd guess in the next 2-4 years Austin will go in. They already have a potentially stacked class with guys like Rhodes, Steamboat, Arn, Dibiase, etc. They don't want to burn out the big names in one shot.

How would you rebuild the WWE tag division?

One thing they need to do is quit having Main Eventers beating tag teams (especially the tag champs) by themselves in handicap matches. That one thing has really crippled how people view actual tag teams like MNM.

College Hoops: National Semifinals and The Championship Game

He's saying that now. Wait until there's agents, friends, and potential hanger ons start getting in his ear. He may end up being the exception because his family is not a hardship case, but that talk of potentially being number 1 may supercede his comments. Remember last year Sean May saying he was going to try to convince his Tar Heel teammates to stay to defend the national championship and like 2 months later he and those same teammates all decalred for the draft. I also think it's hilarious that Jordan Farmar is considering declaring for the draft. He's not bad, but he does not look like pro ball material at all.
  25. I think Benjamin is very capable of doing good/great mat work. He just hasn't shown it or done it in a WWE ring yet. He got to the Univ of Minnesota because he is very good at amateur wrestling, so I have no doubt about his ability. However, the WWE style isn't condusive to showcasing good mat work. Sometimes they'll show a cool mat work spot that lasts 30 sec-minute, but then it's back to the usual WWE stuff that works for WWE matches. That doesn't constitute a great mat match.
