  1. Snakes on a Plane is going to 0wn my money (matinee money) and my face.
  2. I don't know what Philly is looking for, but I think they want him out. The window to build a championship team around AI in Philly is over. I know out here in the Bay Area, there is some talk that the Warriors may put together a package of Troy Murphy, maybe Ike Diogu, and Baron Davis for AI. More players may be needed to get the deal done, but one thing for sure here in Warriorland is they need a change and the honeymoon with Baron Davis is over. They need to do something since Mullin's job is on the line now and the only person considered not tradeable right now is Jason Richardson. I think the Warriors will land either AI or Garnett. The Lakers will probrably inquire about KG, as will the Kings. Chicago is in a ripe position to land him as well.
  3. That's because you are a movie snob and out of touch with what people want. :asshole2

    I hate Smush Parker.

I wonder if Kwame Brown is/was distracted by the sexual assault allegations? For the Lakers sake, you'd like to think it was that as opposed to a "Kwame being Kwame" type deal where he becomes known for not being reliable in a clutch game. Sporting News is reporting that the Lakers may still be looking to deal Lamar Odom because Jerry Buss doesn't want to pay such a huge luxury tax hit and Odom's contract will do nothing but balloon in the next few years, making it harder to sign FA's or re-sign guys they may be cultivating right now (such as Walton).
  5. I think the offseason will be more about who can square a trade to land either Allen Iverson or Kevin Garnett, both of whom I believe will be dealt this off season. The free agent crop this year is fairly weak and arguably the top prize, Ben Wallace, is most likely to re-sign with Detroit.
  6. I've actually spoken with a handful of people who don't want to see it because of Tom Cruise. I think it's more overexposure than it is him being crazy about Katie Holmes/baby/Scientology/psychiatry. Some people are just sick of him right now. I don't really care. I caught this movie and it was fun. That's all I ask out of a popcorn flick- be fun.
  7. Fuck all this shit, the movie looks like a good special effects, summer popcorn movie that is going to be fun. The first one was great and if the trailer is any indication, the second movie will be just as fun.
  8. I know a team that could use Garnett- The Sacramento Kings! I'd love for Geoff Petrie to work some magic and go with a Bibby and Miller for Garnett deal. I think it actually works from a money standpoint. If we can get Ron Ron and KG on the same front line, November wouldn't be able to get here quick enough. Make it so.
  9. Well here goes... SA over Dallas in 7 Clippers over the Suns in 7 New Jersey over Miami in 7 Detroit over Cleveland in 5. Yes, I'm calling 3 out of 4 series to go 7 games.

    I hate Smush Parker.

I would just like to remind you that Smush Parker is one of the big reasons the Lakers won that game 4 classic. He sank a 3 in the final minute to help get the lead back down and stole the ball from Nash at the end of regulation. Now, I'll admit he sucked pretty bad for the rest of the series, but he isn't the sole reason the Lakers lost the series being up 3-1. I just find it funny how quick some forget Smush's contributions were less than a week ago and now all of a sudden he's Laker public enemy #1.
  11. Quoted. I can't wait! You got me on that one, chaosrage. After game 4, I thought the Lakers had the killer instinct to put the Suns away and thought the Suns didn't have anything left to give after such a heartbreaking loss. In my quote, I said the Suns were done and they had no heart. Little did I know it was the Lakers who lacked heart tonight in the most crucial game, game 7. To quote Alfdogg from NMB, aren't we all glad the first round went to 7 game series format? It's not all Kobe's fault. It wasn't Phil. It wasn't even Smush's fault. It was the entire Lakers fault. It takes a team effort to tank a 3-1 series advantage. There is enough blame to spread around to guys in the purple and gold. I am more than happy to eat these words, seeing as how I really don't like the Lakers. The Suns and Clippers will be big time fun. I don't really have too much on the who is the real MVP, Nash or Kobe since I really don't give a fuck about MVP. I apologize to Ripper and the Suns for doubting them so hard. Still, this is a good consolation prize after having to see the Kings get eliminated last night in blowout fashion.
  12. You mean that, if you were forced to keep one of the two, you'd rather have Miller? The biggest pussy this side of Peja Stojakovic? While Miller is a pussy, he is a talented big man. Talented big men in the NBA don't come in spades. While talented point guards are hard to come by as well, I'd take one with a little less offensive talent and more defensive toughness than Bibby, who couldn't guard a closed door much less a guy like Tony Parker.
  13. Congrats to the Spurs. I really thought the Kings could at least push it to 7 games. If Ron Ron doesn't lose his mind this summer and Geoff Petrie can make some more off season magic, then the forecast for the Kings next year will be a good one. Not championship contenders by any stretch, but there are good parts to work with. Believe it or not, I am for dealing Brad Miller and/or Mike Bibby, particularly Bibby. I think the honeymoon is over with him here in Sac. Miller just doesn't show up in the playoffs enough for me to justify him being there. That's just me though. Pistons are sweeping or going to 5 games makes with the Cavs. Heat are going to win in 7 vs the Nets. I'll go on a limb and say the Mavs will beat the Spurs, if only because the league is making them play game 1 of the series so soon. The Laker/Sun series is all about which team is going to control the tempo of the game. Lakers-slow down, pound it into the post vs Suns-run and gun. The Suns have homecourt and momentum on their side. The Lakers have the best clutch player in the game and history on their side (only 8 teams have ever successfully come back from 3-1 deficits) No matter who wins the Laker/Suns series, I'm pulling for the Clippers.
  14. I'm going to say whichever team gets the best rest by saturday wins and there really isn't a way for us to gauge that. I'm not a welcher and still think the Lakers will win because Kobe Bryant will be too much to handle on Saturday in a game 7, but the Suns get mega props for pushing this thing to 7 because I think a lot of other teams in the league would've laid down and died. Don't get it twisted, I still don't like the Lakers and would like to be proven wrong here, but my logic tells me despit the valiant effort, it's still difficult coming back from a 3-1. I think if Kobe doesn't take the Raja stuff too personal, the Lakers will get back to their gameplan. If he makes it too much about him and Raja, the Lakers are going to lose.
  15. Well, looks like we're in for a total elimination night tonight. Kenny Smith is going to have a huge 3 team fishing trip tonight on Inside the NBA.
  16. I'll just say I like Indy's chances on the road if they can push it to 7.
  17. Only if Nash is in the game. Marion isn't good at creating on his own. He is one of the best at filling the break and converting on second shot oppurtunities. He also is a halfway decent spot up shooter off of penetration and kick out. Nash is the head, the rest of the Suns are the body. If the head is removed, the body is dead.
  18. So basically Foley is admitting he's full of shit?
  19. I think Da Vinci Code will knock MI:3 out of the top 3 ,but MI will still be very profitable.
  20. If Coach is going to be the color commentator with Styles, ECW really is doomed to failure. Well, it probrably will be, but this will speed up the process.
  21. Nate dropped off huge after the all star break. Surprised Marvin Williams made even 2nd team, but he started to show something after the break and could still develop nicely if he works on his game in the offseason and plays summer league for at least the next 2 years.
  22. I think Dixie Carter is more of an abscentee booking committee member and lets Jeff represent her since I think she knows jack shit about the wrestling business beyond what Jeff tells her about it.
  23. Felton got fucked. He's going to be a top 5 level point guard in 2 years.
  24. Unofficially... Jeff Jarrett Mike Tenay Jeremy Borash Scott D'Amore I am not sure on Terry Taylor and know that Jerry Lynn is an agent backstage, but not sure if he has any say in booking.
  25. I worded my statement wrong a bit. What I was alluding to was the Laker players on the floor. It would be stpuid for any player to come off the bench. Kobe had been getting in Suns players faces all series, not going over the line and fighting, but letting guys know what they did was out of line if play was getting real physical. Nash was doing this as well. I just figured Kobe was getting guys backs and someone should've gotten his.
