While Cena's rhymes are ok for wrestling, he won't sell dick when it comes to albums. His album will flop in stores. He has no cred amongst hip hop fans and the wrestling fans will end up downloading it. Cena's rap style, like Game2705 said, is fucking whack. A lot of stalling and pausing. His flow is fucking terrible in terms of actual rapping. Since rapping is what would make this a commercial success, let me be the first to condemn this thing straight to hell, where it belongs. Hey Cena, stick to wrestling. You still need to master that as well.

My lineup for opening night. This could change if there are any last minute preseason injuries or if Shaq doesn't get the green light to play. PG Gary Payton, LAL DAL SG Emanuel Ginobili, SA SF Caron Butler, MIA PF Tim Duncan, SA C Shaquille O'Neal, LAL Cch Randy Ayers, PHI If Shaq is a no go, Stephon and Marion jump back in the mix.

I completely agree. The only reason Hogan is doing any of this (working with TNA, New Japan) is to try to maneuver himself into a spot on WMXX for another big payday. However, if he senses that WWE won't have get a big payday for WMXX (the way they are headed, I ain't payin for any show) then he'll stay and work TNA and/or New Japan. On another Observer note. New Japan approached Hogan with the proposal to make him booker in exchange for more frequent visits. Hogan wanted to test the waters in Japan on this show before committing to anything and is pushing for Inoki to come out of retirement for the 1/4/04 Dome show. (for those not in the know, 1/4 every year is when New Japan holds a Tokyo Dome show that is the NJ equivalent of WM) When Hogan faced Chono on 10/13 in the Dome, the stips were that if Chono lost, he'd give booking powers to Hogan. That was a semi shoot because of NJ's proposal.

Here are some bits from the Observer regarding TNA... -Latest on the 11/30 ppv is that the working idea now is to do it from the Nashville Fairgrounds. The reason is that it's cheaper and they only have to fill up 1300 seats. Hogan is against doing it in such a small venue. The company has had talks with The Orleans in Las Vegas, which has a 7000 seat arena, but nothing is concrete yet. The Nashville Auditorium which houses 9000 has also been talked about. -The only other match talked about for 11/30 is doing a second Ultimate X match involving AJ Styles, Michael Shane, and Chris Sabin. The idea is after Styles loses the NWA title to Jarrett on 10/22, barring changes, he'll be made into the star of the X division to give it more marquee power. -The storyline they are working on for Hogan besides playing off of Bash at the Beach 2000 is that he is coming back for his childhood dream of winning the NWA title, the biggest major title he has never held. -They are hoping to get Sting and Piper on the show, but neither deal is finalized and Randy Savage has been seriously talked about but since he has heat with Hogan, it doesn't stand much of a chance. -There was more Dutch Mantel influence on the show this week. The 10/15 show is said to be the last show with Russo and Gilberti writing the original draft, which Mantel, Jarrett, and Scott D'Amore then edit. Starting 10/22, Mantel is supposed to be the main writer with Jarrett as his editor.

Here are some news bits from the 10/20/03 Observer -Next movie rumored for Rock is Terminator 4. Apparantly there have been meetings to do this even though T3 was slightly disappointing. (grossing around 150 mill) Arnold said he won't do moview for the next several years and suggested Rock for the role. The talks were to do release in the summer of 2005, which would mean work would be done next year. -A deal has been finalized for Rock to star in combo with cartoon and live characters in a comedy called "Instant Karma". He'll play a safe cracker who dies, and is reincarnated as a series of animals. It is a New Line Cinema project with a $70 million budget and will start filming in April. Because he has another committment for earlier in the spring, it makes his chances of him working Mania a long shot. -HHH is scheduled to get married next week, take a 2 week honeymoon, and be back on TV and house shows for a few weeks to build for Survivor Series and then goes back to filming his second movie. -Survivor Series on 11/16 in Dallas at this point looks to be Goldberg vs HHH, Vince vs Taker in a buried alive match, and Kane vs Shane in some sort of gimmick match. (yeah, more McMahon-0-Mania, nice to see they aren't going away anytime soon) -Bobby Heenan talked with Vince last week, basically telling him his health is good and he is interested in doing something and brought up wanting to do Mania. Vince told him, "I'll see you at Wrestlemania, if not sooner". They casually talked about some sort of television role.(crosses fingers and prays Heenan takes Lawler's spot) There has also been talk of Heenan working the TNA big show with one idea being as ref for Hogan vs Jarrett. Thoughts or comments?

The Observer's top story for this coming monday's issue (I live only 3 1/2 hours away from where it is distibuted so I get my issue on friday!) it says that people in the wrestling business believe that WM XX will not exist without Hogan. Hogan has maneuvered himself into a nice position because he is going to do TNA in november and that is supposed to lead into that group possibly scoring a TV deal. This also puts Goldberg in the catbird seat because he becomes a free agent at the end of March and if Hogan and Goldberg were attached to an alternative wrestling project as the top 2 stars, the project may get off the ground. The questions here are... 1) Can WWE do WMXX without Hogan? 2) Will Vince bring Hogan back in time for WMXX so he can kill TNA's chances of getting bigger since Vince has vowed to not work with Hogan since he walked out on their program this last summer?

Yes you should. I've ordered from him countless times as well as gotten tons of ebay auctions (still the best way to get bulk puro) but it does take time because of the border/customs issues. It's not GBT, it's Canada. Blame Canada!!!

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
Dangerous A replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Anyone pushing Jamie Kennedy or his retarded ass show needs to be beaten. I think I hate Jamie Kennedy more than anyone on TV right now. He's a total fuckhole. I'd give good money if I could get one good right hook on that son of a bitch. -
Just some advice, I would get Shaq in there instead. He's playing the Mavericks, who have shit at the center position. Unless word comes out the last few days before the season that Shaq won't play in the season opener, you should put him in. The man has the ability to go for 50+ VGM's on opening night because the Mavs still haven't upgraded the center position.

Thank God I took Harrington with my last pick. I almost picked Griffin because he looked poised to have a breakout year.
-
I usually check cbssportsline or yahoo sports NBA sections for injury reports. Usually they update with the middle-high end player injuries.
-
My strategy is to always get at least 2 high end cash players and then trying to find 3 middle of the road guys who might match up well against certain opponents. I keep my eye on the Who's Hot/Who's Not list constantly looking for bargains.
-
I'd watch for pre season injuries to your guys, Cartman. If you get a DNP, that is one less player getting you VGM's. Your team for that day isn't locked until midnight of the day of the game, so you can tinker with your lineups for a bit before the game begins. A quick tip, always go low end for coaches unless you can for sure fit a good one in. Sometimes those 2-3 extra player value points make the difference between you selecting T-Mac or you selecting Iverson.
-
Just a reminder, it's a daily game. You are supposed to put a team together using players scheduled to play on that particular day the day before.
-
RIP, Stu. You were good to an industry that wasn't always good to you and for that, I salute you.
-
I see Cartman has joined. Good luck.

I have just created a fantasy league on nba.com's webpage. It is called Virtual General Manager. (VGM) for short. It is a fun game that tests your knowledge of players in a fantasy game. You will compete with members in your league and you can see where you stand against everyone playing around the world. If you are lucky, you may even make the illustrious Leaderboard, which means you are one of the top 50 players in the world at the game. The game is different than most fantasy games. There is a rules part on the page, but the gist of the game is this. You are given 100 fantasy points to put together the best team for the day. You will pick one player at each position (PG,SG,C,PF,SF) as well as a coach. Each player in the league has a point value. You have to pick who you believe will get you the most VGM's for that day's games while staying under the 100 point cap. VGM's are the scoring points. VGM's are the sum your players points, rebounds, blocked shots, assists, and steals subtracted from their missed field goal attempts, missed free throws, and turnovers. Give the site (nba.com) a look. I played last year and I was hooked. Here are the specs for joining. League title: SmartMarks Fantasy League Motto: We won't be held back anymore!!! (you don't have to put this in a field, it's just to distinguish in case someone else has the same title) password: tsm4life Hopefully this will link you to the page you need to get started... http://games.espn.go.com/vgm/frontpage Alfdogg and I are in. If you like a fun, alternative fantasy NBA game, sign up and give it a try.

We'll see if money talks to Rob though. If they pay him more money to do whatever they want, chances are he'll take the deal. While all wrestlers would like to be pushed and maximize their potential, someone like RVD would have no problems being stuck in IC title level for more money. I just don't see the McMahon's giving him more money since they know they are the only big league show in town. Gotta love no alternatives!!
-
I could see WWE falling down to TNA levels in popularity in the next 2-3 years if McMahon-a-mania keeps running wild. For what it's worth, I hope TNA does emerge as a competitive #2. At least from a workers point of view. It sucks balls to try to negotiate and get lowballed by WWE because they are the only show in town. Again, I see WWE falling more than I see TNA moving up. TNA has their own problems as well.
-
Good for him. He should be a hardass about negotiations with this team of monkeys. He's had people against him since day one. Now his ability to draw and be viewed as a serious threat are in the shitter. I don't see him getting any more of a push, but he could at least get some cheddar out of these negotiations if WWE is really hard up to keep him. All in all, fuck the McMahon family.

The One and Only 24 Season 3 Thread!
Dangerous A replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
I am about to wrap up Season 2 on DVD and will be primed and ready for Season 3 as it appears on TV instead of waiting for the seasonal DVD's. God Bless Jack Bauer. -
Gay or not, I think Jim is fucking annoying. Then again, I get annoyed by spirited, cheerleader type of fuckholes, so I guess I might be biased against Ol'Jim.

What WWE Pay Per Views have you Skipped?
Dangerous A replied to The Mandarin's topic in The WWE Folder
I haven't payed for a WWE ppv since WMX8. I found a local sports bar that shows them with no cover charge. Every 2003 ppv this year has NOT been worth the price, including WM. No way in fucking hell they get my money for their shitty ass shows with McMahon-a-mania running wild this year. As RRR said, I have ordered 2 Pride shows this year. I will order a third on 11/9. :: Anxiously awaits GP Middleweight Finals :: -
That is a purely speculative argument. For all we know he just wants make a decent amount of money doing something less stressful on his already torn down body.

Who cares is HHH upstages Rock? I don't think that's his intent anyways. I think his intent is to make a lot of money acting. If his intention is to make movies to upstage Rock, he will have a short movie career.
