  1. Actually, if Lesnar doesn't re-sign with WWE, I can easily see them going with Batista/Orton for WM22.
  2. I meant Prego or Ragu PIZZA sauce, not spaghetti sauce. Both brands do sell pizza sauce you know.
  3. I think the OAO Smackdown threads are going to get smaller than they already are with the move to fridays. Folks are going to probrably tape or tivo it and watch it later in the weekend I bet.
  4. Post. of. the. day. You all need to read this one sentence and contemplate it deeply.
  5. Yes, it wasn't like Jarrett was asking for anything out of the ordinary and his demands weren't out of line. In our world. In Vince's world, he was being held up and that is enough to warrant the grudge he holds against him.
  6. If this card was part of the new Saturday Night's Main Event supercard on free TV, then I'd think it was decent. This show, on paper, is definitely not worth $34.99 (at least on your own, getting some guys together to go in on it would work though)
  7. I'm not saying Jarrett is the bad guy. It's WWE's bad for having the belt on a guy who's contract was up and overlooking it. Jarrett was going to do what was best for him. However, you are dealing with Vince McMahon. The man doesn't deal much in logic and lives in a bubble. In that bubble, if he feels he was screwed by you, even though in this situation Vince was the one who screwed up, Vince is the one who feels slighted. It's just the way it is. Look who you are dealing with is all I can say. While he's the most successful promoter of pro wrestling in history, it doesn't mean he posseses the most sane mind in the business.
  8. Correct, Porter. McMahon wasn't going to go against the wishes of his meal ticket.
  9. Actually, from what I've read, Vince McMahon didn't have that big an issue with Jarrett working with Austin, it was Austin who didn't want to work with Jarrett. Part of it stemmed from when Austin was starting out in the business working for Jerry Jarrett in Tennesee. Jeff, who was the booker's son, was pushed undeservedly so and treated everyone like dirt, including Austin. Austin, who has a memory like an elephant, didn't forget it and when this situation came up, he got his revenge by not working with him. In fact, the day that they were going to do a match, Austin grabbed Russo and marched right into Vince McMahon's office and said he was refusing to work with Jeff because he "wasn't on his level and would bring him down". Later on in an interview with Get in the Ring radio, he told the hosts he didn't want to work with Jarrett because he wasnt' intense enough and "didn't hit the ropes hard enough". Karma's a bitch, I tells ya.
  10. Porter beat me to it. The best idea of what to do with Brock would be to sign him first.
  11. The part of the newsletter that distresses me a bit is they were going to use Foley in a figurehead role, showing me TNA isn't going to be that much of a change from WWE. Figure head is about the only thing Foley could really do since he isn't going to be wrestling full time, but TNA needs to work on not being WWE-lite.

    Eggs

I crumble up and brown some Jimmy Dean sausage, drain the pan, then throw in the eggs. Sprinkle cheese over the top. Hope to God you don't have a coronary.
  13. Being that I get Galavision and am a huge fan of Lucha Libre (more like CMLL fan since most of AAA is garbage) I have had the pleasure of seeing the next big (and best IMO) high flying wrestler, Mistico. He's only 25 and while there are comparisons to Rey Mysterio, he's actually better than Mysterio was at this stage of his career. Well, while checking out DVDVR's Lucha thread, I found this... http://www.wrestleholicsvideos.com/compilation/wdvd0833.htm Oh hell yeah! 4 Discs of the best flier in all of Mexico from his debut up until Mar of 2005 for just $20.00 If you are a fan, this is a must have. If you are curious as to what Mistico is all about, you should check this out. You can actually get the discs seperately if you want, but after seeing one, you'll feel like getting the rest. I usually don't shill like this, but this man has just left me breathless with some of his moves and spots and I had to get this out there to the 3 or so Lucha TSM fans.
  14. Finley decides to go to San Antonio... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=2147720 ....and the rich get richer.
  15. It's PWI. Isn't their stuff still aimed at marks? I put more stock in DVDVR's 500, where at least they had some fairly consistent criteria, although they don't do the 500 list anymore.
  16. Well, there goes Kobe's bid to get the perfect "passive" center he was wanting. Unless of course they end up trading for him. But why do that when there are rumors of Sprewell wanting to join the Lakers. Sprewell will be a much better influence on the lockerroom than that ne'er do well, Chucky Atkins
  17. ICP and their fans can do nothing but harm to TNA.
  18. I wonder if Kennedy's line will still make it on the air. They could edit it out. Surprising they would acknowledge Jarrett or TNA at all. They haven't even started up yet, and they still aren't out of the ballpark of even being considered anything that can remotely be called competition. Even if it's just to insult, why acknowledge them? Just petty if you ask me. I remember it took Vince and Co. awhile to even acknowledge there was a WCW out there.
  19. This DVD will probrably get some laughs from the TSM crowd, but commercially it's gonna fail. Warrior fans (all 9 of them) are not going to want to get a DVD that buries a guy they like. And if you're not a fan, why would you get a DVD of a guy you don't like? Making burial DVD's just seems bad for business when you sit down and think about it.
  20. Noted on the opening and use of "fellow smart marks". Definitely have to work on those ones for sure. As for using insider terms, I'll definitely do it if the show were to branch out past the board to something like, say, itunes. However, since most of the people tuning in are going to know the insider terms, I feel comfortable using it although I may scale back on that more, especially with the advancement now of getting convo on the show with fellow posters and guests.
  21. Yes, he was.1992. He made it to the finals, falling to Masahiro Chono in a very heated match up. The G-1 that year also crowned a new NWA Heavyweight champ as well. Probrably one of Rude's top 3 matches in his career. Rude actually went over Super Strong Machine, Hashimoto, and Kensuke Sasaki to get to the finals before falling to the power of Chono.
  22. WWE even making this book has to be a rib of some sort, probrably on fans intelligence and common sense.
  23. I know you do, but what about a person with a Master's Degree in the Technology field. Much better chance of getting a high paying job in the Bay then Sacramento. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most of those people are smart and commute to work. They live in more reasonably priced areas. Hell, there are three people in my building alone who commute to and from Sacramento. I think those people are the exception and not the rule, but a lot of people come from outside the Bay Area and commute. My thing is the Bay Area has some decent places to live in. Some parts of SF, San Rafael, parts of the East Bay like Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton, Union City, even some more far out parts like Walnut Creek are decent. However, there are shitholes that are as expensive, if not more to live in than what I mentioned like Berkley, almost all of Oakland, over half of SF, San Leandro (where I currently reside) Emeryville, and most importantly, Richmond.
  24. New Danger Zone, kiddies. In this week's installment we look at... Thoughts on this last Thursday's Smackdown and the latest Raw TNA- Impact, ads run during Raw, Jericho, thoughts on the future (if there is one) ROH- Kenta Kobashi's 10/1 and 10/2 dates as well as the effects of putting the title on guys who are leaving and why it's happening. Plus TSM'ers emails and other types of fun. (can we get a mod to pin this thread and takedown the old 8-22-2005 DZ show thread?)
  25. If the Colts start losing another playoff game IN Foxboro, Manning is going to lose it and start capping the Pats defense on the field, "Last Boy Scout" style.
